As a soloist he has performed with both the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria on numerous occasions. He has also held numerous guest principal positions with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Tasmanian Symphony. Blair’s true passion lies in chamber music. From 2010-2017 Blair was a member of award winning new music group Syzygy Ensemble. Blair has collaborated with many of Australia’s leading ensembles including the Australian String Quartet, Streeton Trio, Seraphim Trio, Inventi Ensemble and Ensemble Offspring. His numerous recordings are regularly broadcast on ABC Classic FM and 3MBS Fine Music. Blair plays on a very fine cello by renowned modern luthier Adrian Studer. Melbourne-born pianist Caroline Almonte has a reputation as a gifted, versatile and sensitive artist. She has won numerous awards, including the winner of the keyboard section of the ABC Young Performers Awards and first prize at the International Chamber Music competition in Italy, Premio Trio di Trieste. Caroline Almonte studied with Stephen McIntyre at the Victorian College of the Arts before completing postgraduate studies in piano performance at the Juilliard School in New York with Oxana Yablonskaya. Caroline has recorded and produced for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), and teaches piano at the University of Melbourne.
