Musical Auditions

BROADWAY REVUE!!! How does the show work? - Large Ensemble - 4 All Cast numbers - 1 All Female number - 1 All male number - 1 All Senior number - The rest filled in with people who want solos or short scenes - You do not have to have a solo or short scene - If you would like to do a solo or a short scene, try to have your song picked out by the first week we are back in school. - Final submissions will be due January 11. Rehearsals

- Rehearsals will be split between singing, dancing and acting - Some nights we will work on the big group numbers and some we will work on solos and scenes - Solos will largely be up to you to rehearse - The directing team will do several check-ins with you and give you notes as necessary - If you need/want additional help, please ask! The Final Cut - At the beginning of March, there will be a day that the directing team sits down and watches all ensemble numbers and all solos and scenes - If your solo or scene does not meet certain performance standards, it will be cut from the show. - You must be ready to perform by that date in March - We won’t necessarily cut anyone, but if you are not ready, your solo or scene will not be a part of the show - Solos and scenes that are professional and entertaining will be the first considered, as there is a limited number of slots available - We aim to have about a 2 hour show (plus 15 min intermission) - - The Final cut

- Additionally, if you are in an ensemble number and you do not know the or choreo by the cut date, you will be cut from that number Auditions

- Video audition of you singing one song to be turned in to the Google Classroom by January 8 at 3:30 pm - Song should be about 30 seconds to a minute, you don’t have to sing the whole song - You must sing with some kind of accompaniment (karaoke track from Youtube or someone playing the piano) - The song should showcase your voice and is preferably a song - It does not have to be the song that you wish to do for a solo in the actual show, although it could be - If you have trouble finding one, you can always sing “God Bless America” Auditions

- We don’t anticipate cutting anyone - Auditions are mostly to see who is serious about being a part of the show - If you need help filming your audition or choosing a song, ask us! This is going to be amazing!

- There is such great amount of freedom with this show! - We can do songs from shows that normally we would never be able to to do - It’s going to be an amazing experience and we cannot wait to get started with you!
