He believes online radio ad dollars under-index their usage because the content consumption experience is misaligned with the content interaction experience. As a trio they played regularly around New York, including the legendary Max’s Kansas City, centering on their collective and varied musical roots and her improvised poetry. The independent single release, Hey Joe/Piss Factory, featured Tom Verlaine. Along with the highly innovative and influential group Television, the trio helped to open up a restricted music scene that centered at CBGBs in New York City. After recruiting guitarist Ivan Kral, they played CBGBs for eight weeks in the Spring of 1975 and then added drummer Jay Dee Daugherty.     Steve Jobs y Bono Bono, el cantante de U2, apreciaba enormemente el poder publicitario de Apple. Su grupo dublinés era el mejor del mundo, pero en 2004 estaba tratando, después de casi treinta años juntos, de darle un nuevo ímpetu a su imagen. Habían creado un increíble nuevo disco con una canción que, según The Edge, el guitarrista de la banda, era «la madre de todas las melodías del rock». Bono sabía que necesitaba encontrar la forma de lograr algo de tirón, así que llamó a Jobs. «Quería algo muy concreto de Apple —recordaba Bono—. Teníamos una canción titulada “Vertigo” que contaba con un dinámico solo de guitarra que yo sabía que iba a ser contagioso, pero solo si la gente llegaba a escucharla muchas, muchas veces». Le preocupaba que la época de promocionar las canciones mediante su repetición incesante en la radio hubiera llegado a su fin, así que fue a visitar a Jobs a su casa de Palo Alto, dio un paseo con él por el jardín y presentó una propuesta poco común. A lo largo de los años, U2 había rechazado ofertas de hasta 23 millones de dólares por aparecer en publicidad. Ahora quería que Jobs los sacase en un anuncio del iPod completamente gratis, o al menos como parte de un intercambio mutuamente beneficioso. «Nunca habían hecho un anuncio antes recordaba Jobs posteriormente—, pero estaban viéndose atacados por las descargas gratuitas, les gustaba lo que estábamos haciendo con iTunes y pensaron que podíamos promocionarlos ante un público más joven». Bono no solo quería que apareciera la canción en el anuncio, sino todo el grupo.
