The game, which is slated for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff, will be broadcast live as part of the GSC 9/3 at Wingate W, 34-28 (2ot) TV Game of the Week package. 9/8 NEWBERRY (GSCTV) 7:00 p.m. The Blazers enter the game with a 1-0 record after defeating Wingate 34-28 in double overtime in its season 9/17 at Albany State 6:00 p.m. opener last week. Quarterback Austen Roberts earned Gulf South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors 9/24 SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 7:00 p.m. in that game as he ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns while passing for 180 yards and two more scores. 10/1 at Arkansas-Monticello 7:00 p.m. Valdosta State compiled 452 yards of total offense in its first game of the year, including 180 through the air 10/8 at Ouachita Baptist 2:00 p.m. and 272 on the ground. Theseus Jackson tallied his first 100-yard rushing game as he finished the day with 122 10/15 WEST ALABAMA 3:00 p.m. yards while Quin Roberson registered four catches for 85 yards and a score. Four different Blazer defenders recorded 10/22 at Delta State 4:00 p.m. double digit tackles, led by Harrison Dreiling and Chris Pope with 12 each. The Black Swarm defense surrendered 10/29 WEST GEORGIA 2:00 p.m. 436 yards of total offense to Wingate, including 334 through the air and 102 on the ground. 11/12 NORTH ALABAMA 2:00 p.m. Newberry fell 46-17 to North Greenville in its season opener, due in large part to the four interceptions thrown by quarterback Bryan Ehrlich. The Wolf offense tallied 201 yards of total offense while the Newberry defense gave all times Eastern up 459 total yards, including 273 on the ground. Ehrlich passed for 104 yards in the game while John Gadson had 65 NEWBERRY rushing yards. Apollo Stretch recorded 12 tackles, including 10 solo stops, to lead the Wolf defense, which recovered (0-1, 0-0 SAC) two fumbles in the game. Valdosta State returned 39 letterwinners, including eight starters and two of its special teams performers, off 9/3 NORTH GREENVILLE L, 46-17 of a team that went 8-3 and made the playoffs last season.
