Oltre a Ludovico EDALLI nell’Artistica maschile e Veronica BERTOLINI nella Ritmica – seguiti rispettivamente dai tecnici Maurizio Allievi ed Elena Aliprandi – i quali, lo scorso aprile, avevano ottenuto il pass individuale al Test Event di Rio de Janeiro, sono stati convocati dallo stesso presidente federale Riccardo Agabio con propria deliberazione (N. 138 del 5/7/2016) i componenti delle due squadre: L’Italdonne di Artistica, che aveva ottenuto la qualificazione, il 24 ottobre 2015, ai Mondiali di Glasgow sarà composta dalla campionessa del mondo 2006 Vanessa FERRARI, alla sua terza partecipazione olimpica consecutiva, da Erika FASANA e Carlotta FERLITO, presenti entrambe a Londra 2012 e protagoniste, insieme alla stessa Ferrari, del 7° posto finale - e dalle esordienti Martina RIZZELLI – appartenente come le altre tre compagne al C.S. dell’Esercito Italiano - ed Elisa MENEGHINI (Gal Lissone). La squadra sarà diretta dal DTN Enrico Casella insieme agli allenatori Paolo Bucci e Laura Rizzoli. Nella Ritmica, invece, la DTN Marina Piazza e il c.t. Emanuela Maccarani – affiancato come sempre dall’assistente Valentina Rovetta e dal coreografo Gjergj Bodari – potranno contare sul bronzo ai Giochi di Londra, la capitana Marta PAGNINI e sulle altre farfalle dell’Aeronautica Militare, Alessia MAURELLI, Camilla PATRIARCA e Martina CENTOFANTI, tutte esordienti come Sofia LODI (Brixia Brescia) e campionesse del mondo in carica con i 5 nastri.

Meanwhile, Alicia Sacramone couldn't wait. She wanted to get out on the floor, show 'em what she had, and see if it was good enough to save the day. Sacramone did it, coming through with a floor routine full of attitude and glitz, one good enough to rally the Americans to a world championship Wednesday and prove that winning gold medals in gymnastics is more about determination than perfection. And Liukin could finally breathe again.     Chinese debutant gymnasts better than expectation 11:23, September 02, 2007 Chinese gymnasts enjoyed a good start in the Stuttgart World Gymnastics Championships and their performance was "better than expectation," officials from Chinese team said on Saturday. Head coach Lu Shanzhen expressed his satisfaction with the performances of Yang Yilin, Xiao Sha, Li Shanshan and Jiang Yuyuan, the four young gymnasts who made their debut in the world championships. On Saturday morning, the defending champion joined gymnasts from Poland, Hungary and Lithuania to start the qualification round of first group, which lasts from Sept. 1 to Sept. 9. All Chinese gymnasts finished with comparatively good results except Xiao Sha, who dropped from the beam. "We are in the first subdivision and among the first to show up, our performance is good in terms of match time," said Lu. "If they show up during the night or after the opening ceremony (to be staged on Saturday evening), they would stage a better show as they could adapt themselves more to the competition," he said. "The four debutant gymnasts had good performance, which exceeded our expectation we had cast prior to the championships," he added. The head coach cited the uneven bars, the first event of Saturday's qualification for the Chinese team, as supporting example. He said all five gymnasts had staged their performance steadily in the uneven bars, thus opening up a good start for the whole team. "Although Li Shanshan failed to show high-level performance in the uneven bars, but she demonstrated her strength in the beam exercise," he added.
