NATIONAL FOCAL POINTS
1. On 21 December 1976 the General Assembly adopted resolution 31/184» entitled "United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development" ¡> in which, inter alia, it decided to convene the United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development during 1979; it further decided that the Committee on Science and Technology for Development should act as the Preparatory Committee for the United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development, open to the participation of all States, and that the Preparatory Committee should hold its first session early in 1977 and submit its report to the General Assembly at its thirty-second session through the Economic and Social Council at its sixty-third session. 2, Following the first session of the Preparatory Committee for the United Nations Conference on Science and Technology for Development held at New York Headquarters from 31 January to 14 February 1977 (A/32/43), the Secretary-General invited Governments to designate a focal point for Conference activities in order to facilitate communication with the Conference secretariat, 3« This document contains the addresses of the focal points received by the Conference secretariat up to 30 September 1977« It will be updated to include addreases communicated at a later date,,
