"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed." To salute the success of our bravehearts in providing freedom to the country, the 73rd Independence day was celebrated on 15th August, 2019 with a spirit of nationalism and liberty on the grounds of Rajkumar College. The Tricolor was hoisted at school by its President, Raja Shri Tribikram Chandra Deb of Baramba. The National Anthem followed after this and a cultural programme was held to remember the sacrifices of martyrs and freedom fighters.

The Patrika 01 1-5 August ALL INDIA U-14 BOYS IPSC IPSC 2019 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP (Boys)

This event was held from 1st August to 5th August, 2019 at The IPSC Table Tennis Championship, 2019 YPS, Mohali, Chandigarh. Our team played three matches in the (Boys) was held at BK Birla Centre for league category. The first match was played between Lawrence Education, Pune where Divyaman Roy won School, Sanawar and Rajkumar College, Raipur. Lawrence a Silver Medal in the U-19 category of the School, defeated our College by 2-1. In the second match, we championship. were defeated by MNSS, Rai by 0-5. The third match which we won by 5-0 was against Punjab Public School, Nabha.

The Inter set Squash Competition was held from 29th 29th July- INTER SET SQUASH July to 2nd August where the students showed their 2nd August COMPETITION personal skills in the field of squash. The intermediate division was won by Aryans followed by Ranas, Bikrams and finally the Rajputs. In the senior division the prestigious Maharaja M.S. Singh Deo of Surguja Memorial Interset Trophy for Squash was won by Aryans. The second position was won by Ranas and the third and the fourth positions were secured by Bikrams and Rajputs respectively. The Best Squash Player was awarded to Shri Hari Kedia for his excellent performance. Atharv Khandelwal and Suraj Ratre shared the prize for the Most Promising Player.

02 The Patrika 23rd-25th RIDS MUN The students of Rajkumar College continued to show their dominance over August CONFERENCE the MUN conferences by showing their skills and talent in the Raipur International Diplomacy Summit held from 23rd to 25th August at N.H.Goel. The students demonstrated their knowledge and grasp over the

agendas in their respective committees quite brilliantly. The undermentioned students were awarded the prestigious Best Delegate award in their respective committees :- Aaradhya Triphati, Suryan Choudhary and Shruti Agrawal. T h e H i g h C o m m e n d a t i o n award was won by Aditya Goel and Ekjot Chawla. Gursijan Singh was awarded the Special Recommendation award. The Verbal Mention award was won by Lachi Agrawal, Anchal Agrawal, Navya Rateria, Maahi Tiwari, Aashi Saraogi and Uttara Patwa.

31st Aug.-02nd RAIPUR ZONE U-14 GIRLS September,2019 HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

In the School Games State Championship at Pithampur, Raipur Zone defeated the Surguja Zone by two goals to win the semi final. In the final, they played against Kabirdham and won by 1-0 to enter into the Nationals. The five girls who were there in the Raipur zone team were - 1. Ananya Sinha - Class VIII IPSC FOOTBALL TEAM U-14 2. Anisha Paikra - Class VIII BOYS FOR SGFI NATIONALS 3. Megha Dhruv - Class VIII Kunal Kawasi of RKC was selected to play for the IPSC 4. Raj Nandani - Class VIII Football U-14 boys team in SGFI Nationals. His selection 5. Sanjana Nirala- Class VII was done during the IPSC Football Tournament for U-14 Out of these five girls, Ananya and Anisha made it to Boys held at Yadavindra Public School, Mohali. Kunal the National level and represented the State School qualified and played in the SGFI Nationals. team.

The Patrika 05 1st-5th IPSC FOOTBALL Sept. 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP U-17 BOYS

The IPSC Football Championship U-17 boys 2019 was hosted collectively by Pinegrove School and Lawrence School, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The championship started on the 1st of September and concluded on the 5th. The team from RKC, led by Aarav Garg, played commendably in the tournament. The inaugural match was played by RKC against the host, Pinegrove School. The match was a draw with both the teams scoring 1 goal each. Maikaleshwar Raj Singh scored one goal to equal the score. As there were only two teams in that pool, another match was organised between the above two teams to decide the winner. RKC lost to Pinegrove School in this match by 0-1.

29th September IPSC 2019 MUSIC FEST

Our students participated in IPSC Music fest, which was held at Mayo College, Ajmer on 29th September 2019. Our musical team consisted Pratham Dammani, Samkit Jain, Tejas Taparia, Kriti Chandak, Dilpreet Singh, Abhimanyu Sreekumar, Gursijan Singh, Kamakshi Parihar, Aayushi Agrawal, Archi Agarwal, Ria Pandey, Praful Sahu, Archisha Shrivastav, Prem Majhitia, Kohana Diwan, Leisha Jacob, Aryan Mundra, Manvendra Sharma, Adidev Raja Ram. They all performed in various categories and made RKC proud. Abhimanyu Sreekumar emerged as a winner in Indian Classical instrument - Violin (solo category).

OUR ACHIEVERS

The Science Olympiad is an educational foundation and a non profit organisation which promotes Mathematics, Science, English and a few more fields. Under SOF, National Science Olympiad (NSO) is open to the students of classes I to XII. The NSO is conducted at two levels each year. Students are given sets of questions based on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, Science and High Order thinking. Kinshuk Kedia of class VII performed exceptionally well and did the school proud. His hard work earned him a cash prize and a bronze medal. Spell Quest India is an English Vocabulary Enhancement Programme which helps in developing a strong base of English. Improvement in vocabulary and communication skills is the main aim of the programme. Exams are conducted at three levels. Ku Prisha Sanghi and Vyapak Sharma appeared for the exams and were awarded certificates of commendation for their appreciable performances.

06 The Patrika 9th-12th IPSC November 2019 DANCE FEST

Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School, Jodhpur Rajasthan, hosted an IPSC Dance Fest in November 2019, held from 9th November to 12th November. Rajkumar College was one of the thirteen schools which participated in this glorious fest. The students who represented our school were Anusha Sinha, Akshmani Tekam, Aditi Chandravanshi, HiteshiJain, Akanksha Debi, Neha Chelak, Namita Bhuarya, Radhika Agrawal, Swati Agrawal, Jiya Nuna, Bhoomika Kurre, Meenakshi Kanwar, Sandhya Painkra and Ayana Agrawal. The events held were: Lokanuranjan- Group Folk Dance Nrityanjali- Solo Classical Dance Cloud 9- Group Western Dance Abhivyakti- Group Dance Ballad A commendable performance was exhibited by Jiya Nuna at the solo classical event, 'Nrityanjali'. Rest of the Team of students performed excellently in the group dance ballad , 'Abhivyakti' with a strong social message on the third gender for which the students were praised by the judges in their closing ceremony speech. The students also displayed a rhythmic and foot tapping performance in the event 'Lokanuranjan', the group folk dance and bagged an Outstanding Performance prize for it.

12 September INTER SET KABADDI 2019 COMPETITION

Chhattisgarh State Squash Championship was held from 6th to 8th of September, 2019. 1) Udit Dubey (U-15) won the title of State Squash Champion. 2) Divyam Upadhyay (U-11) Runner up 3) Atharv Khandelwal (U-11) 2nd Runner up 4) Shree Hari Kedia (U-14) 2nd Runner up The participants practised hard to become victorious. Each one of them played flawlessly.

4th-6th ALL INDIA IPSC AIR RIFLE AND PISTOL October 2019 SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP PRE STATE SHOOTING TRIALS

08 The Patrika 21st-25th IPSC BADMINTON October 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP (BOYS) The IPSC Badminton Championship was held at BK Birla Centre for Education, Pune from 21st to 25th October, 2019 where Rajkumar College U-14 and U-17 Badminton teams (Boys) gave an outstanding performance. The teams also reached quarter finals making Rajkumar College proud. IPSC TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP (BOYS) organised at the same venue. Divyaman Roy won the silver medal in the individual Championship.

SCHOOL STATE SWIMMING, WATER POLO, BASKETBALL, TABLE TENNIS AND BADMINTON COMPETITION

The School State Swimming , Table tennis and Badminton Championship, 2019 was held from 16th to 19th September, 2019 under District Education Office at Ambikapur. The students who did the school proud were- Table Tennis - 1. U-19 , Divyaman Roy won Gold medals in both team and individual events. 2. U-19, Sonakshi Rao won Bronze and Gold medals in team and individual events respectively. Basketball The U-19 team of – Sumati Singh Deo, Aditi Chandravanshi, Aayushi Agrawal and Yashashwi Singh achieved a Silver medal. Water Polo(Boys) The U-19 team comprising- Arunaditya Sharma, Prabhat Bharadwaj, Mayank Raj Bagga, Krishna Agrawal, Naseeb Soni, Om Agrawal and Yogesh Agrawal played the Quarter Finals. The Patrika 11 1st-4th XXXIV ALL INDIA IPSC AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIP October 2019 ALL INDIA IPSC GIRLS (U-17) HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIP

Rajkumar College hosted IPSC Aquatics Championship for the second consecutive year alongwith Girls Hockey (U-17). Excitement, enthusiasm and grandeur marked the inaugural ceremony. The Chief Guest was Raja Shri Tribikram Chandra Deb of Baramba. These events were organized from 1st to 4th of October, 2019 in which 570 students from 27 leading public schools participated alongwith 70 coaches. On the first day, inaugural hockey match was played between the host school RKC and Lawrence School, Lovedale. K J Kirupa scored one goal and Niharika Singhal scored two goals and led their school to victory. Reena Kumari of RKC scored two goals but eventually, Lawrence school won the match against RKC by 3-2. The students of our school strengthened the school's reputation in swimming by proving out to be a tough competitor in each event. The following students did exceptionally well and were awarded for their phenomenal performance in the swimming competition: (1) Alyosha Shah Kunjam won two silver medals and one bronze medal in 200m freestyle. (2) Arya Pratap Singh Judev won one sliver in 100m breast stroke and one bronze medal in 50m breast stroke. (3) Anushka Nag won a bronze medal in 50m breast stroke.

12 The Patrika Individual Prizes for the outstanding performance in 24th IPSC FOR the All India IPSC Girls (U-17) Hockey Championship October 2019 BOYS (U-14)

The U-14 Boys Cricket Team participated in the All India IPSC for cricket held at Vikas Vidyalaya, Ranchi, Jharkhand. The team put up a good show and was praised for its overall performance in the event. The team won comprehensively by beating PPS, Nabha by 9 wickets. Though the students put up quite a fight against the host team and Daly College Indore, they lost to both teams by narrow margins but in no way was their effort less than commendable.

14th to 28th SHOOTING September 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP

29th All India G.V Mavlankar Shooting Championship which was organized by National Rifle Association Of India was held at Ahmedabad. Participants from all over the country took part in this sport of valour and perfection. It was indeed very heartening to see a good crowd assembled to motivate our talented participants to perform at their best. It was a proud moment for Rajkumar College that the three students of our school excelled in Chhattisgarh State Shooting and represented Chhattisgarh in Mavalankar Championship. 16th - 17th OPEN STATE SKATING November 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP The Open State Skating Championship was held from 16th to 17th November, 2019 at Raipur by the State Skating Association of Chhattisgarh. The students of Rajkumar College brought laurels to the school by not only participating but also, bagging many medals in this championship. Some students who performed exceptionally well were in the under 17 category. Ku. Kalyani Das, won three gold medals while Sanket Jain bagged one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. The Equestrian Championship, conducted by the “National Equestrian Association(EFI)” was held at New Delhi from 10th to 29th November, 2019. Two of our students - Chitrabhanu Singh and Jaivanta Singh won two medals each making our school proud at the National level! The glorious Annual Prize Giving Function of our school was held on 20th and 22nd December. On 20th December during the academic PG, the Chief Guest was Raja Shri Tribikram Chandra Deb of Baramba, Chairman Managing Committee, Rajkumar College. A cultural show was held after the prizes were given away by him. On 22nd December, Maharaja T.S Singh Deo, President of General Council, Rajkumar College, graced us with his presence as the Chief Guest. Chief Guest : Maharaja T.S Singh Deo, President of General Council, Rajkumar College He was welcomed by Guard of Honour. Then the event Minister of Health, Chhattisgarh Government proceeded in the Jashpur Hall where the Principal Lt. Col. Avinash Singh (Veteran), presented the school’s Annual Report. After the Annual Report was presented, the Chief Guest addressed the gathering and gave away the prizes. This was followed by Art and Craft exhibition where the students exhibited their creativity. Beautiful paintings and innovative projects were displayed by the students. The exhibition was followed by Chairman’s - at - home, where a wonderful display of , field dances and horse riding skills were performed by the students. The cultural programme for the evening included entertaining performances by the students of our school. The day ended with President’s dinner at the Principal's Bungalow where the management, staff and the guests gathered and concluded this magnificent event on a happy note.

10th July ISC AND ICSE 2020 RESULTS

The roots of true achievement lie in the will to become the best that you can become. - Harold Taylor Council for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and Indian School Certificate declared the results of the examinations conducted by them on 10th July, 2020. The students of our school did the school proud by their phenomenal performances in the boards. In ISC, Science stream Shayan Khan topped by scoring 91.75 percent followed by Soumya Samriddhi Soni scoring 91.25 percent in the second position. In Commerce stream, Sanskriti Nathani secured the first position scoring 96.25 percent and Harshika Punglia stood second scoring 95.25 percent. In Humanities, Yash Majithia scored 94.75 and stood first and Samkit Jain secured the second position. 110 students secured first division and 1 student secured second division. 17 students scored 90 and above percentage and 79 students got above 75 percent. In ICSE, Pratik Tripathi scored 98.60 percent and topped in the city, second position was secured by Anant Kedia scoring 96.60 percent, Tanya Vora stood third scoring 96 percent, Mihika Prasad scored 95.60, Smiti Gupta and Prayukta Karela jointly stood fourth scoring 95.40 percent. 171 students secured first division, 33 students scored more than 90 percent and 123 students got more than 75 percent. The school believes these stars will continue with the same zeal in their future endeavours and make the institution proud.

On 15th August, 2020, the National Flag was hoisted at Lily Pond by the Principal Lt.Col. Avinash Singh.
