The is the fourth port of Europe and an important pillar of the regional and Dutch economy. The port is together with Schiphol Airport and the other ports in the area one large logistic cluster for the international flow of goods to and from Europe.

The Port of Amsterdam (port authority) is responsible for the safe, secure and sustainable coordination of shipping traffic along the – from 12 nautical miles outside the lock of IJmuiden up until the centre of Amsterdam. The port authority ensures the construction and maintenance of the harbour basins, quays and areas. We develop the port area; renting out land and quays to port companies.

The Port of Amsterdam aims to develop the port into a port of Partnerships; with synergies between people and companies; inside and outside the port, regional, national and international. That’s how we contribute to our mission: creating value beyond horizons.

Port of Amsterdam International B.V. (PoAI) is a 100 % subsidiary company of Port of Amsterdam. Through Port of Amsterdam International, the Port of Amsterdam seeks to pass on its broad knowledge of port policy and management, logistics and distribution to assist partners in other countries and at developing ports.

About the job

PoAI is looking for academic students or graduates (masters-degree) who are motivated to work with us and eager to learn; with a special interest in the (international) port business. You are able to work independently and have good analytical skills. You are comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint and master the English language.

You will work within a small team of professionals on ongoing international projects, proposals or exploring new business opportunities. Work could include market research, quantitative analyses, proposal writing and preparing presentations. The working schedule will be flexible; we will agree on a schedule based on your availability and our needs.

You will work from our office in the centre of Amsterdam. 100m from Amsterdam Central Station.
