A Guthrie Weekend Like his famous song, “,” was a troubadour who traveled by foot and freight train from California to the New York island. He traveled Route 66 and visited the migrant camps in the Inland Empire in the 1930s. He wrote thousands of songs, leaving the footprint of his music and stories across America.

Joel Rafael Presents Woody’s America Friday, April 8, 7:30pm at the San Bernardino County Museum Free to the public Joel Rafael has been a featured performer at the annual Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, Oklahoma since it started in 1998. A natural interpreter of Wood Guthrie’s music, Rafael is also a member of the national touring cast of the Guthrie revue, “Ribbon of Highway.” Rafael mixes traditional folk idioms with contemporary ideas and sensibilities.
