The Feline Forum August/September 2010 2011 Calendar Caper

The Sixth Annual Cat Caper 5K is rapidly approaching. Please make sure to join us on September 26 for the race, a morning of family-oriented activities, a pancake breakfast, and our raffle featuring gift baskets and gift certificates. We have 26 sponsors for this year’s Cat Caper. Our friends at Aire-Flo have showed their support for this event by joining us as a fea- tured sponsor with their contribution of $2,500. New this year is our Veterinary Circle of Support. For a $50 donation, the veterinarian practice will be recog- nized at the Caper and in a future edi- tion of our Feline Forum as a practice that supports our shelter’s mission and the work we do. Page 4 The Feline Forum August/September 2010 The Vincent Fund: Bert & Liam The Vincent Fund The Vincent Fund was established to help pay for unexpected vital medi- cal care for our shelter cats. The fund is named after Victoria Bonner’s cat Vincent. He was adopted from Cat Welfare in 1985 and sadly died of a terminal illness. “I don’t exactly know what to tell you about Vincent as over the years we have a whole collection of stories that are special to me. As we cat lovers know, all cats are special, but there are a few that are even more special than the rest. Vincent was one of those. I adopted Vincent from Cat Welfare on April 27, 1985. He was two years old. He was my devoted feline companion, sharing my joys and sorrows, for 16 wonderful years --- most of my adult Bert is an adorable black and Liam arrived at the shelter on July life. Permit me to introduce myself. I am Talulah, a female longhaired brown . I am about 4 years old. I’ve been at Cat Welfare since 2007 and I have never been adopted. I wish I could get ad- opted. I see so many of my friends and companions get picked by nice people, yet here I am, just waiting for the right person to walk through the door. Maybe today. Maybe tomorrow. I keep hoping. I am a pleasant cat who likes to sit in laps and who really enjoys people coming by to spend a little time with me. My health is good and my coat is quite nice. I don’t like to brag too much. I also like to play; I am especially fond of laser tag and my technique for trapping that confounded red bug is quite unique. Please stop by for a visit. I am always happy to see a new friend. Who knows? You might be the forever friend I need in my life. I sure could be yours!
