Boise State men’s tennis has become a Patton has been credited with turning Boise State into a national tennis power familiar player on the national collegiate since his arrival in 1993. COACHING HIGHLIGHTS Patton has put together an impressive 685-321 (.681) record over 30 years During his 30 year coaching career Patton has taken his teams to 17 NCAA as a collegiate head coach, which currently ranks him fifth nationally for most Tournament appearances, won 20 conference championships, earned 23 All- wins by an active NCAA Division I men’s tennis coach. A large part of that American awards, 67 all-conference honorees and 12 conference players of success has come during his 15 years at Boise State, where he has posted a the year. In addition, he has received 19 coach of the year honors: two NCAA/ 334-128 (.723) record while winning nine conference ITA National Coach of the Year, three ITA Mountain championships in three different leagues. Region Coach of the Year and 14 conference coach of the year honors. Since returning to Boise State in 2003, Patton guided the team to Western Athletic Conference titles in OTHER COACHING EXPERIENCE four of seven seasons (2003, 2005-07) as well as a WAC regular season championship in 2009. Patton Patton was the U.S. Collegiate National Team coach has also coached numerous players to All-America the last three years (2009-11) where he guided the status during his Bronco 15 year tenure, including team to two world championships (2009 and 2011) Luke Shields in both singles and doubles, as well as and one runner-up finish.

Unfortunately it was a smaller team than originally envisaged but they enjoyed being shown around the city and also a west coast trip to Muriwai where the gannets nest on one of the few mainland places in the world. Marie, Fanda, Jill, Cecilie, Andras, Pam lunching at a vineyard near Muriwai. We also played a match at the Parnell courts which NZ won, before a most enjoyable cocktail party at the home of our President Des and Jeannette Shaw. It has been agreed with Tennis NZ that there will be a combined ICNZ / Tennis NZ function to be held at the forthcoming Davis Cup Tie against India being played in Christchurch on the 17th – 19th July. Tennis New Zealand has indicated it would work in well with Tennis NZ Board members coming to the tie plus invited guests from both groups, and representatives from the Indian Association. It has been decided that a light luncheon on Saturday 18th July prior to the doubles match would be the best time for the function. Jim Martin will be co-ordinating this and all IC Members from Christchurch and around the country will be invited free of charge with any partners paying a nominal cost still to be decided. Monday, January 5th till Saturday January 10th. Heineken Open (Men). Monday, January 12th till Saturday January 17th French Visit in January . Tuesday 13th -Saturday 17th. Pam recently emailed IC Members re playing against the French Team and associated activities. Please discuss with Lynette, Kevin Long or John Mills fi you would like to play on Wednesday 14th. Thanks to Betty Kayfor offering to help Jill and Lynette with the lunches etc. Bev Billington has sent 2 photos taken many years apart with French player Gail Benedetti (Sheriff) who is now the Vice President of the French International Club and will be part of their team. Although born in Australia Gail is a former No 1 player in France and a Fed Cup team member. She won the doubles at the French Open and more recently has won the 65+ Worlds Singles in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
