And that is our prayer as well this Lent as we seek to do God’s will in our lives, as we draw near to the observance of Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection during Holy Week. Each week both our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services will focus on a different aspect of God’s will at work among us. Biblical characters are used as insightful reference points to guide us in closely following our Lord day by day. Join us on Sunday mornings as our worship will center around accomplishing God’s Will through the characters that we will encounter in God’s Word. We will also be having an Adult Educational time following the services in which we will continue to explore the topic of the day. Come again on Wednesday nights as we listen to dramatic adaptations of these scriptural accounts. We hope that you can join us for an enriching and inspirational evening of food, fellowship and faith during this Season of Lent. Or is one of the most acclaimed TV events of the year deeply unsatisfying? Sometimes, when you go to live theater, a friend will say that none of the actors seemed like they were in the same play. (Blame the director.) This one performed as if it were intense drama, that one like it was a sketch on SNL and the other like they might break into song at any moment. It’s an unevenness in tone that this sort of reaction is keying in on. That unevenness is there in spades with this docudrama about the OJ Simpson trial. John Travolta is in his own world, but that’s just the most extreme example of a cast that is quite good...but quite good in very different ways almost scene to scene. And it just doesn’t work. The ESPN documentary about OJ’s career is far more compelling than this oddball enterprise.

IMTA ALUMS MARIEL SHEETS & WILLIAM WUNSCH IN THE PEANUTS MOVIE IMTA Press Release November 5, 2015 The Peanuts Movie opens nationwide on Friday, November 5 There are very few children or adults who are not familiar with the Peanuts gang that was created 65 years ago by the late Charles Schultz. There are the comic strips, annual television holiday specials (It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas) that are required viewing in millions of homes, theatrical productions (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Snoopy), greeting cards, merchandise, books…all lasting tributes to the group of children who never age while providing timeless lessons on life and living. With a fresh take on the techniques of production — but without changing the essence of the characters — comes The Peanuts Movie, co-written by Schulz's son Craig and grandson Bryan, along with Cornelius Uliano. This is the fifth theatrical Peanuts film after A Boy Named Charlie Brown, Snoopy Come Home, Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown, and Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don't Come Back!!). It is the first to use computer-animation and the first to be filmed in 3D. In The Peanuts Movie, Charlie Brown — the world’s most beloved underdog — embarks upon an epic and heroic quest, while his best pal, the lovable beagle Snoopy, takes to the skies to pursue his arch-nemesis, the Red Baron. Two young IMTA alums were selected to make their big screen debuts voicing characters in the movie: NY11 alum Mariel Sheets as Sally and NY12 alum William Wunsch as Shermy.

This article first appeared in Vierundzwanzigfteljahrsfchrift der Internationalen Maultrommelvirtuofengenoffenschaft (VIM for short) in issue 6 and is published with the kind permission of Frederick Crane The Trump in the Movies up to 1997 by Frederick Crane If you're like me, there's a little sensor built into your nervous system that, whenever the slightest hint of that unique sound of a trump is detected, in a recording, on radio, on TV, in a movie, switches into full command mode, shutting off all irrelevant signals--other sights and sounds, including whatever pressing matters your spouse is trying to talk to you about--and focuses your entire consciousness on that sound. The utter uniqueness of the trump's sound helps. Guitars, lutes, and mandolins all sound somewhat alike; pipe organs, reed organs, and electronic organs are similar to a degree; but nothing sounds like the trump. Combine such an alertness to the trump's sound with a lifelong compulsion to make files, and you've pretty much got me pegged. What follows is merely the disgorging of the contents of my TRUMP IN THE MOVIES file. I have distributed these ninety-odd films into six categories: Animated Cartoons, Westerns, Modern Rural Settings, Comedy, Drama and Biography, and Documentaries and Instruction. These will be discussed in turn, followed by my conclusions and a checklist of films. Not all of these titles can easily be categorized; I don't guarantee that I've got it right. And there are quite a few films that I have not seen or have seen only in part; the discussion of these will be brief.
