Families And being grateful November 7th – November 10th Next week, we will begin a two week unit about family and being grateful. The books that we will read are “A World of Families” by Trish Holland and “The Napping House” By Audrey Wood. Please send in or email a family photo that you would like to share. We will be looking at the photos and talking about the special people in each of our families. Please know that I will scan all photos and originals will be returned. We will use a scanned copy of the photos for any activities that may cause damage to any of the pictures, such as an art activity. Our art activity for the week will be to draw a picture of their family at the easel or at the art table. We will also work to make a special red, white, and blue craft that will be used to decorate the gym for the Veteran’s Day assembly next Friday. In the dramatic play area, I will have clothes that the children use to dressing up as a mom, dad, grandmother, or grandfather. The children can dress up and play house I will have a small amount of water in the feeling table and with baby dolls and wash clothes. As the children play in the water, they can wash the babies. I will have towels for the children to use to dry the babies off after they have been bathed. In the block area, the children will be able to continuing to explore the variety of different blocks, vehicles, small toy people, and doll house.

Occupational Therapy (11/02/17) Warm-ups:  Removed letters of the alphabet from therapy putty  Placed letters of the alphabet into therapy putty Pre-writing:  Completed a boy and girl playing in the leaves coloring activity  Drew pre-writing lines and forms Bilateral/fine motor skills:  Snipped and cut paper  Put together and pulled apart linking cubes  Strung ABC beads  Scrabble Alphabet Scoop-scooped up ABC’s with a ladle.
