Major General C. P. Singh (Retd.) delivered a lecture on 'India as a 21st Century Power' under the National Lecture Series on 5th February 2016 in the University campus. Mr. C. P. Singh emphasised that multi dimensional leadership and increment in the rate of G.D.P. may lead to a prosperous India. He predicted India to be one of the most powerful country by 2050. 2. On 12th April 2016, under the National Lecture Series, a lecture was delivered by Major General A. K. Chaturvedi on 'Water -A future Conflicts between India and Pakistan'. Major Chaturvedi emphasised that water is a major contemporary problem and it may lead to conflict between India and Pakistan. 3. Under National Lecture Series, Prof. Timothy A. Gonsalves, Director of IIT (Mandi) delivered a lecture on 'Innovation for better India'. on 4th May, 2016. In his lecture, he emphasised on the development of the techniques to reduce the costs of products at national and international level. [ 6 ] 1. A conference on ‘Film Making for Science & Communication’ was organised on 21st October 2015 by the Institute of Applied Science in collaboration with the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Experts from Vigyan Prasar, Delhi, were invited to train students from various institutes who participated in the conference. The Senior Director of Prasar Bharti explained in detail about the process of Film Making. 2. A workshop on ‘Internet Governance’ was organised by the Department of Computer Application, Institute on Engineering and Technology on 7th & 8th November 2015. The keynote speaker of the event was Dr. Govind, Chairman of the Internet Society India (Delhi Chapter). Dr. Govind discussed the requirement to make Internet Governance more effective. The Chief guest, Dr. Praveen Mishra, an eminent scientist and Head of the Department of National Research and Education Network of India, explicated the process of development of Internet. 3. A one-day workshop on 'Basics of Photography' was organised on 10th March 2016. In this Workshop students from the various departments of such as, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Department of Visual and Performing Art, Department of Education and Research, Diploma Wing and Institute of Business and Management participated. Mr. Dheeraj Dixit was invited as the keynote speaker on this occasion. Mr. Dixit has served the Board of Control for Cricket in India for more than ten years. He shared his experience with the participants and emphasised that imagination, momentum and rapid decision are the key words to photography. [ 7 ] 4. A two days’ National Conference on 'Advances in Computing Applications' was organised by the Department of Computer Application, Institute of Engineering and Technology on 7th & 8th April 2016. In this conference 32 research papers were presented. Prof. Kasim Rafiq(Retd. Professor A.M.U.), J.P. University was as the Chief Guest for the conference. Prof. Rajeev Saxena, Head of the Computer Science Engineering, J.P. University, Anupshahar was the invited speaker on the occasion. Md. Furkan and Shalendra Kumar, students of B.C.A. Fourth Semester, Mangalaytan University, were awarded the first prize for the posters. Yash Bharadwaj from Hindustan Institute of Managament and Computer, Mathura was awarded the second prize. The prizes were distributed by Dr. (Col.)Nagraj Mantha, Dean -Faculty of Science and Technology . On this occasion, Dr. Aparna Tripathi, Dr. Brajesh Singh, Ms. Deepti Singh, Ms. Nikita Bansal, Mr. Prashant Pandey, Mr. Bunty Kumar were also appreciated for their research contribution. 5. A one- day workshop on 'Resume Writing' was organised on 11th April 2016, by the Institute of Business and Managament. Around 120 students participated in that workshop. The speaker, Dr.Ambrish Sharma guided the students on Summer Internship Programme and Effective Resume Writing. Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr.(Brig.) P. C. Siwach articulated the need of perfecting the art of resume writing. [ 8 ] 6. National Conference on ‘Bio resources as a Key to Value Added Products’ was organised on 29th-30th April, 2016, by the Department if Bio-Technology, Institute of Engineering and Technology. The Chief Guest, Prof. Sanjay Ghosh from IIT - Roorkee, emphasised the necessity, applications and advantages of Bio-fuels. In this conference, a souvenir was released consisting of 33 abstracts for the oral presentation along with 14 abstracts for poster presentation from around 21 educational institutions, universities and research labs of the nation. 7.National Conference on ‘Electrical, Electronics and Industrial Automation (NCEEIA-2016)’ was organised on 18th-19th April 2016, by the Department of Electrical Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology. Prof. S. Basu, (Retd.), Dean and Professor in Electrical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University, was invited as Chief Guest of the Conference. Prof. S.K. Mukherjee and Prof. Salim Beg, experts from Aligarh Muslim University, were among the invited speakers. The recommended papers were presented during the technical sessions of the conference and the abstracts were included in the Conference Souvenir. [ 9 ] 8. A workshop on 'Internet of Things' was organised by the Department of Computer Application on 23rd April, 2016. During this workshop, students were trained for Window Based Mobile Application Development by the trainers from Intelli Rise Tech. Solutions, Noida. 9. A workshop on 'Yoga' was organised on 5th May 2016 in Shipra Hall, Mangalayatan University. In this workshop, Yoga Acharya Mr. Naveen Kumar Jain, instructed the participants about different postures of yoga. 10. A workshop on 'Diabetes' was conducted by the Institute of Applied Science on 7th April 2016. The aim of the workshop was to familiarize the participants about the causes, symptoms and remedies of diabetes. [ 10 ] 1. A Guest Lecture on 'Internet Governance' was organised by the Department of Computer Application for BCA and MCA students on 5th November 2015. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Govind, President, Internet Society (ISOC) India . 2. A Guest Lecture on ‘Programming Paradigm of C’ was organised by Department of Computer Application on 28th November 2015. The lecture was meant for BCA students, it was delivered by Mr. Dheeraj and Mr. Ram Coracle of InfoTech India Pvt. Ltd, Noida. 3. Ex Editor- in- Chief and CEO CNEB, Rahul Dev delivered a Guest Lecture on Journalism on 10th December 2015. Mr. Rahul Dev explained the importance of language in the field of journalism. He also discussed facts of Journalism with the students of Journalism and Mass Communication. 4. A Guest Lecture was delivered on 10th December 2015 by Senior Journalist Mr. Geeteshwar. He addressed the students of Journalism and Mass Communication. Mr. Geeteshwar emphasised that the combination of time management, commitment and hard work is the only key to success in journalism. 5. In the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology, a Guest Lecture was delivered by Prof. Mukhtar Ahmad, AMU on 1st February 2016. on ‘Micro Grid Systems.’ 6. A Panel Discussion was organised on 11th February, 2016 in the University. The purpose of the discussion was to create awareness about climate change. Prof. Sayeed Ahmad Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor A.M.U., was invited as the speaker. Senior journalist and Ex-chief editor of CNEB, Mr. Rahul Dev, Prof. Shakeel Akhtar from Jamia Melia Islamia and dignitaries from Mangalayatan University also took part in the discussion. [ 11 ] 7. A Guest Lecture was organised by the Department of Tourism and Hotel Managament on 15th February 2016.The lecture was delivered by Dr. Jatashankar T i v a r i , P r o f e s s o r f r o m department of Tourism and H o t e l M a n a g e m e n t , Uttarakhand Open University. 8. A Guest Lecture on ‘Consumer Rights’ was delivered in the Institute of Legal Studies and Research (ILSR) by Prof.
