Snowboarding has been an Olympic sport since 1998. There will be five different snowboarding disci- plines competed in Winter Olympics in Sochi 2014 (half-pipe, parallel giant slalom, parallel slalom, snowboard cross and slopestyle). Most of the snowboard cross and par- allel event competitions are organized by International Ski Federation (FIS). FIS also organizes the World Cup and every second year Snowboard World Championships. Snowboarding environment is challenging. Riders are frequently exposed to training in cold environments and at high altitudes. Because snowboarding is a technical sport snowboarders spend extensive time on-snow training. Apart from that elite snowboard- ers need to have a good physical fitness. Snowboarders experiences high ground reac- tion forces (McAlpine 2010). They also need to have good aerobic fitness, anaerobic capacity as well as good balance and power production capacity (Bakken et al. 2011; Bosco 1997; Creswell & Mitchell 2009; Neumayer et al. 2003; Platzer at al. 2009; Szmedra et al. 2001; Veicsteinas et al. 1984). The first three reports were published by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The fourth report was published by SHARP, the Sport, Health and Activity Research and Policy Center for Women and Girls. SHARP is a research center at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Research on Women and Gender, co-founded by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The fifth report, published in 2017 by the Women’s Sports Foundation, provided the most accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date examination of the participation trends among female Olympic and Paralympic athletes and the hiring trends of Olympic and Paralympic governing bodies with respect to the number of women who hold leadership positions in these organizations. The sixth report examines the same issues for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Chairman Convenes the USSA Board Meeting: Dexter Paine Dexter Paine opened the meeting and provided instructions to the board on how to use the microphones. 1 2. Chairman’s Introduction of Board Members: Dexter Paine Alex Natt took the roll call and confirmed the presence of a quorum. Paine then asked Natt to go through the first few motions. 3. USSA Agenda Approval: Dexter Paine Natt asked for a motion to approve the USSA Board of Directors' agenda as submitted. Motion # 1: To approve the USSA Board of Directors’ meeting agenda .
