Wanli Wang

Miss Wanli Wang was born and raised in Dalian, China. She started her piano lessons when she was five, and went to the Central Conservatory of Music Gulangyu Piano School in Xiamen when she was in sixth grade, studied with Dr. Yang Yu and Prof. Yuanxizi Li.

Miss Wanli Wang came to the United States in 2012 and studied at Lancaster Mennonite High School and Millersville University Pre-College Music Division Program. She is currently a senior piano performance major student at the Tell School of Music of Millersville University of Pennsylvania, studying with Dr. Xun Pan.

Miss Wang won many prizes and awards include Young Intermediate Group in 12th Jong Kong Piano Competition in 2010; United States Music Open Competition in San Francisco in 2010; the 3rd Kawai Cup Piano Competition in Xiamen in 2009; the 15th Hong Kong Asian Piano Open Competition in 2009; and Young Group of National Furama Koeman Cup Piano Competition in 2005.

Miss Wang won the Louis Vyner Competition in 2020 and will perform the Mozart Piano Concerto in A Major, K. 488 with Millersville University Symphony Orchestra on April 23, 2021.

Miss Wang is going to pursue her master’s degree study at Jacobs School of Music in Indiana University Bloomington to study with André Watts in the fall of 2021.

Victoria Wong

Canadian pianist Victoria Wong first made her orchestral debut at the age of five, and has since then performed on tour with orchestras including the Hong Kong Symphonia, Canadian Sinfonietta, and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. Victoria has frequently performed as soloist throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, at venues including, notably, Hong Kong City Hall, Palace of Grazia and Terezza a Mare in Italy, Shenzhen Performing Arts Theatre, Shenzhen Concert Hall in China, Jordan Hall in the United States, and Koerner Hall and Glenn Gould Studio in Canada.

Frequently performing as concerto soloist with orchestras, she has toured China with the Hong Kong Symphonia performing the Rachmaninov Second Concerto, and has also toured Italy as concerto soloist with the Canadian Sinfonietta. Throughout the years, she has been invited back to perform multiple concertos with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and is also often invited as a guest artist to perform at notable festivals including the 5th Shenzhen Piano Music Festival in China (as concerto soloist with the Hong Kong Symphonia), Note in Citta Festival in Italy, and Westben Arts Festival and Mississauga Polish Festival in Canada. Her various tours in China have covered cities such as Chengdu, Chongqing, Xinxiang, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong to name a few, where one of the recent venues she was invited to perform at was the Chongqing Huangjueping Piano Museum – the world’s largest piano museum – which houses pianos of musical giants such as Liszt and Saint-Saëns. Performances in the upcoming 2021 season include solo and concerto concerts in the United States and China.

Among her numerous awards, Victoria is the First Prize winner of the 2020 Lancaster International Piano Competition, International Fringe Award, 8th EPTA International Piano Competition in Belgium, and national 46th Canadian Music Competition. She is also a top prizewinner at the 4th Canadian Chopin Competition and the 9th Russian Music International Piano Competition. Victoria has interviewed, and performed in a broadcasted recital, for Radio Television Hong Kong Channel 4 (RTHK 4) in Hong Kong, and has also been featured on televised interviews for Fairchild TV and OMNI 2 in Canada. She was the guest star on a televised interview show on Guangdong Radio and Television Station’s “Zhujiang Meeting Room” in China, and was broadcasted in a music video nationwide on Shenzhen Satellite TV in China, playing the piece “Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon” as part of the “Global Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival” program. Victoria was also broadcasted on American television channel Sino TV, in an exclusive feature, as part of their 2021 Lunar New Year program, and is also a “Pianist Star Member” of the Hong Kong Piano Music Association. She is amongst the contestants chosen to participate in the prestigious upcoming 18th Warsaw Chopin International Piano Competition.

Victoria began her musical training in Canada and later went to Shenzhen Arts School in China to study with renowned piano pedagogue Dan Zhao Yi. Upon returning home to Canada, she studied at the Glenn Gould School’s pre-college program, and later received her Bachelors degree at the New England Conservatory of Music with Meng-Chieh Liu. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree at The Juilliard School, under the tutelage of Hung-Kuan Chen. Victoria’s teachers and mentors have also included Matti Raekallio, Marietta Orlov and Aster Lai.

A many-faceted artist, Victoria also enjoys watercolor painting, photography, and composing in her spare time. Her Chinese watercolor paintings have been exhibited in China, and her photography works have been awarded and exhibited in Toronto, Canada. In 2019, her compositions Piano Trio No. 1 “Abyss” (for piano, violin, and cello) and her lieder “Winter Ride” had their premier performances in New York.
