From: Sent: 27 March 2020 11:36 To: [email protected] Subject: GE202003362 - ONR resposne to Wokingham Borough Council Local plan Update Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Completed Dear Sir/Madam, In response to your emails dated 3 February and 18 March regarding the 2020 Wokingham Borough Local Plan Update consultation, please find below ONR’s response, which is provided in line with our Land Use Planning policy published here http://www.onr.org.uk/land-use-planning.htm. Since ONR responded to the previous draft Local Plan Update consultation on 21 January 2019 (see email below) the proposed development locations included in the draft local plan have significantly changed. Additionally, the Detailed Emergency Planning Zone (DEPZ) for the AWE Burghfield site has been re-determined by West Berkshire District Council under the Radiation (Emergency Preparedness and Public Information) Regulations (REPPIR) 2019 resulting in a larger DEPZ. ONR’s current position remains that we would be likely to object to: • developments within the DEPZ, unless the West Berkshire District Council emergency planner provides adequate assurance to ONR that any adverse impact on the operability and viability of the off-site emergency plan could be mitigated. • large scale developments within the circular 5km Outer Consultation Zone (OCZ), which extends beyond the DEPZ from grid reference SU684680, unless the West Berkshire District Council emergency planner provides adequate assurance to ONR that any adverse impact on the operability and viability of the off-site emergency plan could be mitigated. ONR has previously responded regarding the two development locations below which are included in both the 2018/19 Local Plan Update consultation and the 2020 Local Plan Update consultation: 1.

  • Lichfield Community Safety Delivery Plan
Lichfield District Community Safety Delivery Plan 2017 - 2020 Foreword Our aim is to ensure that Lichfield District remains one of the safest places in the county and this Delivery Plan will provide the means by which the community safety priorities highlighted in the 2016 Strategic Assessment can be delivered. Members of our Safer Community Partnership will lead on the delivery of our priority actions, but we cannot make this happen on our own. We hope that partners, stakeholders, local people and communities will take responsibility, demonstrate commitment and make a real contribution to help realise our vision for a safe District. The Partnership has embraced a number of changes over recent years, not least the challenges brought about by the current financial pressures experienced by all public sector organisations. Difficult decisions are having to be made which impact on people's quality of life, so it's important we utilise what funding we do have effectively. Other challenges we need to be mindful of are national and international terrorism and violence which has had a high media profile over recent times, together with the extent of child sexual exploitation (CSE) and Modern Day Slavery (MDS) within our communities. Much more emphasis is being placed on identifying and supporting people, especially young people and children, who are vulnerable to any form of exploitation and radicalisation. The opportunities and threats of social media have also become a major consideration going forward as we need to support local residents, especially young people to use it safely. Community safety is a complex and challenging area of work and we are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of all who are driven to continually improve the quality of life for people who live in the District.

Equality and Diversity Strategy 2021 - 2025 2 www.bassetlaw.gov.uk Contents 4 | 1. Foreword 5 | 2. Our Equality Duties 6 | 3. Our Objectives 2020-2024 9 | 4. Our Workforce 12 | Appendix – Bassetlaw Demographic Profile 01909 533 533 3 1. Foreword As a Council, we have a duty to produce a Single Equality Scheme and this Strategy forms our next Scheme for 2021-2025, guiding our approach to increasing opportunities across the District and improving access to Council services. Bassetlaw District Council’s Equality & Diversity Strategy 2021-2025 builds on the foundations of our previous strategy to ensure that equality is further embedded into our policies, procedures and every- day working, and that we embrace diversity and recognise that everyone has their own unique needs, characteristics, skills, and abilities. The year 2020 was an exceptionally challenging year for all of us. The Covid-19 pandemic meant that the Council needed to provide extra support to the most vulnerable in society and find new ways to deliver its services. The next four years will be a critical period for the Council and its partners in ensuring Bassetlaw’s economy can bounce back from the impacts of Covid-19 and Brexit, and that residents and businesses can continue to be supported effectively. The Strategy is the next step in a journey to better understand our communities and anticipate the needs of residents and service users. The Strategy identifies five key objectives for the next four years, and the actions we will take to deliver each of these. The objectives have been identified through our ongoing conversations with residents, and analysing the latest data both internally and externally.
