Franciscan Church the Franciscan Church, built with one nave between 1723 and 1730 in baroque style, can be found in the Castle area. the only original piece of the neo-roman style facade is the gate, facing east, decorated with a keystone. to the left from the gate a marble board commemorates Pál Ányos, the poet priest who is buried in the crypt of the church.

St Michael’s Basilica St Michael’s Basilica, built in the times of the Hungarian ruler Árpád with two towers and three naves, was already mentioned in a document of Pannonhalma Abbey from 1001. the crypt of the cathedral was built in roman style in the 11th century and the sanctuary was added in the 14th century in Gothic style. It gained its current neo-roman style when the cathedral was refurbished between 1907 and 1910. the stained glass windows depict Saints from the Árpád House. the cathedral has been the home of the arm bone relics of the beatified Queen Gisella since 1996.

Veszprém and its surroundings offer an excellent ground for those enjoying cycle tours. Veszprém can be approached by bike from two directions: one route starts from where the no73 road reaches Veszprém and leads to the city centre, and on the other one we can cycle down to lake Balaton, to Balatonalmádi from the city centre. Great news for the cycling community: thanks to the successful project fund applications, path system has been expanded with several kilometres and the connections with the nearby settlements have also been improved. now you can go as far as nemes- vámos on a two-wheeler.
