There is no current Council policy documentation specifically relating to supporting community centres. Most community learning and development is delivered in community centres in the context of the Requirements for Community Learning and Development () Act Regulations 2013 and the Strategic Guidance for Community Planning Partnerships: Community Learning and Development (2012). The Scottish Government’s National Performance Framework sets out the strategic objectives for all public services, including those delivering CLD. Within this, CLD’s specific focus is:

 Improved life chances for people of all ages, including young people in particular through learning, personal development and active citizenship  Stronger, more resilient, supportive, influential and inclusive communities.

Council vision and priorities are set out in The East Lothian Council Plan 2017-2022 https://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/info/210603/performance_and_spending/12283/the_east_lothi an_council_plan_2017-2022/1
