Franz Schubert Chris, a lyric baritone, is a graduate of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and currently a full-time teacher and choir director in the Indian Prairie School District 204. Chris received numerous music honorsChris including DiMarco Illinois Music Education Association district soloist and the Wheaton Concerto Competition honorable mention. His performance of Papageno in Wheaton College’s production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflote was reviewed as “stellar,” “magisterial,” and “nigh ornithological.” In addition to his freelance work and private vocal training at Metea Valley High School, he has sung for two seasons with the St. Charles Singers, led by Jeff Hunt, and one season as a choral scholar at the invitation of Dr. Jerry Blackstone at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Mr. DiMarco will begin his debut season with the Chicago Symphony Chorus in 2020 and is planning to pursue of a master’s degree in conducting/vocal performance.

Chris, Director of Music Ministry at Community UMC, has been active as a pianist and accompanist in the Chicago area for over 30 years and has composed works for solo piano, voice, choir and chamber ensembles. With a MasterChris of Music Garofalo degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, he also maintains a private teaching studio in Westmont and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Downers Grove Music Club, a charitable non-profit musical arts organization. His recordings include: Silhouettes (2005), Soliloquy (1991), Luminaria (1990), Earth Air Fire Water (1989), and Left Brain/ Right Brain (1998). In 1999, he accompanied Henry Pleas on his first CD: Deep River: A Spiritual Journey. Chris’ Suite for Flute, Violin, Cello and Piano and Sonata for Flute and Piano are featured in David Gaynes’ 2013 documentary film “Next Year Jerusalem.” Chris Garofalo is a Steinway Artist. STARS (Spiritual Time And Renewal for Survivors) (for stroke survivors, those with chronic illness, caregivers, and family). Services are designed to provide aSenior safe and caring Ministry structured opportunity Offerings for survivors, their caregivers and interested others to participate in a program specifically designed to support and address the spiritual needs of these individuals. Off Site Services (monthly services held at Brookdale Care Center and the Ecumenical Adult Care Center in Naperville). Residents gather for a time of worship that includes Bible readings, prayer, singing of hymns, a meditation, and communion. These services enrich the lives of the participants by helping them to meet their spiritual needs while enjoying the camaraderie of attending a religious service with other residents. Exercise for Life. This exercise program is tailored to the needs of the mature adult. The group is led by a fitness instructor with experience in working with the special needs of individuals in this age group. Exercises include increasing stamina, strength and flexibility, and balancing skills. Both seated and standing exercises are utilized. Schedule: to be resumed

Visitation. Members of our congregation look forward to being able to visit our seniors in their home. Upon request, one-to-one visits may be scheduled for seniors needing additional companionship and caring. Schedule: to be resumed Upcoming Concert
