TAKEAWAYS CONNEH REWRITE STEEL FC RECORD BOOK WITH GOAL THEY SAID... With his penalty kick conversion last weekend at Cincinnati that knotted the match up at 1-1, 21-year-old forward Seku Conneh became Bethlehem Steel FC head coach Brendan Burke: the club’s all-time leader in goals scored. Conneh’s goal was his sixth goal in just 26 appearances with Steel FC and broke a tie with Cory On the game… Burke, Derrick Jones and Ryan Ritcher. “Disappointed with the result, and I thought we lacked discipline Already surpassing his goal total from 2016, Conneh will now look to defensively in the second half in terms of our overall shape. We left a break the club’s single season goal mark. The Liberian forward needs lot of space in midfield and we were exposedfor it quite a bit. I thought just two to rewrite that record as well. Jake [McGuire] did a great job keeping us in the game. Two major areas to Veteran midfielder James Chambers has brought many things to improve on. If you connect 528 passes in a game, you have to create Steel FC since joining the squad in 2016. After adapting to American more meaningful goal-scoring opportunities.” soccer, the Dublin, Ireland native made his 29th start on Thursday against Charleston. That’s the word I would use. From the In just his third start, second as a professional, left back Matt Real has defensive side of it, we have to get back to our system. I thought we made team history by becoming the club’s youngest field player to abandoned it a little bit in the second half, because guys were pressing play a full 90 minutes. Real, only 17, signed with the club in January and we have to trust in it and know that the first 15-20 minutes of the out of the Union Academy. game were excellent and that our chances will come if we stick to the script.” RECORD DEBUTS FOR STEEL FC While the rain poured down at Goodman Stadium, forward Yosef On what he expects from Harrisburg… Samuel and Academy midfielder Dawson “I’m expecting them to try to counter us, to sit in and counter.
