1 Introduction

1.1 The purpose of this report is to request Committee approval to declare various areas of land surplus to requirements.

2 Background

. 2.1 The following land sites are held within the Housing Revenue Account and are considered to be surplus to requirements. It is therefore proposed to place the land site areas on the internal surplus property bulletin prior to marketing them externally.

2.2 Land Area at Shieldmuir Street,

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 1, is accessed via Shieldmuir Street, English Street or Ladysmith Street. It extends to a land area of approximately 2,546 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.3 Land Area at Grange Avenue, Netherton, Wishaw

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 2, is accessed via Carbarns. It extends to a land area of approximately 7,490 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.4 Land Area at Pather Street, Wishaw

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 3, is accessed via Pather Street andis opposite a nursing home. It extends to a land area of approximately 2,690 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.5 Land Area at Graham Street, Wishaw

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 4, is accessed via Graham Street and is opposite a car park. It extends to a land area of approximately 115 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.6 Land Area Adjacent to Hillrigg, Wattston,

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 5, is accessed via Hillrigg. It extends to a land area of approximately 2,400 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use. 175

2.7 Land Area - Former Garage Reserve Site, Gartness Drive

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 6, is accessed via Gartness Drive and is opposite the hall and play area. It extends to a land area of approximately 1,540 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.8 Land Area - Former Garage Reserve Site, Greengairs Road

The land'area referred to is identified in Appendix 7, is accessed via Greengairs Road and is opposite a bowling club. It extends to a land area of approximately 1,569 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.9 Land Area at Thankerton Avenue,

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 8, is accessed via Albany Crescent. It extends to a land area of approximately 4,878 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.10 Land Area at Hamilton Road,

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 9, is accessed via Hamilton Road. It extends to a land area of approximately 4,500 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.11 Land Area South and East of Bernadette Crescent,

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 10, is accessed via Bernadette Avenue. It extends to a land area of approximately 400 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

2.12 Land Area at Main Street, Wishaw

The land area referred to is identified in Appendix 11 , is accessed via Main Street and Roman Road. It extends to a land area of approximately 963 m2 or thereby and is not currently in productive use.

3 Recommendations

3.1 It is recommended that Committee approves the areas of land identified within paragraphs 2.2 to 2.12 as surplus to requirements, and that their disposal is progressed in accordance with the Council's policy on surplus land.
