DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

SHANTA SRIRAM CONSTRUCTION PRIVATE LIMITED (SSPCL) constructed a commercial complex titled “SHANTA SRIRAM – TECH PARK” on a plot area of 2.07 Acres (8395.94 Sq.m) at Survey Nos. 126, Gachibowli Village, Serilingampally Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana. This project is a violation case. A court case was filed by Telangana Pollution Control Board in the year 2016. The judgement was declared on 31.08.2016 with a penalty.

Construction was started in the year 2007 on an approved land which is devoid of vegetation. Google image of virgin land in the year 2003 is shown below

Construction of the project was completed as per Building Plans approved/applied by Local development authority. The total Constructed area i.e built-up area is 52367.98 Sq.m in a plot area of 2.07 Acres

SSPCL have completed the Violation process as per the MOEF earlier notification and penalty was paid for the violation as per the Court Case. The project was about to obtain Environmental Clearance. Meanwhile, MoEF & CC, GoI issued a recent Notification vide S.O. 804 (E), dated 14.03.2017 for one time opportunity for Violation matters. Therefore, as per the requirement, the Environmental Clearance is sought for the project as per EIA Notification dated 14.09.2006 as amended on 14.03.2017. The area adjacent to the project is major development project of DLF on the northern direction

The project activities were confined within the project in the site only and the impacts on land-use, commercial facilities and open space are minimal

The project has not disturbed the surrounding which can be seen by google map of year 2017

The Project was developed on own vacant land and no demolition works were involved

Land/soil environment was temporarily affected for short duration due to construction activities like site preparation, excavation, material handling & storage etc.

The ground surface of the project is flat with no undulations. The project has not obstructed any natural drainage courses. No streams are passing through the project site.

During construction phase due excavation of topsoil, the impact on drainage pattern, and run off characteristics have been restricted to project area. Storm water drains have been provided and the run-off generated is recharged into the ground
