He joins forces with a tech billionaire and the U.S. government to try and stop it, and they stumble onto a gigantic con- spiracy.

Everyone was going about their daily lives and some were even considering what to do after college. However, one MIT Grad student had come across something he never expected to find. He had seem- ingly been creating a map of space that’s primary function was supposed to de- tailed any significant changes though the one day it decided to finally work it had picked up on a huge asteroid that was heading straight for Earth. So Liam Cole had known what that would mean and he had gone to his professor just to double- check his findings. Though the professor hadn’t been too sure about what Liam had found. He had thought that it could be another dud and had asked for time to look things over that night yet whatever the professor found must have been conclusive because he didn’t show up to school the next day and his house had been found trashed. So Liam had tried to call it and get the police to take his concerns seriously except the operator thought he was drugs and he hadn’t the time to argue with her. Some goons in a back SUV had started chasing him and there was only on place eh thought he could hide. Liam had remembered that the famous tech genius Darius Tanz was in town and that he was staying a hotel near the campus. So Liam knew that if he could just get close enough to Darius

3 Salvation Episode Guide that the goons would stop chasing him and he could possibly talk Darius into hearing him out. Yet, throwing himself into Darius’s elevator had set the billionaire’s security team on him and so Liam had had to explain fast. He said that there was an asteroid heading to earth in 185 days and that it would destroy everything. Liam had go on to describe as a planet killer and he had all his data backed up on a flash drive in case Darius didn’t believe him. But Darius did have a reason to believe the young grad student. He had recently been asked by the DOD to expedite a nuclear he was building for them and he figured out pretty quickly that they must have asked for it so soon in order to use against the asteroid. So Darius grabbed Liam and the two went to go see the Deputy of Defense who Darius knew personally and assumed wouldn’t lie to them. So Darius’s assumption turned out to be right. He had gotten answers Harris Edwards and he hadn’t been the only one because Harris’s press secretary had also been brought into the loop as well. Grace Burrows had spent the couple of months making excuses in the press for one thing or another and so she had been surprised to find out that this entire time she had been covering up an asteroid. But what had made the surprise hurt had been the fact that she was also Harris’s girlfriend and the two were discussing a future together all the while he kept world-ending secret to himself. Grace still worked for him however and so she hadn’t let her own panic show as Harris began telling Darius and Liam about NASA’s plans. He said that NASA had quickly realized the nukes would still cause damage if they were to fragment the asteroid and that the plan was a second option. With the first option being a satellite that would change the gravitational pull and force the asteroid on a course away from earth. So Harris had assured the group that they had everything well in hand and that there was no need to share of this with the public. Harris had explained that it would only cause mass panic and that they were going to solve the problem anyways. However, neither Darius nor Liam truly believed a word Harris said. So Darius decided to come up with a plan. He had thrown a party and had invited everyone in the area including both Harris and Grace. And he had done all of that in order to get a chance to pitch an idea to Grace. Grace had a high-level clearance and access to both information as well as resources he might need. So Darius had wanted Grace to spy for him. He told her that the government’s plan was going to work and that Harris wouldn’t tell her about it even if she was his girlfriend because he was bureaucrat before anything else. Though while Grace had been surprised that Darius had learned the truth about her and Harris, she had also wanted to know if he had a plan of his own and he did. Darius has been working on building an ark for years. The ark was a ship that was designed to take 160 souls as well as both animal and plant life to Mars where the hope was that they would eventually colonize the plan. Darius had said that he had done the calculations and that 160 people were all he needed to rebuild the human race, but he said with more resources he could possible increase that number to thousands rather than hundreds. Yet, Grace and Liam hadn’t felt comfortable with merely saving hundreds. They had wanted Darius to come up with a plan that would everyone. But Darius told them that he didn’t have a plan for that and so the others couldn’t stand to sign up. Both Grace and Liam had told Darius that they wouldn’t help him with his plan and then the two had walked off. So Darius was going to go ahead with his plan on his own except Liam and Grace realized that they couldn’t just give up. Liam had felt bad about walking away without thinking about the better good and so he had gone back to work with Darius however Grace later had realized that Darius was right about NASA’s plan. She had been told by Harris that run was a success though she had also been wise enough to check it out for herself and had found out that the rocket had instead crashed. So she remembered her daughter that had recently graduated and she decided that she wanted to fight for Zoe and everyone’s else futures. However, she didn’t want to follow through with Darius plan. She had gone back to his office and had told him that rather than flee that maybe he should come up with the tech that would stop the asteroid. So the three had come together to work on saving earth and they knew that certain things would have to be sacrificed...

Another Trip Around the Sun

Season 1 Episode Number: 2 Season Episode: 2

Originally aired: Wednesday July 19, 2017 Writer: Corey Miller Director: Ken Fink Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Dennis Boutsikaris (Dr. Malcolm Croft), Jeffrey Nordling (Daniel), Zuleikha Robinson (Catherine Adams), Derek Webster (Dr. Garrett Strauss), Aaron Poole (Lazlo), Dewshane Williams (Diego), Raven Dauda (Harris’ Secretary), Daiva Johnston (Millie (Grace’s Asst.)), Josette Jorge (Karissa (darius’ Asst.)), Bill Turnbull (Carnahan), Greg Calderone (Ed), Jesse LaVercombe (Corporal Nevins), Andrew Moodie (WIPP Lietenant), Daniel Falk (New Tech (Pete)), Paul De La Rosa (Gen- eral Higgins) Summary: Darius and Liam need to invent a theoretically impossible piece of technology to divert the asteroid. Grace risks everything to help Dar- ius, while Liam heads home to Boston to track down critical research, but he finds something shocking instead.

Grace celebrated a birthday. However, this year there was only one thing that Grace wished for and that was to some- how stop the asteroid intent on hitting earth. So Grace wasn’t excited or even as happy as she usually was to get a cup- cake from her daughter this year because she didn’t if they would be a next year yet Grace was putting her money on tech billionaire Darius Tanz. She had asked if not dared him to find a way to save the human race and he had come up with a grand plan that required a lot of money as well as a lot of uranium. Yet, Darius had only asked the DOJ for the money. He said that he would need two billion dollars to start building an EM Drive which was best described as an electromagnetic rocket. So Darius had wanted to build one of those and then use it to throw the asteroid off its course. And so someone pointed out that Newton’s Laws had ruled out an EM Drive ever working. Except Darius said that all laws were meant to broken like Newton had broken Aristotle’s so he asked the DOJ to just let him build the damn thing and they agreed to giving some of what he asked for. They couldn’t get him the full amount because that required going through congress and telling the whole world what was happening. But they all agreed that they could give him half of his asking price and that he could find funding somewhere else. So Darius took what he could and the second he had a moment alone with Liam and Grace he asked Grace to get him the uranium. He reminded her that she had access to the Deputy’s key card and that the Deputy had could ”sign off” on getting him the uranium.

5 Salvation Episode Guide

So Grace of course had said no. She told Darius that he was crazy and that she didn’t want to commit treason, but she eventually had a change of heart when she found out that her good friend Walter was dead because she thought he died because of her. Walter was the tech friend that had showed satellite images from the failed government test run and so Grace thought he had been murdered for looking at that file. Though she wasn’t the only one that thought the government might have killed him. There was also a journalist sniffing around. She worked for the gossip sites and had been interested in why Darius had been seen going to the DOJ and leaving it upset however a low- level tech guy at the DOJ was found murdered a mere two days after Darius’s abrupt meeting and the government looked like they were covering it up. The body was released to the family without an official autopsy report and that was despite Walter’s case being a murder. But the journalist had also known a few things that Grace hadn’t. Amanda had found out that Walter had called his sister and told her that if anything happened to him it was because of Project Atlas. However, Grace and didn’t what Project Atlas was and she had been warned against ever repeating it when she had tried to ask Deputy Secretary Harris. Harris and Grace were in a relationship so she thought that she could ask yet he told her that there were still a few things above her clearance and that she should forget the whole matter with Walter. So Grace had whatever allegiance she still had for him once she realized she couldn’t trust him. She had been warned before by Darius about Harris and so she later offered to help him get his uranium. Yet, Grace wasn’t the only with a mission. Liam had been sent back to Boston to get as much on his professor’s work with the EM Drive and that had placed him in dangerous situation as well. There were still people watching the professor’s place and so Liam did his best to sneak in, but still he was seen and someone sent a mysterious text message that told him to get out now because they were coming for him. And so he ran. Liam got out of there and he thought about leaving that very second. But he got a message from Jillian. Jillian had published her first novel and she was holding a reading so she wanted to know if he could stop by. So he did the next best thing. He paid people to go to the reading and gave her the packed audience she needed to boost her confidence. And it was while he was watching the reading from the outside that his professor ran into him. Professor Malcom Croft had been the one to send the text message and he wanted to protect Liam because he knew Liam was right. He double-checked the findings and had been looking into the EM Drive himself when his security system alerted him to the break-in. So the professor got out of there because he didn’t know if he was safe and he had tried to warn Liam of that as well, but he didn’t need to bother. Liam had told Croft that he could take him to Darius and that Darius would come them safe. Though it turns out that the guy they thought was following them from Boston had been Darius’s security detail that he sent to ”protect” Liam. But the truth of the matter was that Darius was spying on Liam. He wasn’t sure if Jillian was going to be a problem for him and so he sent someone to monitor Liam’s actions. So Darius wasn’t the guy that Liam thought he was and, while he may have told Grace that there was no way any could trace what they did, he discounted Harris. Harris had eventually found out that Grace had been going through his things and he knew that Darius had helped keep him busy by needed him to pitch a billionaire heiress for extra funding on the very same night that he found Grace’s earrings in his briefcase.

Meanwhile, Grace is forced to make some diffi- cult decisions that could have life or death consequences for millions of people; and Liam and Jillian reunite under surprising circumstances.

That journalist is still snooping around. Amanda had gotten a hint of a bigger story when she found out a low-level tech at the Department of Defense had been murdered and everyone was trying to cover it up however she thought she had a found an opening to getting that story. Amanda had met Liam not that long ago and he didn’t know that she was a journalist. But she went on one of the tours through Darius’s headquarters and she made sure to seek Liam out. So Liam had talked to her and had asked her if she was interested in the tour. And he had been surprised when she pulled out her business card. Amanda may have been looking for a story, but she did tell Liam that she was a journalist and she had tried to get him to open up about his elusive boss. Yet, Liam knew that he couldn’t help her and so he was trying to find a polite way to fob her off when Darius’s people did the work for him. The security team had found out that she gotten too far away from the tour and so she was promptly returned back to the lobby. So Amanda was going to wait around in order to talk to Liam except he was busy. Darius had decided to surprise Liam by inviting a girl he liked to the building and he had also set aside time for the two to be together. Though Liam didn’t think that he should be away from the project just to hang out with his possible girlfriend. So he later asked Darius what it was that he was playing at and Darius had replied that he thought Liam would like his surprise. He said that Liam had already taken time away from what they were doing to go to Jillian’s book reading and so why shouldn’t he meet Jillian for himself. And so Darius was playing some type of game. Liam just didn’t what it was and so he also didn’t understand why Darius had suddenly decided to act out of character because Darius had also taken Jillian out to lunch.

7 Salvation Episode Guide

So Liam was on edge when Jillian came back from her lunch with Darius and said that she had been offered a job. The job apparently was a think tank with philosophers, artists, and writers. But Jillian didn’t know the real reason she had been head hunted while Liam did. Liam realized that Darius had created a made-up a job to get Jillian to move closer and so Liam had tried to tell Jillian about the job. He asked her to think about why a guy like Darius would pluck her out of obscurity and all that did was offend her. Jillian had asked Liam if he thought she didn’t belong with the others because she didn’t go to MIT. And she ran off before he could fully explain himself. Elsewhere, though, Darius was getting bad news. He had found out that the military was giving him six days to come up with his EM Drive and that if it didn’t work they were going to blow up the asteroid. Which would scatter it into pieces and kill more than a billion people. However, Grace was trying to get the government to hold off on that and give Darius more time. So she told Darius that he needed to speed up his work and she also tried to get Harris to back down. Harris as Deputy Secretary of Defense had a lot of sway and so Grace had thought that she could bring him around, only he didn’t want to hear it. Harris had gotten Grace the clearance she didn’t technically qualify for and he had let her speak her mind however he had later gotten called out on that and was told he was being too soft on Grace. So he tried to tell Grace that the military place was merely a backup and that it was best way to save the planet if Darius’s plan failed. Though Grace wouldn’t have it. She had actually gotten into a heated fight with Harris over their plan and she had told Darius that he had to throw everything he had at the project. And so everyone put forwards their best effort. Darius, Professor Croft, and Liam worked on the EM Drive and they were finally able to create a functioning model. But the professor couldn’t sit in on the demonstration because he was still a wanted man and therefore the other two had gone ahead without him. Liam and Darius were supposed to show off their EM Drive and everything was coming together until they ran into a complication. The Drive wasn’t working like it should have and so Darius ordered Liam to add some juice to it even though if the professor had warned them not to. So that lit up the drive too much and their demonstration turned into an explosion. Which meant their last chance at convincing the government to change their minds went out the window. So Liam was left angry. His professor had told him that Darius was more of a celebrity than a scientist and he saw that for himself when Darius tried to turn their last chance into a show. Yet, he couldn’t wait around with the others going over where they failed and he chose to meet up with Jillian. Liam had wanted to apologize to her for his earlier behavior and he told her that she should take the job if she wanted, but she told him that she already did and that the think tank she joined was part of some mission to Mars. She said that herself and others had to think of the about over a hundred people that could repopulate the earth if the world were to end. Jillian had thought that was an unusual request except Liam knew that it wasn’t. He quickly figured out that Darius was going ahead with his arc and that made him doubt Darius’s move- ment leading up to the demonstration. Though, Grace as it turns out, had some questions of her own. She had finally revealed to Harris that she had been going behind his back to save the human race and so he decided to stop stalling. He took the call from the president that said they were a-go and then he let NASA send up a missile. So Grace had thought that they were going to kill people when Darius told her that he still had one more card to play. And the card turned out to be hacking NASA. He hacked the missile they set up and deliberately ensured that it would fail.

Darius never gave up on his evacuation plans. He was still building the ark and he was still looking for two hundred of the most ”worthy” to help him rebuild the human race. However, it wasn’t clear if he hacked NASA and destroyed Earth’s last chance at survival just to achieve his goal. Darius disappeared not long after NASA failed to blow up the asteroid and he wasn’t returning any of Grace’s phone calls. So Grace eventual showed Harris the text she received from Darius. Darius had said that ”its not over and that he still had one more move”. And so every- one was left wondering if that move had been treason! It was treason, after all, to work against one’s own country much less what’s in the best interest of billions. But neither Grace nor Harris truly knew if Darius was a traitor or if he was talking about something else. Darius as it turns out, had gone to New York to go shopping and had bought several pieces of high-priced art. So that doesn’t sound like a man that just hacked into NASA yet Harris didn’t have any time to waste and so she signed all the necessary orders. He sent people to search Tanz Industries and he picked up Darius at the airport without bothering to read the other man’s rights in this scenario. Which meant that Darius was going to be taken to an offsite and forced to yield to interroga- tion. Yet, Harris for his part had tried to keep things from going to directly to torture and had instead tried to level with Darius. He asked him what the text meant and if hacking NASA like he allegedly hacked many of his competitors was part of a grudge, but Darius denied everything. He said that he didn’t hack the building and that he wanted to talk to Grace. So Harris was going to deny the request until his people came back with their findings and changed his mind. Harris’s team had found evidence that the hack came from Darius Industries and so they believed that proved Darius to be guilty. But as they would need more than a day to free up

9 Salvation Episode Guide their systems, they couldn’t wait around on the chance that Darius would undo what he did voluntarily. So Grace was sent in and she did her best to reason with him. She said that the government has proof and that there was no way to deny his crime though Darius it seems still had something to say. He said if the hack came from his company that it must mean he has a mole and that no one was safe unless she investigates who the mole is. Though only Grace even consider investigating the mole theory. Harris and the others wanted to torture Harris until he gave them what they wanted and so only Grace went to Tanz Industries. She had been warned by Darius to find Liam and therefore that was the first thing she did however she ran into Darius’s friend Lazlo Simms that wanted to know how she got access to certain parts of the building. He said that the A.I. that greeted her would have only have opened the doors for Darius and no one else. So Grace downplayed what happened as a malfunction and looked for answers later. Grace looked through her belongings because she remembered seeing blood on the floor and so she found a chip that Darius must have placed on her without her knowledge. However, she took the chip to Liam and Liam said that it was technology that the super wealthy used to monitor the movements. So they found out where Darius was. He was in an offsite building where he kept the ark. The ark was being stacked packed with things like the Gutenberg bible as well other valuables pieces of art and history. And the building proved to be Darius’s alibi because he didn’t have access to any sort of computer or tech that could connect to the outside world with him. So the one reason Darius chose to stay silent was because of the uranium. The uranium that Grace stole and that was being used to build the ark. But knowing that Grace was innocent had helped her talk to Harris and she convinced Harris to let Darius go. Darius was the only person that knew where someone could use a computer that wasn’t connected in the Tanz building to hack NASA. So Darius was free and he figured out where the hidden computer was. He told Liam to check behind the arcade games and that’s where Liam found it. The minicomputer that was sending out a signal and destroying everything! And so Liam turned the computer off. He turned it off and NASA’s probe came back online. Yet, it was too late because the probe had drifted too close to Jupiter and had got swept in by the planet’s gravity. So NASA failed at destroying the asteroid and now the only options left were the original A&B. Plan A was to get the EMDrive up and running so Liam went back to working on that and had learned something along the way. He realized that they needed a sterner substance to maintain the drive so he talked to his girlfriend and she had given him the idea to use the crystals that had been found in space. And as Liam was working on EMDrive while everyone else needed someone to blame for the probe.

Keeping the Faith

Season 1 Episode Number: 5 Season Episode: 5

Originally aired: Wednesday August 2, 2017 Writer: Angela Harvey Director: Jennifer Lynch Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Dennis Boutsikaris (Dr. Malcolm Croft), Erica Luttrell (Claire Ray- burn), Simon Northwood (Russian gunman #1), Aaron Poole (Lazlo), Autumn Reeser (Theresa), Michael James Regan (Mysterious Figure), Vladimir Tsyglian (Russian Gunman #3) Summary: While Darius works to discover who killed his friend Lazlo, he is forced to reckon with his past, and Liam discovers who’s been selling secrets to the Russians.

Grace suspected Lazlo had been behind the hack even if Darius didn’t. So she and Harris went to go arrest Lazlo ex- cept they later found Lazlo dead. He had been found with a gun wound to the head and it had looked like a suicide. Though Darius knew better. He knew Lazlo would never betray him so he suspected that Lazlo was murdered and had continued working on Plan B — the ark that named ”Salvation”. Darius was mourning his friend. How- ever, he no longer trusted the people around him and so he was moving the base of his operations. Darius had the Professor and Liam take the EM Drive in an unmarked car when no one was looking and he was transferring all three to safety on an offsite. So Darius had promised Liam that he would look after Jillian as he searched for the mole and he had tried to do so by putting in place several protocols that would have made it even hard for him to break in, but the one thing that Darius wasn’t counting on was Grace or the government intruding when he wasn’t ready for them. Darius had wanted to keep the fact that the EM Drive worked a secret until he figure out who the mole was. But Grace’s reappearance had changed everything and so he wanted to know what the government had to say that was so important. And it turns out they were taking away his funding. The government feels like they wasted a billion dollars on his project just to have it failed. So they wanted their money or at least what’s left of it back and Grace was unfortunately the errand boy on this one because many feel like that Grace was the one that talked them into listening to Darius in the first place. Yet, there was a condition in it for Grace. She was told to get that money back or that she would be removed from the task force. So Grace really needed Darius to comply and he was set on being argumentative than he was on helping. He said that it was just like the government to pull the rug out right when he needed them. Darius told Grace that the EMDrive was working and that they would need funding to build a bigger version of their current model though Grace said that she would need proof before she could believe him about the EMDrive.

11 Salvation Episode Guide

Grace explained that he lied to her one too many times for her to believe him without any sort of proof and so she wasn’t going to vouch for him if he was lying again. Though Darius had said that he was telling the truth and that he would take her to the offsite, but he lied. He instead took a detour to Lalzo’s house to check on Lazlo’s computer. He said that they needed to know what Lazlo was looking into on the night he was murdered and that it would lead them to mole. So Grace did get a little upset with him and she only calmed down because they did find something. Lazlo had found footage of someone breaking into the arcade game and so Darius knew how he could use the blurred image to find the mole. He sent it to his assistant to have it run by TESS his AI and as they were waiting for results they met Lazlo’s sister Theresa. Theresa hadn’t heard from her brother in a while so she came by to check on him and Darius thought the least he could do was tell her the truth. He told her that Lazlo was gone and did his best to comfort his first love that went by the nickname Tess. Tess, Lazlo, and Darius all grew up together and they used to use a Treehouse as their special spot. Sort of like how Darius built an overgrown treehouse to live it and keep his personal information. However, after they said goodbye to Tess, the results came in and the mole was revealed to be Professor Croft. Croft was working with Russian Intelligence and he had told them that they were moving the EMDrive so he got them to steal it and kidnap Liam. So Liam quickly realized that his professor had betrayed him. Liam realized it after he the professor broke his glasses during the transfer and said he couldn’t get a new pair because his glasses were one of a kind. Yet, Liam remembered seeing the glasses left behind after the professor’s home was trashed. So it made no sense for someone on the run to go back to his house for his glasses, but a mole staging a scene made everything fit and so Liam tried to escape without the professor. Except he was caught! The professor hadn’t wanted to leave Liam behind or kill him. He actually wanted Liam to work with him in Russia. The professor said that men like them have stood by while others like Darius have made billions off of other people’s work and that they could finally be recognized as geniuses if Liam followed him. But Liam was very clear when he said that he would never betray his country. He said that they didn’t know what Russia was going to do with the technology and he had a point. Russia had apparently hacked every other probe out there and now there was nothing left besides the EM Drive to stop an extinction level event. Though Darius and Grace knowing the truth, had tried to find out where Liam was seeing as he didn’t make it to the offsite. So they went to NASA and had used the services there to find out where Liam and the EMDrive where however they were too late to save the EMDrive. The professor had already made off with it and so all they found was a heartbroken Liam and a dead professor. Liam had killed him in order to get to the EMDrive and it had been for nothing because the professor had given the Russians everything. The professor had taken all of the information and put it on a drive that he then gave the Russians. So now Russia holds the fate of the world.

Originally aired: Wednesday August 9, 2017 Writer: Blake Taylor Director: Russell Fine Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Mark Moses (Hugh Keating), John Noble (Nicholas Tanz), Brian Markinson (Randall Calhoun), Erica Luttrell (Claire Rayburn), Raven Dauda (Harris’s Secretary), Vas Saranga (Dexter), Irene Poole (Katya Veselov), Nola Augustson (Mrs. Keating), Martin Roach (Griff), Rory O’Shea (Newscaster), Xavier Schoppel (Security Guard) Summary: Darius recruits Grace, Harris and Liam for a dangerous mission, and Jillian confronts Liam about his secret.

Everything has changed! The EMDrive was in the hands of the Russians and the were naturally going to re- taliate for the theft however the US gov- ernment also needed someone to blame in the meantime. They had given Darius a billion dollars and in return all they re- ceived was a dead probe and a stolen EM- Drive so Harris found himself sidelined when his boss finally returned to deal with the fallout. But one of the things they had to deal with were whether or not it had been the Russians that actu- ally stole their technology. Their spies and satellites hadn’t picked up a single thing and so they knew the EMDrive hadn’t been taken to Moscow. How- ever, Liam had said that was the final destination. He said that Professor Croft had been clear when he said that the guards were going to take them to Moscow where they were supposedly going to start over. So Liam didn’t have any doubts about it being the Russians behind it all and he stuck to his story, yet once he had been dismissed, the Secretary of Defense had considered sending in some troops into Russia to double-check Liam’s story. The Secretary didn’t have many options and his advisors were pushing for a show of strength. Yet, Grace said that there was another option. She said that they could use diplomatic channels to reach out to Russia before they did anything else and so she had been surprised when Harris told her that the Russians had closed all channels. Their rival country had refused to speak to them all together. So, Grace came up with a plan. She said that she knew the Russian diplomat and counted her as a friend so she thought that Katya would open up to her. But Katya had been forced to speak to Grace undercover. She said that she knew about the theft of some object and that her government was being very secretive about what it was. So, Katya had asked Grace if she knew what it was though Grace demurred on the object and all she would tell her friend was that she should go home to her daughter while they were still time. And so, before they said their goodbyes, Katya said that the theft had something to do with Atlas.

13 Salvation Episode Guide

She didn’t know what Atlas was except it had been so important that Russians now wanted retribution. So, Grace went back to work and she told them about everything minus Atlas. She had remembered Harris warning her about it and so she was afraid to let anyone know that she even knew the word. Though with a confirmation about Russia, the Secretary decided to send in the troops. He and his team had found out that the plan carrying the EMDrive had gotten caught in a storm and had been diverted to Serbia. So, the secretary had wanted to send the troops to Serbia and steal their own EMDrive back because he thought that was the only way to get things however Darius had another idea. Darius’s meteorite that Liam used to make the EMDrive had merely been a piece of a much bigger rock. So Darius had wanted to get to that bigger rock, but he had one minor problem. It was owned by his own uncle Nicholas Tanz and Nicholas would never sell it to him even if he knew what it was for. However, Darius knew the layout of Nicholas’s home and so he called in Harris to get his help in extracting the crystal from the rock. He said that it was too heavy to move and that they needed to extract it on sight. And that meant Harris had to go with someone that knew what they were doing. Except Harris was going to take a scientist he knew and Liam wasn’t having any of that. Liam had been forced to tell Jillian the truth after she found his blood-soaked hoodie and she had been left furious with him afterwards. She had told him that he had no right for keeping the truth from her and she had also blamed herself for not seeing what was going on after Amanda had warned her that Liam was involved in something big. But Liam had hated Amanda’s interference and he had warned Jillian that she couldn’t tell anyone about what he told her because it would cause a mass panic. So, Jillian had told him he could go screw himself and then she had gone home to her parents. Jillian wanted to spend what could possibly be her last days on earth with the people she cared about and Liam was no longer on that list. So Liam blamed Darius for the end of his relationship. He had warned Darius not to hire her because then he would have to keep secrets and she would eventually realize that she was being lied to. Yet, Darius hadn’t taken Liam’s words to mean anything and Liam believed that’s what left him in this current predicament. And so Liam had wanted to go get the crystal out of the meteorite because he no longer cared about what happened to him and just wanted to see his project to completion. So, Liam went with Harris to the UK to get the crystal and Grace’s father helped arranged things for them because she’s never actually told anyone that he used to be a spy himself! Though in end they all got what they wanted. They flew to Nicholas’s mansion and despite running into the guards they were able to get what they needed to build a new EMDrive. So, Grace had been so happy to see Harris after everything that she didn’t care about his secrets or her secrets and she just wanted to be with him. But a new problem unfortunately occurred after all they had been through. Harris had called off his boss and they thought that they had averted war however the Russian Government the announced that they were officially closing all diplomatic channels with the US and that they were removing all their diplomats before they too were a victim of the American aggression. So the Russians were voicing their opinions to everyone and rumors implied that they also had their missiles honed in on the US.

Walker Director: Robbie Duncan McNeill Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Jeffrey Nordling (Daniel), Brian Markinson (Randall Calhoun), Erica Luttrell (Claire Rayburn), Trish Fagan (Laura), Raven Dauda (Harris’s Secretary), Daiva Johnston (Millie), Josette Jorge (Karissa), Billy Par- rott (Russ), Andrew Moodie (WIPP Lieutenant), Paul De La Rosa (Gen- eral Higgins), Irene Poole (Katya Veselov), Dorly Jean-Louis (Another Reporter), Gloria Valentine (Valentina), Lovina Yavari (Naomi), Barry Davis (Newscaster), Andre´ Dae Kim (Dylan Edwards) Summary: Grace and Darius slip off to Russia behind Harris’ back in an at- tempt to stop a potential nuclear conflict. Also, Liam seeks solace with Amanda.

The episode begins with Russia hav- ing cut off all diplomatic ties to the United States. Russian missile silos are open and ready to launch. Not only are the Russians ready to shoot missiles at America, they will also shoot down any- thing that the U.S. launches. Tanz thinks he can complete the EM drive relatively soon, but it would be pointless if the Rus- sians just shoot it down before it gets into space. Amanda, the reporter from Capitol Eyes, gives a picture to Liam. The picture is somehow related to Project Atlas. The picture shows Tanz branded technology embedded in a rock. Tanz decides to go to Russia and asks Grace to go with him. He thinks that even though the Russian government won’t talk to , the Kremlin will talk to Tanz. At the Pentagon, orders are given to the U.S.S. Pike aircraft carrier battle group to move into the Baltic. If Russia launches any missiles, they will be intercepted by the navy. Rayburn reveals to Calhoun and Edwards that Katya the Russian ambassador was being surveilled. They have a recording of the conversation between Katya and Grace at the park. They know Grace knows about Project Atlas. In Moscow, Grace meets with Katya. Katya tells Grace that Atlas was a weapons program, but that’s all she knows. In 2013, a meteor hit a remote part of Russia. The catch is, it wasn’t a natural incident. It was Project Atlas. Apparently, the U.S. government somehow crashed an asteroid into Russia. The meteor hit did happen in real life, but the Atlas explanation is a new twist. Katya arranges a secret meeting between Grace and the Russian Defense Minister. However, on their way to the meeting, Grace and Darius are almost killed by a car bomb. They escape due

15 Salvation Episode Guide to Darius’ astute observation of a blinking light near the dashboard of the car. Though, I wonder why that couldn’t have been just an anti-theft device or other benign device. Grace and Darius discover that Katya has been murdered. Rayburn reports to Calhoun that Katya was found murdered in a hotel room that was rented by two Americans, a man and a woman. They (correctly) presume that the reports are referring to Darius and Grace. Calhoun seems to be happy with this development. He thinks he will get rid of two problems without firing a shot. Harris Edwards goes to Tanz Industries and talks to Liam. Edwards wants to try to help but he needs to be in the loop. Edwards also accidentally glimpses a few photos that Liam stole from the reporter’s smartphone. One of the pictures was Grace with 4 containers of plutonium. After learning of the plutonium heist, Edwards suspends Grace’s security clearance, effective immediately. Liam investigates some of the metadata from the photographs taken from the reporter and is able to find an IP address for the hacker group ”Resyst.” He goes to the location alone (which I thought was incredibly dangerous). It turns out that Edwards’ son Dylan Edwards is one of the leaders of the hacker group. As Grace and Darius try to make their way back to Darius’ private plane, they see that the Russian news media have plastered their faces all over. The news is reporting that Russian Ambassador Katya has been murdered and the police are seeking two Americans in connection with that murder.

Dylan tells Liam that Pentagon tech Wal- ter Carnahan was the founder of the hacker group Resyst. Liam is surprised. Personally, I liked this development since it is implied that Carnahan was killed for accessing files related to Project Atlas, and not for accessing the satellite data that Grace had asked Walter for. Grace and Darius have minor dis- guises on. They acquire fake passports and intend to travel out of Moscow by train. However, right before they can board the train, they sense they are about to be caught. Darius and Grace take off their disguises. (Pictured above: Darius wearing a fedora and a pair of glasses, Grace wearing a wig of short black hair). They surrender to the FSB. Darius and Grace are taken to a secret location and Professor Croft arrives. He apparently survived his encounter with Liam. Darius wants to kill Croft as revenge for killing Lazlo, but they need Croft’s help. Croft reveals that Katya was killed because she planned on going public about the asteroid. Both the Russian government and the American government share an interest in keeping the asteroid secret. Croft also reveals that the Russians cannot finish the EM drive themselves. They need Darius’ help. Liam goes to Boston and has one last dance with Jillian. At least, they think it will be their last dance. Croft introduces Darius and Grace to Russian Defense Minister Toporov. Toporov says he’ll only trust Darius and Grace if they drink the tea he provides, which may be laced with poison. They both drink the tea as a sign of trust.

17 Salvation Episode Guide

In a surprise move, Toporov has his men take Croft away and possibly terminated. Toporov doesn’t need Croft anymore if he can have Darius Tanz. The tea wasn’t laced with poison, but there was truth serum and muscle relaxant in it. Toporov asks them what they want. Grace proposes a joint effort to launch the gravity trac- tor and save the world. Darius suggests that to build trust, Russia can send their own scientists to oversee the launch of the EM engine. Back at the Pentagon, one of the analysts announces that the Samson asteroid will cross the ”Rubicon Line” in five days. After that line is crossed, it will be too late to do anything to save the planet. They can try to launch the EM engine with Russia still threatening to shoot it down. However, even if they place missile interceptors in the oceans around Cape Canaveral, there will only be a 50/50 chance the gravity tractor will make it. General Toporov leaves Darius and Grace alone in the safe house as he goes to the Kremlin to discuss the joint venture proposal with his superiors. Darius and Grace have an affair, partially induced by the drugs. However, it seems that some of their feelings for each other are genuine. The next morning, Toporov arrives and says the Kremlin has approved of the plan. When Grace returns home, she is immediately arrested for violation of the Logan Act, which forbids conducting unauthorized diplomatic relations. Grace and Edwards have a very heated conversa- tion at the facility where she is being detained. When Edwards returns to his office, Darius is waiting for him. They also have a heated con- versation. Darius calls the Logan Act an obscure law which nobody ever gets prosecuted under. (Ironically, in real life, there are rumors of various Logan Act violations by various political oper- atives). Darius threatens to go public about the asteroid unless Edwards. Defense Secretary Calhoun gets off the phone with his Russian counterpart. They have agreed to the joint mission. Since the Russians demanded that Darius and Grace lead the joint project, Calhoun decides that Grace will be released. Edwards flirts with a bartender and the two of them soon hook up. I must admit that I am sad to see his and Grace’s relationship fall apart. Jillian returns to Tanz Industries from her time in Boston. Her grandfather had convinced her to return to Liam. Though, Jillian sets that condition that Liam tell her what her job at Tanz Industries is really about. Liam shows her the Salvation/Ark rocketship. I continue to be surprised at how freely Liam shares this secret information. Darius walks Grace back to her home. He suggests that the two of them continue the rela- tionship they started in Moscow. As Grace walks up the stairs to her bedroom, we see a figure hiding in the shadows in Grace’s home. A possible assassin?

Season 1 Episode Number: 9 Season Episode: 9

Originally aired: Wednesday August 23, 2017 Writer: Gavin Johannsen Director: Maja Vrvilo Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Mark Moses (Hugh Keating), Mark Ivanir (Minister Toporov), Brian Markinson (Randall Calhoun), Erica Luttrell (Claire Rayburn), Andre´ Dae Kim (Dylan Edwards), James Gilbert (Mason Dunkirk), Vieslav Krystyan (Dr. Orlov), Josette Jorge (Karissa), Greg Calderone (Ed), Vas Saranga (Dexter), Lovina Yavari (Naomi), Derek Barnes (Intruder), Troy Blundell (Bodyguard), Angela Besharah (Newscaster), Khalid Klein (Flight Director) Summary: Grace narrowly escapes a deadly assassin and Darius and Liam forge unlikely alliances.

At the beginning of the episode, we watch the assassin try to choke Grace to her death. Fortunately for Grace, she had been eating at the time and had a knife handy. Poor timing by the assas- sin. Grace stabs the assassin to get away. A struggle ensues and somehow, Grace manages to kill the assassin. I suppose a desire for life leads people to do extraor- dinary things, but it’s hard to believe a press spokesman with little or no train- ing could kill a professional assassin. After Grace kills the assassin, she calls her dad for help to deal with the sit- uation. Her dad arrives to clean up the crime scene. In a few hours, there will be no blood, no DNA, not a trace of evidence that anything happened. Grace’s dad also advises her to go back to work at the Pentagon as if everything were normal. If and when she comes across a person who is surprised to see her, she’ll know that person was involved with that assassination attempt. At a Pentagon meeting, everyone seems to behave normally. Grace is distracted, trying to figure out if anyone at the meeting wanted her dead. The Russians and the Americans seem to be getting along. They have 72 hours to launch the EM drive before it is too late to save the planet. Grace speaks to Tanz in private and tells him someone tried to murder her. Grace’s dad gave Grace the assassin’s smartphone, which Grace then gave to Tanz. Tanz’ Tess AI decrypts some of the information and determines that the phone has a 710 area code. That is apparently a code reserved for government officials. I had never heard of this. I googled it and it appears to be a real thing. In a bit of a reversal, Dr. Orlov, the chief scientist from the Kremlin, notifies Darius Tanz that the Russian government has revoked the deal. Amanda, the reporter from Capitol Eyes, had been given a memory stick full of information about Project Atlas. Against her editor’s advice,

19 Salvation Episode Guide she decides to publish an article about Project Atlas. Although the Russians had known about Project Atlas, they had thus far believed that Atlas was an accidental strike against Russia. The Capitol Eyes story says the strike was purposeful. When Rayburn notifies Deputy Defense Secretary Edwards about the story, Edwards suggests that the story is true. I know that the reporter couldn’t have known the consequence of her story would be that a mission to save the entire planet would be sidelined. However, I felt that if anyone deserved to be assassinated, it was this reporter. The story really could have doomed the entire planet, even if it wasn’t her intention. The White House denies the Capitol Eyes reports and, in a way, claims it is ”fake news.” There were no sources for the Capitol Eyes report. In order to salvage her credibility, Amanda texts Grace to ask if she will go on the record. Amanda seems to think that Grace was the person who was the secret leak in the first place. Edwards suggests to Calhoun and Rayburn that they should convince the President to apol- ogize. Calhoun refuses and says it will make her look gutless. He also decides that they should launch the EM engine as immediately as possible, since the Russian submarines will not be in firing position until tomorrow. Calhoun orders Edwards to get the launch codes from Darius Tanz. Grace’s father discovers that the assassin’s name is Michael Owens. There isn’t much infor- mation about Owens except that he is a former member of Harris Edwards’ Air Force squadron. Edwards and Rayburn meet with Darius and Grace. Edwards suggests that he is going against the orders of Calhoun and the President. They form some kind of secret plan. Calhoun arrives at Tanz Industries with Pentagon security forces. Darius orders Liam to assist Calhoun’s men load the EM engine. Darius puts his secret plan into play. He tells Liam to call Amanda to call the reporter Amanda to get her contact with the hacker network Resyst. (Didn’t Liam already meet Dylan last episode? Why does he need Amanda?) Calhoun launches the EM engine. Unfortunately, a Russian submarine was in position to launch a missile at the EM engine. I’m not entirely sure what happened with Calhoun’s previous estimate that the Russian subs were not in position. Although U.S. forces launch an interceptor at the Russian missile, there isn’t enough time. The Russian missile destroys the EM engine. Except... it wasn’t the real EM engine. Darius gave the Pentagon a decoy. Grace tells Darius that she suspects Edwards might be involved with her attempted assassi- nation. Darius thinks Edwards is capable of some shady things, but is no assassin. Later, Grace tells Edwards that about the assassination attempt. Edwards is hurt that she would think he was involved. He also asks Grace whether she is romantically involved with Darius. Liam meets with Dylan and the Resyst network. Liam also brings Darius Tanz with him. Tanz asks Resyst to perpetrate a hack against Russia. He wants a cyber blackout against Russia for 20 minutes. At first, Dylan refuses, even though Darius offers one million dollars. However, Dylan gets a message from his ”boss” that the deal is on. The Resyst network will cause the blackout and make it look like a typical summertime blackout caused by overuse of air conditioning. As a blackout sweeps across Russia (and only Russia), Darius launches the real EM engine from his own rocketship facility. I was surprised they didn’t also take down the electric grid elsewhere. Wouldn’t it be too obvious to the Russians that they were targeted? The EM drive activates and it looks like the gravity tractor mission is on the path to being successful. We learn that the Resyst network wasn’t truly interested in Darius Tanz’ one million dollar payment. Resyst wanted access to Tanz Industries’ computer networks, which they now have. That was an interesting subterfuge. Or... maybe Darius knows and pretends to be tricked.

Harvey Director: Dan Lerner Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Sasha Roiz (Vice President Bennett), Brian Markinson (Randall Cal- houn), Erica Luttrell (Claire Rayburn), Andre´ Dae Kim (Dylan Ed- wards), Autumn Reeser (Theresa / Tess), Dean Armstrong (Grant), James Gilbert (Mason Dunkirk), Raven Dauda (Harris’s Secretary), Daiva Johnston (Millie), Josette Jorge (Karissa), Greg Calderone (Ed), Dorly Jean-Louis (Reporter), Colin McClean (Secret Service Agent), Derwin Phillips (Kyle), Doug MacLeod (Chief Justice), Jeff Miller (Jim), Tovah Feldshuh (President Mackenzie), John Noble (Nicholas Tanz) Summary: Grace and Darius seek answers from the President; Harris discovers deadly secrets.

Defense Secretary Calhoun is swimming laps in his pool when he is almost pur- posely drowned by henchman to a guy named Bennett. Bennett warns Calhoun not to ”rock the boat.” When Grace arrives at work at the Pentagon, Darius is waiting for her in her office. He wants to have a meet- ing with the President. The two of them meet with Edwards and Rayburn. Ray- burn says that the President is super- busy. She would need to know the topic of the meeting before approving it. Grace tells Rayburn that someone tried to assassinate her a few days ago. Darius says they traced the phone call back to the White House. Darius also adds that he has known the President since she was Governor Rayburn and she would be willing to see him if they asked. Rayburn reveals that the President is ”unwell.” She has good days, but also bad days. Grace is shocked. Rayburn will not give them a meeting. Darius takes matters into his down hands. He calls Amanda the reporter and agrees to be her source to confirm her story about Project Atlas. Edwards asks Rayburn whether the Pentagon is putting hits on American citizens. Rayburn admits that there might be a certain group or ”inner circle” who might doing so. She doesn’t know the exact players, but she knows Calhoun is involved. After Capitol Eyes publishes a web story about Darius Tanz confirming Project Atlas, Darius also gives a follow up news conference about the project. One of the reporters asks him about the President’s denial. Darius addresses the camera with a message directly for President MacKenzie. He’s awaiting her phone call. Roughly five seconds after the news conference, a team of secret service agents approach Darius and Grace and whisks them away to meet with the president. When Darius and Grace are brought into the oval office, they are greeted by an infuriated Madam President. She is quite displeased that Darius would confirm this ”fake news” about

21 Salvation Episode Guide

Project Atlas. She denies knowledge of Atlas. In addition, if Atlas were real, wouldn’t she know? She thinks that the photo of the meteor fragment with Tanz Industries tech embedded is a doctored photo. Darius tells the president about the assassination attempt on Grace and that they traced the phone call to the White House. The President then gets a serious headache. She asks them what day it is and appears to be disoriented. Harris Edwards has a secret meeting with his former roommate at the Naval Academy. Ed- wards asks his friend for the classified security log of all the people who were at the White House at the time someone from the White House had called Grace’s would be assassin. Once Edwards returns back to the Pentagon, Rayburn tells him they have a big problem. The President has decided to hold a news briefing in the evening. Meanwhile, over at Tanz Industries, the Board of Directors has called a meeting. Actually, it is Darius’ Uncle Nicholas who called the meeting. Nicholas points out that there is a billion dollars missing from the company’s balance sheets. He also points out that in addition to the missing money, Darius has now admitted to being involved in an illegal weapons scheme. Darius responds that his tech was used without his permission or knowledge. Rayburn and Edwards calls Grace in for a meeting. Edwards tells Grace that the President’s planned news conference will have the President publicly apologizing to Russia for Atlas. The President also plans to tell the public about the asteroid Samson. Darius has a private conversation with his childhood sweetheart Tess. He regrets breaking up with her in order to focus on achieving his current success. Tess has separated from her husband, but keeps up appearances for the benefit of her children. Liam interrupts the quasi-romantic moment and informs Darius that the EM engine is not obeying instructions from Earth. Darius wonders if it’s a hack but Liam doesn’t think so. Edwards gets a hold of the White House visitor logs. He shows them to Rayburn. Randall Calhoun arrived at the White House very close to the time Grace’s assassin received the phone call. Edwards thinks it is Calhoun and also believes the President is in danger. Edwards and Rayburn meet with the President to warn her. President MacKenzie informs them that she has fired Secretary Calhoun and names Edwards as acting Defense Secretary. The President asks for his loyalty. Edwards says he can’t promise complete loyalty but he can promise honesty. This is such a weird almost word for word exchange similar to our current president and his former FBI director. MacKenzie agrees to Edwards’ deal. In the spirit of honesty, Edwards recommends against the planned news briefing. MacKenzie insists she must do it. She has a migraine but soon recovers. Darius and Liam figure out that on the current trajectory, the gravity tractor will collide with the asteroid and the fragments will land all across Russia and parts of China. Whoever took control of the EM engine is planning to (once again) use an asteroid as a weapon. Edwards drives to Calhoun’s residence to confront him about trying to kill Grace. Calhoun denies he was involved and warns Edwards that there are much more powerful forces at play. Personally, I did think Edwards jumped too fast to the conclusion that it was Calhoun who ordered the hit on Grace. The list of names on the visitor’s log was quite long. Calhoun decides to leave town and hopefully disappear. Darius has lost the vote by the Board of Directors. He will be replaced as CEO. Darius is infuriated. His friend Tess tries to comfort him, but he tells her to go home and be with her children. Grace witnesses Darius and Tess in their tender moment, and perhaps decides to not pursue a relationship with Darius. MacKenzie starts her speech to the nation. However, she stammers mid-speech and starts to choke. She has a huge headache and Edwards screams for a medic. It is soon revealed that MacKenzie suffered a sudden death. The Vice President is sworn in. It is... . Monroe Bennett, the gentleman from the very beginning of the episode.

Meanwhile, Liam presents Jillian with an unusual proposal.

The Tanz Board of Directors has sus- pended all work done by the ”skybox” think tank. Liam and Jillian chat. Since neither of them have much to do (Liam has lost control of the EM engine, Jillian has no work at the think tank), they de- cide to have a day of ”normalcy.” Liam and Jillian have a fun day at a local park. (pictured above) At the end of the day, Liam asks Jillian to marry him. Liam brings Jillian to Providence, Rhode Island to meet his mother. His mother is a nurse at a hospital who had adopted him when his biological mother, a teenaged girl, abandoned him. He tells his mother that he plans on getting married. Momma Cole asks Liam how long the couple have been together. Liam says 53 days. His mother is disappointed that Liam is acting so impulsively. She tells him that she cannot support his decision. Liam and his mother reconcile. His mother walks Jillian down the aisle in a very small cer- emony, but Jillian bails last minute. When Liam catches up with Jillian, she tells him she still loves him but wants to get married for real sometime in the future. She’ll love him even 130 years from now. Mrs. Cole also eventually catches up with the couple and is relieved the two of them are still together. Nicholas leads the board meeting at Tanz Industries. The company has lost half its value since the U.S. government has cut all ties after Tanz’ latest shenanigans. (which I presume means his press conference and confirmation that the U.S. and Project Atlas was a purposeful attack on Russia). In a little bit of a weird action scene, Darius promises Nicholas that he will divulge the secret project that his R&D division has been working on which has been burning up so much money.

23 Salvation Episode Guide

Darius takes Nicholas on a flight in his private jet. However, it is a ruse. Darius isn’t going to show Nicholas any secret project. Darius threatens to crash the plane unless Nicholas reveals why he seems to dislike Darius so much. Nicholas resists at first but eventually admits that he originally had a romantic relationship with Darius’ mother. After proposing marriage, Nicholas’ bother (Darius’ father) ”steals” the girl and Nicholas has been furious ever since. Later, Darius and Nicholas seem to reconcile. Darius proposes that he be reinstated as CEO of Tanz Industries since he is more capable with regard to the science/engineering aspects of the business. Meanwhile, Darius thinks Nicholas should run the financial aspects of the company. Darius also tells his Uncle Nicholas that he is sorry to hear about Nicholas’ heartbreak. Theresa and Darius attempt to rekindle their romantic relationship. Darius shows Theresa the Salavation/Ark rocketship. Later, Darius tells Tess that although he believes in second chances, he also believes in timing. It is not currently the right time for them to start a relationship and Tess understands. Grace goes to Harris to try to get help with finding her daughter Zoey. Harris is called in by the new president. Rayburn hands Harris a couple of pictures of the people the White House believes are in the ReSyst hacker network. Harris recognizes his son Dylan as one of the people in a slightly obscured picture. Harris goes to Grace and tells her about the Resyst network. He can’t use Pentagon resources to find ReSyst, or else the others. Harris asks Grace to seek help from Darius to locate ReSyst. When Grace arrives at Tanz Industries, she is declared a security breach. It turns out that her phone was bugged by her daughter Zoey. Darius disables the microphone that was planted in Grace’s smartphone. He then traces the ReSyst signal to a warehouse roughly 50 miles from Tanz Industries. Grace and Harris go to the warehouse. Harris, armed with a pistol, decides to go into the warehouse alone. This seemed like a bad idea to me. Alas, my suspicion bares out. It’s a trap and Harris is held at gunpoint. Luckily, Dylan is there to call off his co-conspirators. Harris tries to convince Dylan to abandon the hacker group, but Dylan decides to stay. Harris also tells Dylan he wants to get Zoey to safety. Dylan says he can’t tell his dad where Zoey is, but that she is safe somewhere else. Harris warns his son that the government is close on the group’s heels. He hugs his son goodbye and wishes him well. President Bennett orders a strike team to take out ReSyst, which has been branded a terrorist organization. There was some suggestion earlier by Dylan that the group had made a ”mistake” and possibly killed some National Guard troops. Season 1 Episode Number: 12 Season Episode: 12

Originally aired: Wednesday September 13, 2017 Writer: Mike Werb Director: Greg Prange Show Stars: Santiago Cabrera (Darius Tanz), Jennifer Finnigan (Grace Barrows), Charlie Rowe (Liam Cole), Jacqueline Byers (Jillian Hayes), Rachel Drance (Zoe Barrows), Shazi Raja (Amanda Neel), Ian Anthony Dale (Harris Edwards) Guest Stars: Dean Armstrong (Grant), Greg Calderone (Ed), Karl Campbell (Mer- cenary), Albert Chung (Telemetry), Paul De La Rosa (General Hig- gins), Tovah Feldshuh (President Mackenzie), Natalie Jantzi (Mayra), PJ Lazic (Shadow), Jonathon LeRose (Soldier), Erica Luttrell (Claire Rayburn), Shawn Meunier (Philip), Mark Moses (Hugh Keating), Ngabo Nabea (Todd), Tara Nicodemo (Dr. Michele Rasmussen), Sasha Roiz (President Monroe Bennett), Vas Saranga (Dexter), Catherine Tait (Bernadette) Summary: Darius, Grace and Harris join forces to prove the president was mur- dered. Also, Grace tells Zoe the truth.

The episode starts with something slam- ming into the asteroid Samson. Alarms at the Pentagon’s Project Samson situation room start sounding. It isn’t completely clear what that object was. Seems like just random space debris. With Samson roughly 129 days away from Earth, Liam runs to Darius’ office and shows Darius some new informa- tion. Something has collided with Sam- son, however, there was no change in the asteroid’s path. Darius thinks through the possibilities for the reason. Darius visits Grace’s house. As a coincidence, Harris had already been visiting Grace. Darius had wanted Grace to contact Harris for him, but now he can fast forward one step. Darius tells them both that he theorizes that the asteroid is made up of more iron ore as opposed to the silicates he originally presumed. Therefore, the asteroid is much heavier and denser. The gravity tractor won’t be enough to alter the asteroid’s course. Harris reports this information to Rayburn and President Bennett. Harris recommends turn- ing control of the gravity tractor back to Darius so he can brainstorm a solution. However, the president and Rayburn disagree. They intend to maintain control over the gravity tractor so that they can possibly use the asteroid as a weapon against Russia. We learn a little bit of background on Project Atlas. Russia’s space program was develop- ing weapons of their own and the Atlas strike in Siberia was actually a strike against Russia’s weapons program. If Atlas didn’t happen, the Russians could have eventually created a space weapon that would destroy America’s infrastructure. Darius has chosen his final candidates for his Salvation Ark. He gives the file folders of his final selectees to Liam and asks Liam to run genetic testing and psych profiles. Liam goes to Jillian with the file folders. The final selectees include Harris, Grace, and Darius. Well, well, what a surprise.

25 Salvation Episode Guide

Harris Edwards visits Dr. Rasmussen, former President MacKenzie’s personal physician. She seems to know some secret information but is reluctant to tell Harris. Darius recommends that they dig up the body of former President MacKenzie to verify her cause of death. Harris says they need a secret team and cannot involve the Pentagon. Grace says she knows ”a guy,” who is, predictably, her ex-CIA agent father. On another front, Darius implants a tiny chip in Grace’s hand that will be able to hack the Project Samson computers so that Darius can regain control of the EM engine gravity tractor. Grace successfully pulls off the mission. However, just as she is about to leave, warning alarms start to ring. Multiple Russian and Chinese submarines are moving towards the continental United States. Harris goes to Arlington National Cemetery and reassigns the current guard detail over Presi- dent MacKenzie’s tomb. Grace’s dad’s team is able to excavate the casket, however, it is empty. President Bennett holds a press conference regarding the Russian and Chinese subs. He em- phasizes that although it is only the second week of his presidency, America’s enemies should not think the country is unprepared or in disarray. During the press conference, Amanda the re- porter texts Grace. Amanda had gotten a hold of a draft of MacKenzie’s planned speech. Although the speech itself was somewhat cryptic, Amanda figured out that the reference to ”Wormwood” in the speech was actually a reference to a biblical asteroid-like ”star” that would supposedly wipe out all life on Earth. Although Amanda had threatened to ask President Bennett about the asteroid at the press conference, she did not. She meets with Grace in private later. Amanda appears to have a near emotional meltdown while talking to Grace and wants to make the information public. I don’t want to pick on poor Amanda, but I do think I would’ve had her assassinated. It’s for the greater good. Or perhaps I am just too merciless. Anyway, Grace takes the more diplomatic route and tries to convince Amanda not to go public since it could possibly cause mass chaos and people rioting in the streets. As Grace leaves, we see that an assassin has been trailing either Grace or Amanda. The assassin calls Rayburn, who is in the Oval Office with Bennett. Rayburn seems to give an order to kill Amanda. Back at Tanz Industries, Liam and Jillian find out that they have both passed the genetic screens. So have Harris and Grace. However, Darius has a big red ”disqualified” stamp on his file. Thanks to Grace’s help, artificial intelligence Tess is able to trace that the gravity tractor is being controlled by the U.S.S. Pike, an aircraft carrier sailing off the coast of Florida. However, as Tess is reporting this information, the computer program appears to have a meltdown. It is being hacked. Probably by Resyst. Harris sneaks up on his friend from the Naval Academy (from last episode) who was the head secret service agent for former President MacKenzie. Harris holds him at gunpoint and demands to know more information about MacKenzie’s death. The friend promises to take Harris to the body if Harris puts away his gun. Harris’ friend brings him to a nuclear bunker where MacKenzie is alive but in serious con- dition on life support. The stroke was induced by mercury poisoning. Dr. Rasmussen thinks MacKenzie can make a reasonable recovery in time. Harris tries to convince his Naval Academy friend to help ”reinstall” MacKenzie as president. His friend says that Bennett’s people are too strong. Before they reinstall MacKenzie, they need to be able to prove who tried to kill her. Darius is forced to shut down Tess. The assassin arrives at Capitol Eyes newsroom and shoots Amanda and her boss. Capitol Eyes is torched. However, Amanda survived and presses the ”send” button on her keyboard to a story which will seemingly make Project Samson public.

The episode starts literally with a bang, an explosion that sinks an American air- craft carrier in the Atlantic that had been controlling the gravity tractor headed to the asteroid. The illegitimate President Bennett is pretty sure that the Rus- sians are responsible. Darius knows that Resyst caused the explosion, but is un- able to convince Bennett. Just as Bennett is about to order a counterstrike, Harris places his own plan into motion. He announces that a cred- ible threat to the White House has been detected and that Bennett has to be taken to a secure location, the underground control center beneath the Executive Mansion. The move is a ruse to get Bennett isolated so that he can be taken into custody by loyal Secret Service agents. Meanwhile, President MacKenzie arrives at the Pentagon control center, a document from her physician in hand that states she is fit to resume office. At first confused that MacKenzie is still alive, the Joint Chiefs and members of the cabinet acknowledge her as the legitimate president. In the meantime, Darius regains control of the gravity tractor. Now he and Liam have to figure out how to divert the asteroid, heavier than previously thought because of its iron core. The crisis is compounded when a Russian aircraft carrier is sunk, and the Kremlin blames the attack on the United States, though Darius knows it is Resyst, hell bent on provoking a nuclear war. MacKenzie starts to address the world from the Oval Office to reveal everything. The broadcast is interrupted when news comes that the Russians have launched a against the United States. President MacKenzie sends Harris and Grace to the bunker where
