Mark Sanchez

MAKE-UP ARTIST – Local 706

SKILLS: High Fashion, Special FX, Airbrushing, All Hair Work, Character work & Prosthetic Application.

Mark Sanchez has used his creativity on the world’s most recognizable faces on the world’s top Print, Movie, and Television projects for the past 32 years. Mark’s talent & professionalism, and warm easy going personality have put him on the A list from the beginning.

Mark’s career began over 30 years ago when he was discovered by then Department Head of Make-up at NBC Studios Mr. Harry Blake. Mark was then given the opportunity to become assistant Department Head of Make-up at NBC studios. After training under Harry Blake, Mark was chosen to supervise over 50 professional Hairstylists and Make-up artists at the age of 23. During that time he worked on “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson” and continued to do so for the next ten years. In his early twenties he was trusted and fortunate to work with stars like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sophia Loren, Lucille Ball, and high profile clientele such as, three President’s of the United States including Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and their First Ladies.

After leaving NBC at the age of 28, Mark was offered an opportunity to work for Ms. as her personal make-up artist in New York City. While working for Ms. Rivers Mark was honored with an Emmy Award and nominated two other times for his work on “The Joan Rivers Show.” While working on “The Joan Rivers Show” Mark’s make-up talent was recognized by the producers of “Saturday Night Live” where he then contributed his talents for the next five years.

In 1995 he landed another opportunity as Dept. Head on a very small, but heartfelt movie called “Mi Familia” (My Family) produced by Francis Ford Coppola. Mark and his team of make-up and hair professionals created and executed such A class work that they were nominated for an Academy Award that year. The Production side also appreciates his constant awareness of production time restraints of overall project. “Time is Money!” Hi-Fashion, Character work, and all phases of SPL/FX work are no problem. At this time of his career, I believe Mark Sanchez is a well seasoned, solid as they come Professional in his field, with not only Craft Techniques, but the very hard to find or to learn People Skills.
