2 Resume of Board members of Creetown Initiative Ltd and the Project Team

Creetown Initiative has a strong board and an experienced staff team who have delivered a number of successfulprojects. Below is a short biography of the key personnel connected to the group who will be contributing towards the implementing this project.

Tim Stephenson For the past 32 years Tim hasowned and managed the Creetown Gem RockMuseum. This is a unique, privately owned world classcollection of gems, crystals and minerals and is a four star visitor attraction which seesupwards of 35,000 visitors a year. Tim is also a qualified motor vehicle engineer and also taught mechanical engineering at Leedsand Dudley Technical College before re• locating to in 1981. Tim has been on the board of Creetown Initiative since 2011 and has been Chair since 2012.

Bill Mitchell Bill is currently a statistical analyst for NHSDumfries and Galloway. Prior to this he worked in analytical and policy roles in both the public and the private sectors in , with . ) a particular focus on rural economic and community development in the south of and the Highlandsand Islands. He is an office bearer for various local community groups. Bill hasbeen Company Secretary of Creetown Initiative since 2008 and a director since 2012.

Carolyn Stephenson Aside from helping her husband Tim manage the Creetown Gem RockMuseum, Carolyn also runs her own secretarial business.Her businessportfolio includes minute taking, correspondence and other paperwork for local community groups. Prior to that, Carolyn spent 23 years in Edinburgh, working as a PAat company executive level before coming backto settle in Galloway. Carolyn has been on the board of Creetown Initiative sinceJanuary 2011. Carolyn also compiles and edits the local quarterly magazine,The Ferry News.

Jim Anderson From January 1967 until his retirement on 29th Feb2008, Jim spent 41 years in the transportation and logistics industry. The last 20 years of employment were spent with Expeditors International of Washington Inc, and of those, the final 10 years were spent as the RegionalVice President for UK, Ireland, South Africa, Mauritius and Madagascar.This geographic spread encompassed 16 offices, ) employing circa 650 staff. Hisareas of expertise were Airfreight, Oceanfreight, EuropeanTrucking, Warehousing, Distribution, Customs Brokerage and Compliance, Order Management, International Finance,Banking and Insurance and Accounts Receivables.

Staff recruitment, training, assessmentand development, were amongst the most important responsibilities of the role of RVP.The role involved considerable amounts of international travel, and regular contact with numerous regulatory bodies both in the UKand overseas. Jim has been a board member of Creetown Initiative since 2012.

David Hannay David is a retired general practitioner who was previously Professor of General Practice in Sheffield, and is currently a non-executive director of the Dumfries and Galloway Health Board and vice lord• lieutenant of Wigtownshire.

David Joined the board of Creetown Initiative in 2007 when the band hall of the Creetown Silver Band, of which he was chairman, came under the umbrella of the Creetown Initiative. John Mackenzie Successfullocal businessman and community activist, John was instrumental in setting up Creetown Initiative. A key figure behind the restoration and creation of Newton Stewart Community Cinema, he has also been involved with numerous community events and projects. John is now a Director of Creetown Initiative Ltd.

Dorothy Scherrer Dorothy is Vice Chair of Creetown Initiative Ltd, Chair of BallochWood Community Project (a sub• committee of Creetown Initiative Ltd.) and Vice Chair of Community Council. Being involved in the formation of both Creetown Initiative Ltd and Balloch Wood Project since 2001, Dorothy hasgained skills in drawing up a constitution; funding applications, environmental projects and drawing up a 25 years Land Management Agreement for BallochWood with FCS.She has worked with community groups and also the Forestry CommissionScotland, (both local and nationally). She hasdelivered a presentation to Scottish Parliament, worked with Dumfries & Galloway Council Departments, Scottish Natural Heritage and Heritage Lottery Fund.

Andrew Ward Andrew is the Senior Project Manager (Full-Time emloyee) at Creetown Initiative Ltd and as part of his duties managesthe charity/consultancy on a day to day basis.He was previously the project worker and fund raiser for the Catstrand in New Galloway and joined Creetown Initiative in 2006. An active member of the Development Trust Associations Pool Associates,Andrew has supported projects acrossScotland including Braemar Castle,CAOSArts project in Clydebank,The Millennium Centre Muirhouse and Moffat Town Hall Project. He is a skilled and experienced community worker and fund raiser of 25 years experience.

Katherine Elliott Katherine works on a part time (employee) basisas a Community Project Worker. Katherine joined Creetown Initiative in 2009 to help develop community-led renewable energy projects. During her time with Creetown Initiative, she has undertaken other community project work including the regeneration of the children's play area within Creetown's KGVPlaying Field and also provides a book keeping and administration service for the charity. Katherine, a BSc(Hons) Environmental Studiesgraduate, previously worked as an Environmental Manager for a large food manufacturing company. Her skills include project management, fundraising, implementing Environmental and Health & Safety management systems and auditing.

Kevin Dodd Kevinjoined Creetown Initiative Ltd in 2009 and works on a full-time (employee) basisas Environmental Projects Manager. Kevin runs the community farmers market, car share club, cycling project and the Creetown Produce Market. Prior to joining Creetown Initiative, Kevinworked for British Telecom as Customer Service Manager/Performance ResourceManager UK North and Scotland. In this role, Kevin managed a team of 22 employees and ensured the efficient deployment of work packagesto frontline engineers. He was also personally responsible for developing processeswhich resulted in an 11%increase in customer satisfaction acrossthe UK. Kevin'sskills include project management, budget management and devising systems and procedures.

Amy-Dee Tighe Amy is a BA(Hons) Film and Media graduate and works for Creetown Initiative on a full time (employee) basisasa Youth Work Manager. Amy manages all four youth workers who work in youth groups in Creetown and Newton Stewart. Shealso acts as a researcher for other members of staff, managesart projects and leads the Creetown Initiative film production service. To date, Creetown Initiative hasbeen commissioned to produce seven films with various groups to promote their work.
