Vaccination Certificate Required for Travel to Malta (Air and Sea Travel)

Travel to Malta with just a negative PCR test result is no longer allowed. A valid vaccination certificate recognised by the Superintendent of Public Health (age 12+) for a full course of vaccination (2 doses or 1 dose of a single dose vaccine) with EMA approved vaccines (Comirnaty [Pfizer], Jannsen [Johnson & Johnson], Spikevax [Moderna], Vaxzevria [AstraZeneca]), with batches that are authorized by the national regulatory authority of the administering country, with 14 days after the last dose.

The said vaccine certificate must be one which is recognised by the Superintendent of Public Health, namely:

-The Official Maltese vaccination certificate -The EU Digital COVID vaccination certificate, issued by EU, EEA and non-EU countries connected to the EUDCC gateway. The EU Digital certificates now includes certificates from Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and Vatican city. -The NHS (paper or digital) Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccination Certificate -The UAE Vaccine certificate issued by the Dubai Health Authorities with a readable QR Code -The Turkish Vaccine certificate of full course of vaccination. -The CDC Covid-19 Vaccination Record Card: . As of 01 August 2021 this will need to be verified through the VeriFLY app to be accepted as a valid vaccination certificate. MALTA COVID-19 REGULATIONS

All passengers are required to present a completed Public Health Travel Declaration and Passenger Locator Form (PLF) and the Digital Passenger Locator Form accessed from https://app.euplf.eu Exemptions for Travellers

Travellers who cannot get vaccinated due to medical reasons as well as children aged between 5 and 11 years (both ages included) may travel to Malta by presenting a negative PCR test, which must be taken within 72 hours prior to their arrival in Malta. Children falling within this category must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, who in turn must present a recognised vaccine certificate.

Children under 5 years of age do not need a PCR test to travel with their fully vaccinated parents or legal guardians.

Unaccompanied minors (11 years and under) cannot travel to Malta.

Persons may travel to Malta from the countries indicated below provided that they have not been in any other country not listed below in the 14 days prior to their arrival in Malta: Persons travelling to Malta from the below Red countries/Zones must not pass through transit airports in Dark Red Countries/Zones.

Travel Ban (Dark Red List)

Travel to and from other countries which are not featured in the Malta’s Red List in the previous section is not permitted. The Superintendent of Public Health may grant an exemption for travelling for essential or necessary reasons.

In view of the new variant strains of COVID-19, unauthorized high-risk travel to and from the following countries is not permitted unless travellers have spent at least the previous 14 days in one of the countries listed on Malta’s Amber List or Red List before reaching Malta:

Chartering (availability and regulations) No Charter Regulation- Charters are allowed subject to COVID19 protocols – All crew and guests needs to present a vaccination certificate which is recognized by the Superintendent of Health as per above travel information.

Public health measures in place Face Masks

Anyone who has taken both doses of the vaccine, or received the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, and has been fully vaccinated for 14 days, in possession of a vaccine certificate, will be able to stay without a mask in open public places in groups of 2.

Children under the age of 12 may remain without a mask as long as they are accompanied by a fully vaccinated person against COVID-19.

People from the same household, irrespective of the number, can also be together without a mask outdoors.

Masks will still have to be worn in closed spaces.

MALTA COVID-19 REGULATIONS

Public Gatherings

A maximum of six persons from different households may gather in public places. The measure does not apply to persons who live in the same household. Groups of over six persons in public places will be subject to a €300 fine each, unless a social distance of two metres between them is observed.

Bars and restaurants are open until 2am.

Yachts Arrivals All arrivals needs to be approved by local port medic within 24hrs prior entering Maltese Waters after submitting the pre arrival documents required.
