1. RTHK's Putonghua channel interviewed Dr Jun Gu (COMP) on information system for the Science and Technology File program (7/8). (Interview arranged by OPA)

2. UST allies with Zhongshan University to boost academic collaboration HK Economic Times, Ming Pao, , , and HK Commercial Daily (5/8) carried reports on the academic exchange agreement signing ceremony on 4/8. (Press invited by OPA)

3. Dr Kin-Man Lee (CIVL) commented on the repairs to hazardous slopes HK Commercial Daily (5/8) interviewed Dr Lee on the large-scale landslide happpened in Cheung Sha Wan.

4. HK Economic Jnl carried three articles written by two UST's faculty members The articles (4/8, 1/8) were written by Dr K C Wei (FINA) and Dr Y K Kwok (MATH).

5. Dr Francis Lui (ECON) commented on economic issues Wen Wei Po (4/8) and Capital (Issue 116, Jul 97).

6. Dr Justin Lin (ECON) commented on the high grain summer harvest in the Chinese Mainland SCMP (1/8).

7. Pres Woo talked about UST's future development, TLQPR and the practice of "continuous assessment" at UST Ming Pao interviewed Pres Woo and carried a series of special reports (1/8, 31/7 and 30/7) on the above topics.

8. Chief Executive C H Tung as chancellor of seven local universities Six clippings (4//8 - 1/8).

9. SBM's undergraduate degree courses (4/8 and 18/7) briefly introduced the undergraduate courses offered by the departments of ISMT and ECON. Express News (28/7) also carried an overview of all BBA courses offered by local universities. The admission requirements of UST's SBM were introduced. 10. Dr Steven De Krey (SBM) wrote about the evolution of MBA programs in Asian business schools Asian Review of Business and Technology (July 97) carried an article by Dr De Krey in which UST's MBA and EMBA programs were introduced.

11. New dual-major computer science and engineering degree at UST HK Economic Times (Career Times) introduced the new degree course to be offered by COMP in the coming September (31/7). (Follow up on press release)

12. UST's activities mentioned in SCMP's bulletin board column (31/7, 25/7, 24/7 and 17/7). (Information provided by OPA)

13. Distributed Science Park In two news reports on the concept and building of distributed science parks, UST was mentioned. HK Economic Jnl (31/7) and Ta Kung Pao (23/7).

14. Engineering summer camp SCMP's Young Post (31/7) interviewed Dr Helen Shen (SENG) and some campers. (Interviews arranged by OPA)

18. Conference on development economics organized by UST's Centre for Economic Development HK Economic Jnl (24/7) carried an article in which the academic conference was reported.

19. will become "the industrial dragon head" Wen Wei Po (20/7) carried a translation of an article with the above title. UST and Pres Woo were mentioned.

20. Fung Shui of four local universities Next Magazine (Issue 384, 18/7).
