There was lot of singing going on and also there was some games and body art. The games were giant domino, noughts and crosses, draughts and bean bag throwing. There was a BBQ with sausages, burgers, corn on a cob and salad and fruit. There was some drink and also there was an ice cream van which most service users liked. The prices from the ice cream van were really good. My best bit about Party In The Park was the bean bag throwing, having a double Mr Whippy and watching all the performers and doing line dancing. It was good to see a poi performer because I have never ever been to a circus in my life and I was really impressed with what he did. Thanks to all the EVOS and OT for putting this event on, and thanks to the service users and staff for entertaining us all. RR On 8th September, there was a music night at Social Club to follow up Party In The Park. It was 18:15 when a service user from Wimpole ward started singing. She did four songs. Ironic by Alanis Morrissette, Supersonic by Oasis, Hurt by Johnny Cash and Valerie by Amy Winehouse. The singing was very good. A service user from Icknield ward started singing two different songs at 18:35. The first song was Thinking Out Loud by Ed MY REVIEW Sheeran, the second song was Wake Me Up I sang three Eurovision songs which are (in order of by Avici. appearance): One service user from Orwell ward started • Gravity – Cyprus 2017 – Hovig singing at 18:45 and another service user • Time – Ukraine 2017 – O Torvald from Orwell started singing two song at 18:50. • You are the only one – Russia 2016 – Sergey Lazarev The first song was a Hotel California by The best song that I sang is the Ukrainian Eurovision Eagles. AnnuAl RepoRt 2012 On the cover: Brighamia insignis, commonly known as ‘ālula or ‘ōlulu in Hawaiian, a critically endangered plant endemic to Kaua‘i. This Page: Bamboo Grove, Allerton Garden, Kaua‘i Message froM Chipper WiChMan and Merrill MagoWan 2012 was an important year for the National Tropical Botanical Garden in many ways. One of the most significant was the fact that it marked the first year of our new five-year strategic plan. This plan is our roadmap to achieving our vision and our potential as a leading botanic institution. The plan represents our dreams and aspirations for the future and the first year demonstrated great progress towards the challenging goals we set for ourselves. Two significant key goals of the plan call for the creation of an international center for tropical botany at The Kampong (our garden in Florida) in collaboration with Florida International University and the renewal and improvement of our flagship garden – McBryde Garden. Both of these goals will extend the impact of our organization to a national and international audience as well as help to create a more sustainable organization financially. Significant contributions were received in 2012 towards both of these goals. Another highlight of 2012 was the fall Board meeting held in the United Kingdom. In the 49-year history of our organization, this is the first time the Board has met outside of the United States. The meeting took us to the Eden Project in Cornwall and the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in Scotland where they shared their expertise in innovation through marketing, visitor services and education.
