The museum collections are divided into four main areas, Archaeology, Art, Hampshire History and Natural Sciences. The Archaeology collection is already substantial, and our existing resources are committed to ongoing maintenance and improving accessibility and storage conditions for this material. In common with other services across the country, limited resources impact on our storage capacity. As such, it is important that any new accessions relate to the current collecting policy (Appendix 2).
