About Quinnipiac Founded in 1929 as the Connecticut College of Commerce in New Haven, Quinnipiac University had an initial enrollment of just under 200 students. In 1935, approval was granted by the state to offer associate’s degrees in arts and sciences. In 1958, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges gave full accreditation to Quinnipiac as a baccalaureate-granting institution, and in 1963, four-year liberal arts degree programs were added to the curriculum. About Wagner Wagner College is located in New York City, on the borough of Staten Island – only a 20-minute ferry ride from downtown Manhattan. Wagner is a small, liberal arts institution with just under 2,000 undergraduate students. In the 13th annual edition of the Princeton Review published in October 2004, Wagner was ranked as the nation’s “most beautiful campus” taken from a survey of more than 300 colleges across the country. It also boasts the nation’s “best theatre department” as ranked by the same Princeton Review publication. The Seahawk Athletics Department boasts an 83-percent graduation rate, which is 22 points higher than the collegiate average. The popular comedy film School of Rock, starring actor Jack Black, was primarily filmed on the College grounds. Additionally, the CBS show The Education of Max Bickford, starring Richard Dreyfuss, and HBO’s popular drama series The Sopranos also filmed on campus.
