FIDE Trainers’ Commission (TRG)

FIDE EB 3/2013 (Tallinn * 30.09-10.10.2013)

REPORT - August 11 th , 2013

Dear Mr. President,

Here is our Commission’s Report for the FIDE EB 3/2013. We have held our Meeting in Washington DC (08- 11.08.2013), as approved by the last PB. We have noted all proposals and decisions concerning the operation of our Commission and we have informed the Executive Director and we were able to solve in perfect harmony all subjects. Most of the TRG Minutes contents concerns formalities and general every-day work, but there are some issues which should be exclusively decided by the EB. From these extensive Minutes we ask you to approve the following:

1. New TRG Titles: TRG Council voted on applications and confirmed seminar results according to the TRG Guide and approved the attached titles (Annex: 01-TRG-New Titles).

2. FIDE Academies: The Council received two new applications:

2.1. By the Oman CF via the Asian CF: Oman International Academy (Al-Khuwair - Oman). As Oman is not a FIDE registered CF yet, the Asian CF (And Asian Chess Academy) decided to hold it under his auspices, as a branch Academy. The Council positively endorses the Application (Annexes: 02-TRG-Application Academy - Oman CA 1 & 2 & 3 & 4).

2.2. By the South African CF: ChessExcellence (Johannesburg - South Africa). The Council positively endorses the Application (Annex: 03-TRG-Application Academy - South Africa CA 2).

3. TRG New Regulations: The Council prepared the proposed new regulations, which are now completed, based on the experience that we have gathered over the last five years (main and eight appendixes). We did not touch any sensitive subject, but we mainly changed necessary articles to make titles and seminars fairer and clearer to everybody. We ask for approval (Annexes: 04-TRG-FIDE - TRG Regulations - Main & Appendixes 1-8).

4. TRG Budget 2014: The Council prepared the proposed 2014 Budget, as every year. We ask for approval. Note that we handed our detailed Budget analysis to the Treasurer.

5. FIDE Trainers Αwards 2012: As according to the Regulations and the Schedule, our Council completed the procedure and announced the results of this contest. The Award Ceremony took place in Maryland, USA (Hotel Hilton) on August 11 th 2013 (Annex: 05-TRG-FIDE Trainer Awards 2012-Results).

6. TRG Representative in EB: The Council decided that Councilor M.Khodarkovsky will be the official TRG representative in the coming FIDE Congress in Tallinn. As Mr. Khodarkovsky will be attending the EB as a part of USCF delegation, there will be no expenses for our Commission.

With kind regards, The Chairman The Secretary Adrian Mikhalchishin Efstratios Grivas

Councillor Councillor Councillor Uwe Boensch Jovan Petronic Michael Khodarkovsky

Dear Karim, Not possible to send pdfs. I suggest asking your federation to post the books to you. All the best Efstratios

Dear Efstratios, Thank you for your prompt reply and clarifications. I will take contact with Mr Hisham Al Taher to see how it is possible to cooperate with the Asian Chess Federation Academy. Is it possible for you to send me in PDF format the new books that were published by the FIDE Trainers Commission as i will not be able to go to Morocco to take the copies from my Federation. Thank for your help All the best Ismael

Dear Karim Ismael, Thank you for you application. The application is made by a federation, which in this case this is missing. I would suggest for the time being to cooperate with an exciting FIDE Academy (Asian CA for example), as a branch, until the Oman CF is established. Otherwise you have to come-up with a federation to approve your Academy firstly. Academies are approved firstly by the federation, then TRG and then by FIDE Presidential Boards, held every 3 months approximately. As the deadlines for the next, May, PB are over, the next one to be approved is in September. All the best Efstratios

We together with Mr Ameer Al Raisi (National Instructor) from Oman opened a chess Academy in Muscat (Oman) last January. As there is no Chess Federation at the moment in Oman i asked Mr Hisham Al Taher of the Asian Chess Federation if it was possible to be endorsed by the Asian or UAE Chess Federation till the creation of a Federation here. We are already organizing tournaments and we hope that we will be able to organize official FIDE training Camps to improve the level of our Trainers and Trainees!
