In Collaboration with Communication just started! In discussion iync.org How to start up a YGN Step 1: Figure out which type of YGN will you have: Independent Entity vs Sub-set of a Professional Society Step 2: Develop your YGN’s Organizational Structure and By-Laws: • Mission statement, goals of activities • Rules of being an “officer”, length of the term Step 3: Come up with a business model plan (funding): • Identify potential organizations from industry, academia and government that can help. • IYNC link “Grants” > “National Network Start-up Grant” for details on how IYNC can help. • Existing YGN to serve as a mentor and exchange lessons learned and best practices IYNC YGN Liaison Chair can assist you with this (Nicholle, [email protected]) iync.org How does IYNC work financially? IYNC is an NGO recognized by IAEA. IYNC is independent and not under the umbrella of any company or organization. All IYNC organizers are volunteers. They don’t receive any salary from their company or from IYNC and work for IYNC on their free time. Companies (not IYNC) support the volunteers and participants to attend the congress. The benefits of IYNC’s biannual congress maintain IYNC. The congress is funded from sponsorship (between 1000 and 45,000 euros) and individual participant’s registration fees (400 euros including meals, technical visit and networking events). You can participate or speak even if your company is not sponsor. Keynote speakers don’t pay any registration fee. IYNC’s funds are distributed to countries for youth activities and to a limited number of participants who need financial support. iync.org Attracting, Developing and Retaining Employees: Success Factors Inspire employees is a constantly evolving challenge Diversity matters and is a means of success: Background and cultures Fostering female talent Create development opportunities iync.org YGNs supports Organizations to Attract, Develop and Retain Talents in Nuclear Attracting Developing • Communicate: Highlight the • Knowledge transfer opportunities role & opportunities in nuclear • Technical training science and applications • Analyze: anticipate needs and • Leadership training expectations • Networking opportunities • Hire: find the best candidates • Experience diversity Attract Develop Retaining Retain • Inspire talents • Volunteer experience • Reward YGNs offer a unique opportunity for organizations to attract, develop and retain talents in nuclear science and applications iync.org IYNC 1st African Youth Nuclear Summit – March 27th 2017, Nairobi Denis JANIN President iync.org IYNC Anniversary: 1997 – 2017 2017 marks a special milestone for IYNC.
