• Jo Cox was walking towards a library in the town of Birstall (near Leeds) for a meeting with local people. She was the member of Parliament for that area.
• She wanted Britain to stay in the European Union. She wanted Britain to be a welcoming place for people from other countries including refugees escaping the wars in Syria and other places.
• She was shot with a rifle and stabbed with a knife and died within minutes. What was the same about these attacks?
