Erie Art Museum President: Laurie Root John Vanco is Director and Chief Curator of the Erie Art Museum. Since 1968 he has Greeter: Sergio Lopresti organized more than 400 exhibitions. JUNE 28: Vanco has also curated the Museum’s Contemporary Music Series for over 30 years, and the annual Erie Art Museum Blues & Jazz Festival for 25 years. He is a frequent lecturer, Changing of the Guard essayist and exhibition juror and has served on advisory panels for the National Endow- Congrats 2017-2018 ment for the Arts, Meet The Composer Foundation, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, and the Leadership Team! state arts agencies in Pennsylvania, , and . He has served on the Boards of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, Pennsylvania JULY 5: Presenters, and Pennsylvania Federation of Museums. He holds a B.A. in art history and history from Allegheny College. In November 2010, Vanco was honored with the Gover- No Weekly Meeting nor’s Award for the Arts in Pennsylvania. In December 2011 the Erie Art Museum was awarded the nation’s highest honor for museums: The National Medal for Museum JULY 12: Service. At the Annual Meeting of the American Alliance of Museums in April 2015, the Brian Polito Museum received the AAM’s Sustainability Excellence Award for large museums.
