50-plus Media Outlets Publish CAP Stories about Arkansas Plane Crash
SUMMARY OVERVIEW
When the Arkansas Wing of Civil Air Patrol began searching for a small plane overdue from a flight to Oklahoma began on the evening of Oct. 21, Maj. Blake Sasse, the Arkansas Wing PAO went to work on a press release, which he sent out the next morning as CAP aircrews and a ground team were ramping up. Early that morning, he prepared another with the news that the plane had been located by a CAP ground team in northwest Arkansas. In the meantime, the Oklahoma Wing PAO, Capt. Rick Rutledge, realizing the missing plane was headed for his state and that the occupants were possibly Oklahoma residents, prepared a release as well from his vantage point.
