Development of innovative methodologies to retrieve biophysical parameters (soil moisture, evapotraspiration, vegetation parameters, snow parameters) by exploiting synergy of multi-sensor data (optical and radar) and physical based models.

SUPERVISION OF GRADUATE STUDENTS AND POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWS As a private non-profit research institution, we do not grant PhD titles. Therefore, all my PhD students have a formal affiliation to other universities. Since 2001, I have supervised 12 PhD students of the Universities of Teheran (Iran), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cordoba (Spain), Vienna (Austria), and of the Italian universities of Trento, Milan, Rome, Bari and Pavia. I currently supervise four of them. One of my PhD students, Dr. Callegari is now working in Eurac as a post-doc. I have supervised 3 postdoctoral fellows in the Institute for Earth Observation at Eurac Research: Dr. Sarah Asam, Dr. Mattia Callegari and Dr. Carlo Marin. I have also supervised 8 Master students.
