Palace Entertainment CAPA is a trade association which represents virtually all of California's Pixieland Amusement Park theme, amusement and water parks. Our members directly employ more than 125,000 workers; generate more than $12 billion in annual state Redwood Valley Railway commerce; and form the economic foundation for communities around the Santa Cruz Beach state. Our members range from world renowned destination resorts, to Boardwalk small family-owned entertainment centers.     Belmont Park Rides & Attractions Marketing Research Report Jessica Boyle, Luiz Gonçalves, Aamir Munshi, Alan Pleat, Katya ​ ​ Zubovskaya GSBA 550: Marketing Research Dr. Andrea Flynn University of San Diego School of Business Fall 2019 Executive Summary a) Managerial Decision Problem What is the consumer perception with respect to the current selection of rides and attractions at Belmont Park and what actionable changes could be implemented in the future to bring back consumers? b) Summary of Methods Our research design methods included both exploratory and descriptive research. During phase one of our project we employed exploratory research by conducting in-person Belmont Park surveys with thirteen groups of park guests. These surveys were conducted with visitors at Belmont Park during the weekend on September 28 - September 29, 2019. With our interview guides ready, we were able to get qualitative in-depth insights from these groups of interviewees based on their current and past experiences. This approach ensured that we had a clear understanding of the managerial problem at hand and enabled us to focus our attention on key aspects of the in-park experience based on patterns in guest feedback. During phase two of our project we employed descriptive research methods through the application of an online survey administered electronically through an online questionnaire to members of Belmont Park’s email distribution list. This research method enabled us to test out our exploratory research findings in a more structured and statistically backed format. c) Conclusions and Recommendations Through our exploratory and descriptive research methods we were able to develop several conclusions and recommendations regarding the Belmont Park Rides & Attractions in-park experience.

Santa Monica is a charming seaside town with all of the culture, events and urban amenities of a bustling metropolis. The blend of Santa Monica’s natural beauty, award winning dining, incomparable hotel collection and famed shopping options, all on one of California’s most iconic stretches of shoreline, creates a truly unforgettable seaside destination. LOCATION Santa Monica sits perched on the Pacific Ocean at the crossroads of Pacific Coast Highway and California Interstate Highway 10. Set along 3.5 glistening miles of coastline, the city is bordered by Malibu and Venice and is easily accessible from Los Angeles International Airport (8 mi./13 km), Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport (30 mi./49 km) and Los Angeles Amtrak (13 mi./ 20 km). SIZE 8.3 square miles (22 square km) POPULATION 94,000 COASTLINE AND BEACHES: Broad, glistening beaches stretch for 26 miles along the scenic Santa Monica Bay, with 3.5 of those miles falling within Santa Monica proper. Primary beaches include Santa Monica State Beach and Will Rogers State Beach, both of which are popular for swimming, surfing, running and beach volleyball. CLIMATE Santa Monica enjoys a year-round mild, balmy, humidity-free climate with refreshing ocean breezes and over 300 days of sunshine annually. Winter temperatures average between 53°F (13°C) and 67° F (21° C), with January temperatures often climbing above 70°. ACCOMMODATIONS Santa Monica is home to some of the most unique, celebrated hotels in all of Southern California.
