Turnout Key in Midterm Elections Take the Time to Vote on Election Day Tomorrow is Election Day for the U.S. Congress, the Governor, Senator and legislature for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This election is critical to the survival of labor unions, civil rights and the development of an economy that promotes job creation and decent wages and benefits for working and middle class families. Make no mistake, working people are under attack from the White House, the Republican Congress, and Pennsylvania’s Republican controlled legislature. Tomorrow’s election will play a big role in determining whether we go backwards under the Republicans, or get the chance to shape our own future by putting democrats in control of the U.S. Congress and the Pennsylvania legislature. Many of these races are close. Control of the House could turn on the outcome in Pennsylvania’s First Congressional District, where Scott Wallace (D) is up against Brian Fitzpatrick (R). Wallace, a pro-union democrat, currently leads in the polls by a thin margin. Although some think Fitzpatrick is a “moderate” Republican, defeating him is critical to securing the jobs, rights, and living standards of working people. The Executive Board urges you to vote on Tuesday and support the following candidates:
