During this time I became intensely familiar with the design of Vox and the constraints of that design. I quickly realized there were some elements of the design that weren’t working or that didn’t fit the current needs of the publication. In talking with editorial director Heather Lamb, we determined that Vox was in need of a design update but not a total redesign or change of editorial content. I decided to make this my professional project. My project was mostly born out of practicality and trying to improve the visual presentation of the magazine and make it as useful as possible.
