Throughout dissemination of the Red Cross values and basic International Humanitarian Law (IHL), the South Sudan Red Cross’ Communication Department was able to reach 5,780 persons from January to September 2015. The disseminations were conducted to the benefit of students, the internally displaced, community leaders, public authorities, women groups as well as SSRC staff and volunteers.

On 31 August 2015, Western branch with support from Juba team distributed household essential items to 2,050 households (12, 300 individuals) who fled Mundri and Maridi following the displacement of the population due to violence that had errupted in these areas, settling temporarily in Yambio Central Payam. The package includedblankets,sleeping mats, buckets with lids, tarpaulins, collapsible jerrycans, sanitary pads, mosquito nets, kits of clothes and laundry soap.
