Namboole Rotary Club hosts the District Governor Harish R Bhatt In A lively fellowship

Bweyogerere Namboole continued with raising the ‘District Club’s Rotary Bar’ during yesterday’s District Governor's Visit to the Club. The Club presi- dent called the fellowship to order at exactly 5.30pm with the usual Rotary rituals. The fellowship was attended by over 80% members from Bwey- ogerere Namboole Rotary Club and many other Rotarians from other Clubs in an enriching fellowship in which, President Moses Wangudi took the District Governor and those present in a brief over view of the Club where he highlighted the Clubs plans for each directorate. He introduced the Board members for this Rotary year.

The President later requested the Assistant Governor Rebecca to formally introduce the District Governor. There was total silence as the rich District Governor's CV was being read out. The District Governor then took on his now usual humour addressing the assembly where he continued to express his satisfaction with Bweyogerere Namboole Rotary Club occasionally referring to the Club’s achievements during the 89th DCA. The District Governor informed the members that Good Rotary Clubs are judged on a 5 points scale; 1. The level of membership reten- tion. 2. The Club’s involvement in ser- vice projects. 3. The Clubs support in youth ac- tivities. 4. Support towards Rotary Foun- dation. 5. Club leaders beyond the Club.

The District Governor commended the Rotary Club of Bweyogerere Namboole about their community Service projects and in particular singled out one of the Club’s signature projects; women’s microloans scheme. He revealed to members that many Rotary Clubs had failed in providing this im- pact full service in communities and wondered how Bweyogerere Namboole had exceled with Bulindo Women’s microloans scheme. He requested that a documentation about Bulindo Women's micro loans scheme be made to enable him to share the experience with other Rotary Clubs in the District. The District Governor's empha- sis with the youth was demon- strated in the fellowship when the Interactors of St John Senior Secondary School received 2 Foot Balls that were donated by Rotarian Francis Walakira. The District Governor seized the oc- casion to re emphasise Rotary engaging the youth.

IPP Immaculate in her char- ismatic style, presented the Gift to the District Gover- nor calling upon Bwey- ogerere Members to demonstrate their trade mark happiness to the Dis- trict Governor. This was non other than the Tuli- raba’s trademark!

Among the areas of emphasis by the District Governor was; the Rotary Foundation. To this he encouraged every Club member to at least raise USD 100 towards Rotary Foundation. Better still he urged PHF’s to strive for more stones. He was happy that Bwey- ogerere Namboole RC has almost covered all the 5 areas of Rotary focus. He encouraged the members to fully participate in the intended organised Rotary day that will be held sometime early next year. The District Governor commended the Club’s Past presidents for keeping with the Club. He wondered what really keeps Bweyogerere Namboole highly charged leading to an effective Club, he was impressed by the Club’s trade mark style the Zebra’s who are proud of what we are with an amaz- ing spirit.

He requested for yet another document about how Bweyogerere Namboole runs the Club’s affairs (the Club's leadership style) that really motivates every member to shine, work happily so that he can share the experience with other Clubs in the District.

He extended an invitation for all Rotarians to attend in numbers the DCA that will be held between 13th — 16th May 2015.
