Mediante la traducción de los extractos de dos canciones de rap diferentes («Rap Devil» de Machine Gun Kelly y «STAR» de BROCKHAMPTON) y su correspondiente análisis, este trabajo tiene dos objetivos principales: por una parte, exponer qué soluciones pueden darse a las restricciones que impone una canción, como la rima, la métrica o la música; y, por otro lado, determinar cómo pueden superarse las barreras culturales que existen entre dos lenguas y que presentan en este caso los referentes culturales. A la hora de traducir canciones de rap cabe tener siempre en cuenta las restricciones que imponen el beat, la rima, el flow del artista, la coloquialidad o la estructura, pues limitan el resultado en gran medida.
