He conducted the first study of the impacts of Wal-Mart stores on host towns. Stone retired from Iowa State University in 2004. He is married to Janis Stone, also an ISU retired professor. They have two sons and five grandchildren. OCTOBER SOCIAL AND PROGRAM: ISU Farm Sites October 26, 2017 1:30 – 2:00 Social—please note the time change 2:00 – 3:00 Program Reiman Ballroom, ISU Alumni Center Join Mark Honeyman for an overview of Iowa State’s Research Farms that will include ISU’s research farm organization, programs, locations, plans, livestock, crops, machinery and facilities. Mark Honeyman, associate dean for operations ISU College of Agriculture and Life, provides leadership for strategic planning, budget management, information technology, facilities, land resources, farms and capital projects. Honeyman is a professor of animal science and of agricultural education and studies, and since 1984 has served as coordinator of the statewide ISU Research and Demonstration Farms. He is executive director of two affiliate organizations, the Iowa State University Agricultural Endowment and the Committee for Agricultural Development. OLLI at ISU Lifelong learning opportunities continue to be offered through the OLLI at ISU program and is open to anyone 50+. Class registrations began on Aug. 10 with 32 classes and three one-day trips being offered. Classes range in length from one day, to four weeks, to eight weeks, and topics range from expanding your visual intelligence to cell phone photography. Currently seven classes and one of the one-day trips is closed with waitlists. Classes begin the week of Sept. 11 and there is still time to register at www.isualum.org/olliatisu.
