Università degli Studi di Milano Milan and the FuoriSalone architecture Design=Milano is the equation to refer to, in order to understand the Milanese Cortile del 700 Walter Maria de Silva FuoriSalone, an event organized for the first time in 1990 by Interni , when with Audi Salone del Mobile, usually held in Setember, was held instead in April, and that has Cortile della Farmacia and Loggiato Ovest now crossed the boundaries of a conventional market-show, from the point of view Torafu Architects of cultural interest and experimentation, with Panasonic to become a festive event, the design Cortile dei Bagni project, invading the whole city. Kengo Kuma & Associates In Italy, when you speak of design you inevitably end by speaking of Milan. with Salvatori and with Asahi Building-wall, Kajima, That explains why FuoriSalone came into being right in Milan, on home ground, Obayashi, Shimizu, Taisei, Takenaka, Ferragamo Parfums and the development of which seems to be almost unrelenting, as for a week it takes Cortile d’Onore up large areas of the city, that change into showcase “districts” luring the exhibition Flydeas for the City with AgustaWestland so-called “design community”, invading and conquering the city. Furthermore, Archea as years go by FuoriSalone has influenced the city morphology, re-inventing with atelier-a, Architettura Sonora . EXPO Milano 2015 From 1 May to 31 October 2015 Milan will host the Universal Exposition. The theme for this event is Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. In a world where over one billion persons are struggling either with hunger or with obesity, a world that will have a population of 9 billion in 2050, the problems connected with nutrition are becoming extremely urgent. Expo Milano 2015 will approach this theme in economic, scientific, cultural and social terms, gathering intelligence and expertise from all over the world. The participating countries will propose concrete solutions to respond to certain decisive challenges: to ensure the right to healthful, safe and sufficient nutrition for all; to guarantee environmental, social and economic sustainability in the food production chain, and to safeguard awareness of the taste and culture of food. The objective of Expo Milano 2015 is to offer the world new, reasonable and shared guidelines to help win these battles. Outstanding companies on a national and international level have decided to support this project, investing resources and experience for its achievement as Partners of the Universal Exposition of 2015: Accenture, Enel, Fiat-Chrysler and CNH, Intesa Sanpaolo, Samsung, Selex-ES, Telecom Italia, Coop, Came, Cisco, Eni, Eutelsat, Fiera Milano and Illy. Recently agreements have also been made with Ferrero and Technogym. The pavilions will stand on an area of about one million square meters, along the axis of Rho-Fiera and Malpensa. This is a strategic area, connected to two highways, a few kilometers away from the Linate and Malpensa airports, linked by a high-speed rail line and the metropolitan subway system. The Expo Milano 2015 and the thousands of appointments (cultural events and performances) planned for the six months of the event will bring over 20 million visitors to Milan, and 140 nations, as well as delegations of international organizations, civil society and corporations.

AUDI Audi, the premium brand in Volkswagen Group, expresses much of its long history since 1909 in the four rings that form its logo, one each for Horch, Wanderer, DKW and Audi, the four car-makers that established Auto Union AG in 1932. Then, in 1949, the company became Auto Union GmbH, the precursor of Audi as we know it today, representing a fundamental stage in the development of the German marque, on a par with its acquisition by Volkswagen in the period 1964 to 1966. Over the decades, Audi has progressively asserted itself as a car manufacturer with a special focus on technology. Striking examples of technical innovation a re the all-wheel drive which has been a standard feature of Audi cars since the early 1980s, the modern TDI turbo-diesel engines introduced in the 1990s and Audi Space Frame construction technology for aluminium car bodies. The technological achievements embodied in the brand motto “Vorsprung durch Technik”, and constant evolution towards the premium identity now embodied by the brand, are reflected in success both on the race track -12 wins at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the most recent last year with the R18 e-tron quattro, a revolutionary race car that combines diesel engine, hybrid system and four wheel drive in its second consecutive victory at Le Mans - and on international markets. Today Audi is a global car manufacturer. In 2013 Audi sold cars 1,575,500 cars worldwide. In Italy, the Brand with the four rings sold 47,738 cars last year, maintaining the leadership in the premium segment with a market share of 3.66%. The presence of Audi at Fuorisalone of Milan underlines the aim of the Brand: to be “Vorsprung” in every single aspect of design and to be main character of an event in which art, culture and technology are mixed in a unique situation. The activities of Fuorisalone, indeed, give the chance to Audi of showing to the public, from a completely different point of view, the innovative materials and the future shapes that will be shown in the next cars of the Brand of the four rings.

Made with advanced technologies, Laminam sheets combine reduced thickness with large measurements for high resistance to mechanical stress, chemical products, wear, scratching, deep abrasion and flexing; the material is hygienic, resistant to frost, fire, mould and UV rays. The chromatic shadings of the sheets remain constant over time and stand up to all atmospheric conditions. Natural raw materials, sustainable technology and entirely recyclable products are the cornerstones of the brand’s green philosophy.

Orto Botanico di Brera installation Giardino Geometrico project LISSONI ASSOCIATI produced by LAMINAM and LIVING DIVANI In the large space of the garden, true outdoor settings are enclosed in an ethereal pavilion, a temporary work of architecture of large size, light and visually open, where the purified forms of the products of Living Divani furnish an abstract scenario. The company has adapted, alongside new products, some of its iconic pieces, interpreting indoor furnishings for outdoor use. One reaches the pavilion designed by Piero Lissoni along an outdoor path, where elegance and cultural references pay tribute to botanical rarities, surprising the visitor and wrapping them in a magical atmosphere: the innovative Laminam surfaces, which reproduce the materic richness of stone, onyx and marble, form a sort of labyrinth in the greenery, punctuated by the outdoor furnishings of Living Divani in relaxation areas.

Cortile del 700 installation primarchitettura (11 x 11 x h 6,10 m) project WALTER MARIA DE SILVA produced by AUDI The interpretation of design all too often stops at the surface. The formal, emotional and sensorial aspects can constitute an obstacle to overall understanding of the project. primarchitettura observes design as primary architecture, stripping it of its soft aspects, discovering unexpected new formal values, on the borderline with the status of art, a temptation proudly avoided to forcefully reassert the natural force of industrial reproducibility. The container functionally respects the content, freeing its volume from decorative touches and accessories and taking it to a new elevation level. The static quality of the parallelepiped is filtered by a facade panel, where theparametric generation of openings and their interaction with natural light become the interpretation of dynamism and movement, leading features in the design philosophy di Walter Maria de Silva. Inside, an experimental space-frame, a research instrument, and visualizations of design and style concepts, are infinitely reproduced since they are positioned in reflecting containers.

WALTER MARIA DE SILVA (Lecco 1951) began his professional career in the Centro Stile Fiat in Turin in 1972. In 1975 he began to work with the studio Rodolfo Bonetto in Milan, focusing most on the design of car interiors. From 1979 to 1986 de Silva worked at I.De.A Institute, and in 1986 he became the director of the Alfa Romeo design division, bringing a series of innovations to the external design of cars, especially on the front. Among the models he designed, like the 155, the 145, the 146, the GTV and the Spider, the 156 and 147 (both Car of the Year, respectively in 1998 and 2001) stand out, having gained honors for their innovation, and ushering in a new stylistic era for the Italian automaker. In 1999 he joined Volkswagen Group. He moved to Barcelona to work with the Seat brand, redesigning the new Ibiza, Córdoba, León and Toledo models, and creating the Altea. In 2002 he was called to Germany and appointed chief designer at Audi, focusing directly on the style of the company, while continuing to head the Seat design division, and taking on the same role at Lamborghini. That same year, with the new A6, he revolutionized the frontal design of the Audi with the introduction of the Single Frame (or Monoframe), inspired by the Auto Union models of the 1930s, later applied to all the cars of the automaker. Also in 2002, in Barcelona, at the pavilion of Mies van der Rohe, he opened the exhibition Autoemoción, presenting a series of everyday useful objects, each one of a kind. In 2005 the Italian designer began to directly supervise the style of Lamborghini, designing the Miura Concept. In January 2007 he became the head of the Volkswagen Group design division, supervising the style of all the group’s brands (Audi, Seat, Lamborghini, Škoda, Bentley, Bugatti, Volkswagen, Porsche). That same year he designed the Audi A5, winning the Design Award 2010. In 2009 he created the new Polo (Car of the Year 2010), and in 2011 he designed the city car up! In 2013 he won the Car of the Year for the fourth time in his career, for the Golf VII. He gained his most important honor in 2011 when the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale assigned him the Compasso d’Oro for the career.

Cortile della Farmacia installation Sliding Nature (4,95 x 9,45 x h 5,5 m) project TORAFU ARCHITECTS - Koichi Suzuno, Shinya Kamuro produced by PANASONIC In the Japanese architectural tradition dwellings are harmoniously integrated with the environment in such a way as to offer views, natural light and ventilation, thanks to sliding doors called fusuma or shoji. Based on this model, the installation proposes a structure that evokes the form of a traditional house, to which a series of sliding doors have been applied to define its contours. When the doors are opened the interior space is free of walls, and interacts with the environment. The house breathes and establishes a new and dynamic relationship with nature, utilizing artificial energy only when necessary. The sliding doors painted in pure white make the structure seem almost abstract, in contrast with the massive forms of occidental architecture. When the doors are opened the ceiling of the house lights up and establishes a dialogue with the LED lamps scattered on the lawn, and with the intermittent glow of the lamps under the portico.

Loggiato Ovest installation Sliding Nature (17 x 2,9 x h2,8 m) project TORAFU ARCHITECTS - Koichi Suzuno, Shinya Kamuro produced by PANASONIC The installation Sliding Nature continues in the Loggiato Ovest, with a series of Panasonic products for the world of cooking oriented towards B2B commerce. Above the installation visitors can see the 250 Airvase by Torafu Architects, hung from the ceiling and printed in the same colors as the decorative motifs on the walls. Among the products on display: a sink, shelves and a mirror. The two installations share the theme of a reintpretation of the age-old skills of the Japanese tradition, combined with the desire to offer solutions and proposals for the future. The Japanese company, in this way, demonstrates that it is capable of responding to needs in every area of the home, offering tools and solutions for every type of living space, from solar panels to lighting to sliding doors, all the way to the world of the kitchen.

The practice TORAFU ARCHITECTS was established in Tokyo in 2004 by the Japanese architects Koichi Suzuno and Shinya Kamuro. Koichi Suzuno was born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1973 and graduated at Tokyo University of Science and Yokohama National University; Shinya Kamuro was born in Shimane Prefecture in 1974 and graduated in Meiji University. The duo has employed architectural thinking to create a wide range of work, including architectural designs, shop interior designs, spatial designs for exhibitions, product designs, spatial installations, stage arts and filmmaking. For every project, they place importance on leaving a blank space, in which the receiver (audience) can take part. Torafu Architects made its debut with Template Ph. Xxxxxxxxxxxxx in Claska, a project that renovated a decrepit hotel in Meguro, Tokyo (2004). Holes in the shapes of hotel items and the typical belongings of a traveler were cut in the wall plates as templates, representing a new relationship between things and an architectural space. In 2007, the unit designed the interior and exterior of Nike 1Love, a special popup shop that sold only Nike’s Air Force 1 shoes in a backstreet of Harajuku (Tokyo) for one year. In 2008 House in Kohoku (Yokohama), featuring a roof with protruding portions that resemble acorn shells, was completed. In 2010 they released Airvase, a container of paper perforated in such way that it can be stretched into a variety of shapes and stand on its own, as if enfolding air. It received several awards, including the Red Dot Award’s Best of the Best of Product Design in 2012. In 2011 Torafu Architects created a huge table of 50m in length entitled Gulliver Table; in the same year their Light Loom, presented at the Milano Salone, created a magical space in which the audience lost the physical sense of a border between fiction and reality. The work received the Grand Prize at the Elita Design Awards. Torafu’s publications include Airvase book and Torafu architects 2004-2011: Idea + Process (Bijutsu Shuppan-sha Co., Ltd., 2011) and the illustrated book Torafu’s Small City Planning (Heibonsha Limited, 2012).

Cortile dei Bagni installation Stone Forest (4,5 x 7,5 x h 3,55 m) project KENGO KUMA & ASSOCIATES produced by SALVATORI fragrance Bianco di Carrara by Salvatore Ferragamo and with Asahi Building-Wall Corporation, Kajima Corporation., Obayashi Corporation, Shimizu Corporation, Taisei Corporation, Takenaka Corporation lighting Viabizzuno In the past years we have developed several projects of micro structures in wood using traditional Japanese techniques combined with new technologies. Now we wanted to explore the same techniques applied to the local stone, to create the same kind of structures to achieve a scale of lightness and craftsman feeling. With this type of system not all the elements are used in full structural efficiency, but the interlaced elements create a micro-mesh relaxing the overall structure. The project, engineered by Ejiri Structural Engineers, was done through the assemblage of stone elements with 9x9 cm section, with different directions, stacked in a three-dimensional space. One of the key challenges was to define the ideal stone module to express lightness with enough strength to support the structure. The Carrara Marble was chosen not only for its aesthetic qualities but for its structural performance. Walking alongside, it gives a perspective of density that changes in a way we cannot foresee.

Salvatori the company as been working alongside architects, designers and builders for more than sixty years, pursuing innovative research that has made it internationally famous in the production of marble and stone materials. The brand was founded just after World War II in an area of Tuscany between Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi that is famed for both its splendid quarries and the traditional stone working techniques that originated there. Gabriele Salvatori, art director of the brand, represents the third generation of the company. With the aim of optimizing stone materials with exclusive treatments that it has developed over the years, Salvatori has made research one of its pillars. Indeed, the company has responded to the challenge of the third millennium toward sustainability and low environmental impact with the creation of Lithoverde. Cortile d’Onore Contest and Exhibition Flydeas For the City by AGUSTAWESTLAND AgustaWestland, a worldwide leader in the production of helicopters that stand out for functional quality, innovation and style, has organized an invitational competition involving nine designers-studios under 40 for the Fuorisalone 2014. The theme is the design of the interiors of the new corporate bi-turbine AW169 helicopter, which will reach the market in 2015. The contest, under the aegis of Interni and with the participation of Giulio Cappellini as tutor, has the goal of gathering a team of designers of international stature in a creative workshop. The designers have been selected on the basis of their professional experiences, not necessarily directly related to the aeronautics industry. The projects will offer new creative contributions not only in terms of styling, but also in terms of architecture, addressing the volumetric aspects and space management, materials and in-flight experience. The winning creative proposal for the AW169 will form the basis for future personalization, with the production of a mock-up that will be presented in China in September. The winners will be announced during the press conference for the presentation of the Interni Event, by the CEO of AgustaWestland Daniele Romiti.

Cortile d’Onore installation Nutrire la Terra (12 x 4,8 x h. 4,17) project ARCHEA - Laura Andreini, Marco Casamonti, Silvia Fabi, Giovanni Polazzi produced by ATELIER-A sound design ARCHITETTURA SONORA lighting Martini Light To give to nature exactly what she gives to man, just as a tree absorbs heat, carbon dioxide and water and then returns a corresponding quantity of things: the installation is a tribute to an Earth that is often thoughtlessly consumed by man, who transforms it in a conscious or involuntary way. The cyclical exchange established between the Earth and every living being always repeats in the same way. In the installation ten large stylized trees come together to create a spatial quality halfway between nature and artifice: they represent a forest that at the same time is an archetype of sacred space and an element of nourishment of the earth. The materials with which the trees are made are natural: lamellar bamboo and wood, in tune with the concept of resources that come from and are returned to nature. The ten trees, five meters high, with a flared conical form, are lined up in two perfectly symmetrical rows; the specular doubling of the foliage creates a concave ogival space that covers and protects. The trunks are like the pillars of a nave in a Gothic cathedral, while the upward flares extend togather nourishment from the environment. The speakers are by Architettura Sonora.

Cortile d’Onore installation Windowscape (8 x 3 x h 4,6 m) project Atelier Bow-Wow - Yoshiharu Tsukamoto, Momoyo Kaijima produced by YKK AP Atelier Bow-Wow, Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima conducted design surveys of various behaviors in architecture that have evolved within different cultural and climatic contexts around the world. Through participating in YKK AP’s Windowology, Tsukamoto Laboratory in Tokyo Tech documented these studies in two books: WindowScape: Window Behaviorology (2010) and WindowScape 2: Genealogy of windows and street scapes (2014). Atelier Bow-Wow believes that windows are useful to integrate the life of people in the eclectic inter-relational network of the city. The WindowScape installation demonstrates the intrinsic properties of windows to act as a threshold between the interior and the exterior of a space, in this case made only of windows, the Kaleido-window. A place resembling a tunnel, composed of a series of windows, based on the concept of the kaleidoscope. Kaleido-window becomes an enchanted space where light and the landscape framed by the windows are randomly fragmented inside, changing in response to the physical movements of visitors. Some of the main concepts from the WindowScape works are illustrated along the way.

Atelier Bow-Wow is a studio based in Tokyo, founded by the Japanese architects Yoshiharu Tsukamoto (Kanagawa, 1965) and Momoyo Kaijima (Tokyo, 1969), who have designed and constructed residences and commercial public buildings above all in Tokyo, but also in Europe and the USA. Urban planning research has led the studio to a sort of experimental social project known as “micro- public-space,” which has been exhibited all over the world. The interests of Atelier Bow-Wow cover a wide range of spheres, from architectural design to urbanism, to the creation of public works based on the theory of “behaviorology.” The term behavior applies to human comportment inside and outside buildings, the combination of different environmental elements like light, air, warmth, wind and water in architecture, and the behavior of the construction with respect to the environment. In architecture “behaviorology” has the aim of deciphering the behaviors of all these elements and summing them up to optimize performance in a specific context. The goal is to position human life inside the relational network of objects and things. Important projects by Atelier Bow-Wow include the Gae House (2003) and the House & Atelier Bow-Wow (2005) in Tokyo, the BMW Guggenheim Lab (2010) in New York, the Logements Sociaux Rue Rebiere (2012) in Paris, the Kitamoto Station Plaza (2012) in Saitama (Japan).Important publications about the studio include Made in Tokyo (Kajima Institute Publishing Co Ltd., 2001), Pet Architecture Guide Book (World Photo Press, 2001), Graphic Anatomy - Atelier Bow-Wow (TOTO Publishing, 2007), Behaviorology (Rizzoli New York, 2010), A Primer (Buchhandlung Walther König, 2013), Graphic Anatomy 2 - Atelier Bow-Wow (TOTO Publishing, 2014). Atelier Bow-Wow has won many prizes, including the Gold Prize of Residential Architecture (1999, Tokyo Architecture Society), the 16th Yoshioka Prize (2000), the RIBA International Fellowship (2012), and the Good Design Gold Award (2013).

Cortile d’Onore installation Scale Infinite (15,3 x 6 x h 5,8 m) project dRMM - Alex de Rijke , Philip Marsh, Sadie Morgan produced by AMERICAN HARDWOOD EXPORT COUNCIL - AHEC and with Arup, Imola Legno, Nüssli The project is the latest iteration of Endless Stair, a structure of Escher-like interlocking staircases originally installed in front of Tate Modern for the London Design Festival 2013. Endelss Stair was conceived as a three-dimensional exercise in modular timber construction, offering the potential for reconfiguration and adaptation to different contexts. Scale Infinite is a further play on perspective: six interlocking flights of steps made from American tulipwood cross-laminated timber (CLT) will be joined together to create a visually arresting form, which offers a contrast to the classical uniformity of the Renaissance building. Endless Stair was the first ever use of hardwood for cross-laminated timber, which is usually made from softwood. American tulipwood (Liriodendron Tulipifera) is an abundant and relatively inexpensive hardwood, strong and stiff for its weight. Testing carried out during production showed that tulipwood is three times stronger than a typical construction softwood, enabling dRMM to design slender components. This project helps demonstrate that hardwoods can add a new dimension to future timber construction.

dRMM is a London-based international practice of architects and designers founded by british architects Alex de Rijke (1960), Philip Marsh (1966) and Sadie Morgan (1969) in 1995. Studio Director Jonas Lencer (1978) joined dRMM in 2004. dRMM is renowned for creating architecture that is innovative, high quality and socially useful. They have Alex de Rijke Sadie Morgan recently been awarded the Building Design (BD) Architect Of The Year 2013 for their significant contribution to British architecture. dRMM’s strong reputation is owed to a talented and resourceful team who work in the belief that outstanding architecture comes through collaboration, lateral design, environmental awareness and building innovation. Almost twenty years after the studio’s inception, dRMM Philip Marsh Jonas Lencer have won numerous awards for their projects in various architectural sectors including residential, education, interior, leisure, culture, workplace, and place-making. Their first project,No. One Centaur Street (2003), won eight awards including the Riba London Building of the Year, whilst in 2010 the community-driven project Clapham Manor Primary School was a runner up for the Riba Stirling Prize. In addition to their larger schemes, dRMM have successfully delivered a variety of smaller projects in the cultural sector including exhibitions in the UK, Norway, Italy and Brazil. They have worked on gallery and exhibition design for institutions such as the Milton Keynes Gallery, Modern Art Oxford, and the Design Museum London. dRMM’s Timber Studio has pioneered the use of engineered timber since 2000. Introducing cross-laminated panel construction to the UK education sector with their award-winning Kingsdale School (2005), they were able to demonstrate how CNC-cut structural timber could outsmart its competitors in versatility, building efficiency, and character. The studio has continued to innovate in engineered timber research. Their landmark project for the London Design Festival 2013, Endless Stair, pioneered the use of hardwood for cross-laminated timber (CLT), demonstrating the structural use of tulipwood - an abundant, relatively inexpensive and sustainable American hardwood – for the first time in architecture. The project was a manifestation of dRMM’s continuing advocacy of timber as a relevant material for 21st century architecture.

American Hardwood Export Council For over 20 years the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) has been at the forefront of wood promotion in Europe, successfully building a distinctive and creative brand for U.S. hardwoods. AHEC’s support for creative design projects, such as the Interni’s ‘Feeding’ New Ideas for the City, demonstrate the performance potential of these sustainable materials and provide valuable inspiration.

Cortile d’Onore installation Beauty Seed (6 x 5,2 x 3,9 m) project PAOLA NAVONE produced by DEBORAH MILANO and GRUPPO POZZI A surprising, disorienting presence, a form with organic and at the same time fantastic features: a gigantic seed that has landed amidst the Renaissance porticoes of the Cà Granda, from mysterious faraway lands, to remind us of the generative and regenerating power of beauty. With its multicolor surface, in a camouflage pattern rendered less dramatic by lively hues borrowed from the color range of 24Ore Silk eye shadow by Deborah Milano, it attracts the gaze and communicates a sense of optimism. A promise of imminent blossoming, where everyone can add the forms and colors they desire; a metaphor that draws on nature and nourishes creative and constructive thinking. A tactful, curious warning for the builders of the metropolis of the future: to be designed according to the non- ephemeral principles of beauty, to dress up with color and lightness, indispensable requirements for human happiness.

Cortile d’Onore installation ENtreePIC (10 x 6 x h 6 m) project NEMESI&PARTNERS - Michele Molè, Susanna Tradati produced by ITALCEMENTI GROUP and STYL-COMP GROUP The installation is a sculptural composition that evokes a botanical system featuring a branching pattern, whose fragmented and chaotic design generates an entropic-morphic system. This system is made with innovative materials and technologies developed by Italcementi and Styl-Comp, the partners of Nemesi for the project of the Italian Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015. The branching pattern of the installation suggests the primitive and at the same time high-tech figuration of the ‘skin’ of the Pavilion. The material shaped iscement with a pale color, a premixed cement whose composition of aggregates has been designed to convey a warm, vibrant materic impact. The interweaving of lines and fragments generates alternation of lights and shadows, empty and full zones, giving rise to a natural architecture, like imagining a forest in which to get lost or to find one’s way. A piece of artificial landscape and architecture, a preview andfirst segment of the great mosaic that will go into the upcoming Italian Pavilion designed by Nemesi&Partners for Expo Milano 2015. The model of the Italian Pavilion, scale 1:50, is on display in the Hall of the Aula Magna.

Portale Hall Aula Magna installation Acheloo (11,86 x h 4,45 m) project CARLO DAL BIANCO produced by MOSAICO+ The installation is a reflection on the essence of the nourishment of man and the planet, where water represents the primary element. The figure ofAchelous , father of all springs and the chief of all river deities in Greek mythology, perfectly portrays this aim: a god of changing appearance, he is depicted as a bull due to the disruptive force of water, or more often as a serpent, alluding to the winding bends in rivers. In keeping with the language of Carlo Dal Bianco, often inspired by the classical legacy, the project is the reinterpretation of an icon of the Greek red-figure pottery tradition, seen in a contemporary light. It narrates the struggle between Hercules and Achelous for the love of Dejanira, a captures the moment of victory of the former over the god of the waters, who is deprived of one of his horns. The image is also the most beautiful iconographic allegory of the efforts of man to tame water, channeling it with works of hydraulic engineering. The macro composition formed by 596 white ABS trays clad in mosaic reinterprets the micro technique of mosaic tiles in a new, contemporary transposition.

CARLO DAL BIANCO, architect and designer, was born in Schio (VI) in 1964; he took a degree in 1990 at the IUAV in Venice and opened his own studio in Vicenza in 1993. The Renaissance city represents a precise choice, the startign point of a deep relationship with the architecture of Palladio. This is the basis of his artistic path and his formal language. From the outset, he has worked on the restoration of historic buildings. The interest in historical architecture and collecting has also led him into the field ofinterior design and design for private clients. In 2001 he designed the new Bisazza headquarters: this was the beginning of a fertile relationship focusing on the definition of the corporate image, the design of collections and of Bisazza flagship stores around the world; in 2004 he founded the Bisazza Design Studio, directing it until 2011. He has been the winner twice, in 2004 and 2006, of the Elle Decoration International Design Award (Edida) in the categories Flooring and Wall Covering for the Pied de Poule and Winter Flowers designs by Bisazza. He has also worked with different companies on the design of furnishing elements and accessories. Since 2008 he has worked with the Fürstenberg porcelain company, designing a haute cuisine service, while his collaboration with Rapsel, in the bath and wellness sector, began in 2010. For Rapsel he has created Grantour, a collection with a tub, a shower platform and washstands based on architectural fragments and images of the ruins of antiquity, souvenirs of formative voyages of young aristocratics in the XVIII and XIX centuries. In 2012 he presented Warp, a bath system in Corian for Rexa Design, including a series of wall coverings, washstands, a tub, a shower platform and cabinets, as well as Charleston for Campeggi, a lamp that can be transformed into a coffee table. That same year he began to work with Mosaico+ of the Mapei Group, for the creation of new collections and the development of an updated corporate image. At the same time, he focuses on the design of stores and displays and the study of decorative themes.

Hall Aula Magna installation The Vertical Village (10 x 5 x h 4 m) project MVRDV - Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs, Nathalie de Vries lighting Viabizzuno The project explores the effect of rapid urban transformation on Asian cities, the qualities of urban villages and the potential of densifying in a vertical, differentiated way.The pressure on urban agglomerations has led to an increasing urbanization. A Block Attack of giant buildings and identical monotonous towers have gradually replaced traditional low rise, small scale, lighter types of architecture: the Hutongs in Beijing, the small wooden houses in Tokyo, the villages in Singapore, the individual houses in Taipei. Socially highly connected communities with individual identities have been replaced by large scale monolithic blocks. The Vertical Village offers a new model: a three-dimensional community that densifies cities in a way that the qualities of the traditional urban village are preserved, increasing personal freedom, diversity, flexibility, neighborhood life and attractivity. It provides housing types with terraces and roof gardens that can be combined with small-scale offices and other programs. A truly self-organized manner of city building that combines individuality, diversity and collectivity with the need for densification. The installation consists of 77 coated foam cushions by which different compositions can be constructed.

MVRDV is a global operating architecture and urbanism practice that was set up in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) in 1993 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. MVRDV engages globally in providing solutions for contemporary architectural and urban issues. A research based and highly collaborative design method engages experts from all fields, clients and Ph. Jan Kopetzky stakeholders in the creative process. The results are exemplary and outspoken buildings, urban plans, studies and objects, which enable our cities and landscapes to develop towards a better future. The products of this approach range from buildings to urban designs, to publications and installations. Realized projects include the Dutch Pavilion for the World in Hannover, the Tv & Radio broadcasting station Villa Vpro, the iconic social housing project Mirador in Madrid, and more recently the Dnb Bank headquarters in Oslo and a public library in Spijkenisse, Netherlands. Current projects include large-scale masterplans for the Almere 2022, for Caen and Bordeaux, an office building in Paris, a market hall in Rotterdam and housing and office projects in Western Europe, Usa and Asia. The work of MVRDV is exhibited and published worldwide and receives international awards. The 70 architects, designers and staff members conceive projects in a multi-disciplinary collaborative design process and apply highest technological standards. Together with Delft University of Technology MVRDV runs The Why Factory, an independent think tank and research institute providing argument for architecture and urbanism by envisioning the city of the future. Hall Aula Magna Model of the Italian Pavilion for Expo Milano 2015 The model, on a scale of 1:50, shows the Italian Pavilion, which corresponds to Palazzo Italia and the other buildings on the Cardo, one of the two main axes of the Master Plan of the exposition area. The Italian Pavilion represents the Italian system at Expo Milano 2015: Palazzo Italia is the symbolic heart of the entire project, which will remain after the event is over, while the buildings on the Cardo are temporary. The overall concept of the architectural design of the Italian Pavilion is that of an urban forest in which the building, through its skin and its volumetric arrangement, takes on the features of an architectural landscape. The volumetric layout of Palazzo Italia is based on four main blocks, organized around a central plaza, connected to each other by bridges; inside, they contain the main functions of the facility: Exhibit Area, Auditorium, Offices and Conference Rooms. The four architectural volumes, like trees, have massive ground-level supports that simulate the great roots of the exhibition itinerary on the ground floor; the same volumes, seen from inside the plaza, opening and expanding upward, reach out with light branches through glass surfaces, creating a dynamic weave of foliage all the way up to the large roof terrace. The branching pattern of the external cladding of Palazzo Italia coherently interprets the theme of the tree of life, inserting it in the form of a petrified forest.

Hall Aula Magna Exhibition Expo Milano 2015 Clusters The Cluster pavilions offer a valid conceptual alternative to the formula of the Joint Pavilions of past Expositions, marginal areas that contained the countries which by choice or due to limited resources did not construct their own individual pavilions. The exhibition features the architectural models of the nine individual Clusters, accompanied by explanatory panels and an album of drawings on each project, positioned on wooden tables at the center of the Hall. On the lateral wall, clad in panels that simulate the formwork system for exposed reinforced concrete, to emphasize the Cluster “worksite,” eight screens show interviews with the designers and a montage of drawings and images to illustrate the results of the research and the design of the individual pavilions. With the new Cluster concept the groupings of nations previous located in the Joint Pavilions become effective attractions, true architectural and landscape hinges positioned along the site itinerary, capable of standing out for the force of their content, and due to the idea of operating as public places with squares for encounters and multifunctional activities (commercial, events, exhibitions, displays), mixed with landscape segments that reflect the identities of the guest countries.

The Clusters of Expo2015 are nine: three with environmental themes - Bio-Mediterranean, Arid Zones and Islands – located inside the Park of Biodiversity; and six positioned along the east-west axis of Expo2015, associated with food groups – fruit and vegetables, spices, cereals and tubers, coffee, cacao, rice. For the architectural and landscape design of the Clusters, Expo2015 has activated an experimental process of great interest, defining a new display model with the Clusters and assigning an International Workshop organized at the Milan Polytechnic in September 2012, involving the university and students from around the world, the task of defining the proposals for each selected area. The Workshop, coordinated by Matteo Gatto (Director of the Theme Areas division of Expo2015) and Luisa Collina (of the Milan Polytechnic, delegate for relations with the Expo appointed by the Rector), has produced a lively, multilinguistic design scenario that has then been developed by different architects involved in the next phase. The collaboration between Italian and foreign universities, professors and students, underlines the importance of the landscape dimension and the value of collective space as the core concern of the various pavilions, the result of the sum of small works of architecture (from 125 m2 up) for the individual participating nations. The nations are guaranteed a suitable degree of recognition and personalization thanks to the displays they directly produce, adding the value of an open system to the projects.

MARINA ABRAMOVIC, born in 1946 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, is without question one of the seminal artists of our time. Since the beginning of her career in Yugoslavia during the early 1970s where she attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Abramovic has pioneered the use of performance as a visual art form. The body has always been both her subject and medium. Exploring the physical and mental limits of her being, she has withstood pain, exhaustion, and danger in the quest for emotional and spiritual transformation. Abramovic’s concern is with creating works that ritualize the simple actions of everyday life like lying, sitting, dreaming, and thinking. As a vital member of the generation of pioneering Ph. Laura Ferrari performance artists that includes Bruce Nauman, Vito Acconci, and Chris Burden, Abramovic created some of the most historic early performance pieces. In spring of 2012 Abramovic launched a major double exhibition at PAC and Lia Rumma Galeria, Milan, showing all new work and unveiling The Abramovic Method to the world.

DANIEL LIBESKIND, B.Arch M.A. BDA AIA, as an international architect and designer is committed to expanding the scope of architecture to involve philosophy, art, literature and music. Fundamental to Libeskind’s philosophy is the notion that buildings are crafted with perceptible human energy, and that they address the greater cultural context in which they are built. Daniel Libeskind established his architectural studio in Berlin, Germany in 1989 after winning the competition to build the Jewish Museum in Berlin. In February 2003, Studio Daniel Libeskind moved its headquarters from Berlin to New York City when Daniel Libeskind was selected as the master

planner for the World Trade Center redevelopment. Ph. Michael Klinkhamer Photography In addition to the New York headquarters, Studio Libeskind has European offices based inZ ürich, Switzerland (Architekt Daniel Libeskind) and Milan, Italy (Libeskind Architettura & Libeskind Design.) Last year Studio Daniel Libeskind celebrated the completion of the City Life residences, part of the redevelopment of the historic Fiera Milano Fairgrounds in Milan, and Kö- Bogen, an office and retail complex inDüsseldorf . The Studio has several projects under construction including three high-rise residential developments: The L Tower in Toronto, Zlota in Warsaw, and Vitra in Sao Paulo; two projects in Asia, the Zhang ZhiDong and Modern Industrial Museum in Wuhan, China, and Corals at Keppel Bay in Singapore; as well as the Centre des Congrès in Mons, Belgium.

Cortile d’Onore Reloaded project MARTINO BERGHINZ produced by OLUCE The installation, at the main entrance of the State University, uses the lamps of the Oluce collection to generate unusual creations based on the archetypal formations of nature. The setting is composed of two works on the ground in tones of white, and two suspension in copper color. In the first case, theAtollo lamps by Vico Magistretti gather to become the atoms of a molecular structure, while the Colombo 626 lamps by Joe Colombo form an inclined plane in the space, thanks to the different positioning of the body of the lamp. The project is completed by two suspended installations that protect an LED source: Kin by Francesco Rota evokes the traditional form of a chandelier, making three concentric circles on different levels, while Lys by AngelettiRuzza uses the great elegance of the design of the bluebell head to make a descending spiral.

Cortile d’Onore Materia Informata (10x15,8x h. 2,4 m) project ALBERTO TORSELLO produced by ABIMIS The installation creates an opportunity to recover the essence of cooking in a primal, essential, sustainable sense of the term, a set of rules, rituals and traditions seen as the weave of an urban fabric. The material is pure steel, which responds to the needs of ecosustainable cooking because it has an unlimited life span and is completely recyclable. Design informs the material, defining details, sculpting the themes of the project in the working and production of the object. The art of cooking as an act, a flow ofactions, gestures and phases that are functionally connected (conserving, preparing, cooking), reinterpreted in the sequence of the installation. The space defines thezones of cooking, where the ‘human ingredient’ moves and gives life to objects. The installation projects the visitor inside the space, bringing out the monolithic, sculptural essence of the object and the plastic character of the material.

Cortile d’Onore The moon exception project ITALO ROTA and DOMUS ACADEMY produced by COSENTINO GROUP Moon Exception is a visionary and inventive exploration of all that has been learned and unlearned through the exploration of space and of our closest satellite, inspiring and prevailing, under the artistic direction of Italo Rota who has chosen the innovative surface Dekton by Cosentino, to give life and form to his project. Moon Exception is all that we have learned, and all that we have yet to learn - following the obsessive and constant idea that the process of invention and the transmission of creative knowledge is a risk, a jump into the void, a production of knowledge made of errors and hazards, just like any respectable space voyage. Inspired by three projects by students of Domus Academy (Reverse City by Jihye Kim, Oasis in a loop of the day by Ksenia Titova, Slow Motion by Peeranat Urairat) an exploration ship will be laid out in still new and exciting territories. The projects have been developed during the workshop The Third Place in collaboration with Cosentino Group on definition of public spaces.

Cortile d’Onore Exhibition and Contest AdesignerAday 2014 by LA TRENTINA With the new edition of the competition AdesignerAday, which refers to the famous saying “an apple a day…”, the Consorzio la Trentina, in collaboration with DesignHUB and POLI.design and in media partnership with the magazine Interni, continues its program of support and promotion of young designers, making space for their creativity. The reflections on the relationship between food and design are the theme of this edition: the young participants (under 35) have developed projects to interpret the different ways of conceiving and expressing the culture of food, in particular of the universe of the apple, in different traditions and lifestyles, through experiences of everyday life. The exhibition presents the seven winning projects, selected by a special jury coordinated by Venanzio Arquilla and Barbara Parini of the School of Design of the Milan Polytechnic, with the participation of the editor of Interni Gilda Bojardi.

Cortile d’Onore Exhibition and Award Young Talent Award by BE OPEN The project of the Young Talent Award focuses on the concept of freedom to create, a central issue in the work of young talents. An ironic forest of birdcages will contain a series of videos showing the work of ten young talents selected from forty participants: the small doors of the cages are left open to allow creativity to escape from the limitations of reality. Each winner will receive a special object created by the three members of the jury: Barber&Osgerby, Front and Raw Edges. The objects have been created starting with the form of the egg, a traditional symbol of prosperity, perfection and rebirth.

Exhibition Young Talent Award A jury of international design experts has selected, from a list of forty participants, ten candidates to compete in the most recent international design prize, the Be Open Young Talent Award. The ten will then be evaluated for the assignment of the prize, a study grant covering everyday expenses for one year, with a particular focus on industrial design and its goal of improving function and form. Seen as an ‘incubator of young talent’ for designers who have recently completed their education and are taking their first steps in the world of design, the prize will allow the winner to continue to work at their own pace, experimenting with practical and theoretical projects and discussing their possible production with important contacts provided by the Be Open community, including manufacturers, workshops, professionals, experts and mentors. The jury The members of the jury have been chosen for their expertise in the field of industrial design: Jay Osgerby (Barber Osgerby), Sofia Lagerkvist (Front), Shay Alkalay (Raw Edges), Giulio Cappellini and Giorgio Galli. The public is invited to take part in the process by voting, using the “like” function at the Be Open Facebook page. Winners The first prize, given by the jury and the winner of the prize assigned personally by Yelena Baturina (one candidate selected by the Founder of Be Open) will be announced during the prize ceremony. The winner of the crowdsourced jury can be voted on the BE OPEN Facebook page until 17 May 2014. Candidates Elie Ahovi (France) / Anton Alvarez (Chile) / Benjamin Graindorge (France) Humans since 1982 (Sweden) / Kwangho Lee (South Korea) / Philippe Malouin (Canada) / Dennis Parren (Netherlands) / Daniel Rybakken (Norway) / Studio mischer’traxler (Austria) /Yuri Suzuki (Japan)

BE OPEN Is a global project to support creativity and innovation, a think tank whose mission is to promote persons and ideas today that can constitute the solutions of the future. A cultural and social initiative supported by Yelena Baturina, the Russian philanthropist and entrepreneur, backed by an international team. The foundation was launched in April 2012 during Design Week in Milan, with the goal of becoming a bridge between the leading personalities of our time – philosophers, sociologists, designers, architects, artists, writers, entrepreneurs and opinion leaders – and the most promising young people. The Founder Yelena Baturina says: “We operate with persons on all platforms – art, science, education and media – because we believe that the most innovative discoveries happen through the meeting of these disciplines.” The Foundation has also launched the program Inside the Academy, a major educational platform that offers support to young creative talents, students, schools and universities, through prizes, a series of master classes and a method of classification.

Cortile d’Onore installation Between project FELICE LIMOSANI produced by Fusina An installation that addresses some of the major issues that afflict the contemporary world. Two ribbons running in opposite directions, inserted between the columns of the upper cloister inside the Ca Granda. A symbolic representation of the contradictions and excesses that call for collective rethinking of reality. The idea balances, through key words, the paradoxes that dramatically coexist on our planet with the hope of a future in which they can find a renewed sense of harmony. A stimulus for reflection and debate, with an eye on the upcoming Expo Milano 2015 and its themes. A historic opportunity for global discussion, to restore the balances of our planet and the peoples that live there.

Cortile d’Onore Exploding Chairs project SIMONE MICHELI produced by NIEDER and WELDING Exploding Chair is an iron seat made with a custom formwork, powder-coated in glossy white, with built-in LED lighting. It is the basic element of the installation, a project of mixing and interface between urban system and natural system, aimed at defininghybrid elements suspended between dream and reality, entities made of empty zones, full zones, lights and shadows. These materic sets are light, almost without consistency, rounded silhouettes with light features. In the evening the charm and intimacy of their intentionally imprecise groupings are enhanced by the engaging play of lights that find their way into the spaces left free, to create a sur- real atmosphere. The city needs to feed itself through iconic and ecosustainable works; it needs enrichment in terms of vocabulary and content; it needs beauty, con- creteness, alternative character, hybrids. The installation, in this sense, represents a symbolic seed capable of contaminating, enlightening, favoring possible reflections.

Loggiato Ovest Exhibition Designing China curator Yang Dongjiang, co-curator GILDA BOJARDI coordination Michele Galeotto, Shi Shuo A selection of projects by 19 designers and studios, among the leading protagonists of the Chinese creative scene, with international backgrounds and experience. The theme of the exhibition is the different meanings of the Mandarin term Yù, which can indicate a successful design, but also the impossibility of achieving a goal without a project. As in the case of design, Yù is the essence of what turns out to be appropriate in situations of encounter without a clear, certain outcome. As an act of balance between desires to be satisfied and desires to keep in check, designing constitutes the creative effort to unite sensations with landscapes or spaces. Yù can also mean habitat and locality: it is thus a term that implies relation and adaptation, intentionally kept in a state of uncertainty. This deliberate uncertainty could be the particular trait of contemporary Chinese design, represented in its various facets by the selection of works in the show.

Interni Press Room project and produced by GRUPPO POZZI Information is the protagonist in the project of new technologies of Gruppo Pozzi, which inside the space emphasizes communication as a source of knowledge and nourishment for the intellect. Feeding new ideas is the natural outcome of the work of a retail design company like Gruppo Pozzi, which in the context of the Press Office makes room for design and intuition, technology and creativity, as well as unconventional solutions. These elements, in fact, create the contact with the city, offering a singular inside-outside relationship and inventing a new type of communication between the individual and the space. Gruppo Pozzi, through a study of design and digital tools, makes the lobby of the Press Office already project the visitor into thedimension of communication, putting the spotlight on the information materials. The second space focuses its daring and alternative design on the activities of journalism and preparation of news, choosing furnishings and technologies to accommodate these activities in a functional way, reflecting contemporary tastes.

Cortile d’Onore Caffetteria project LUCA TRAZZI produced by LA MARZOCCO in collaboration with LAVAZZA The installation is a tribute to the tradition of the La Marzocco company and brings out the stylistic characteristics and the design history of the coffeemakers of the Florentine brand. Steel, curved sheets and welding are the elements underlined by the design of the cafe. In particular, the stylistic features of the Strada machine, designed by Piero Bambi, become the language of the construction of the counter and the walls: the bodies of the Strada machines, put together, are transformed into a wall, a moulding, a section of a cornice, in a dialogue with the architecture of the University, designed by Filarete; the counter echoes the sinuous form of the back of the Strada machine, underlining it. The curves of the counter and the shiny stainless steel reflect, blend into and contrast the colonnade of the Cortile d’Onore.

LAVAZZA Since 1895 Lavazza has been the story of a family and a company that produces coffee. Experience, quality, commitment, research and innovation of product, communication and design: these are the values that have made the Turin-based company the favorite coffee trademark among Italians. Today Lavazza is the leader on the Italian retail market, and operates in over 90 countries, exporting 46% of production, and thus ranking 8th among worldwide coffee producers. A story of innovation: it was Luigi Lavazza, in his shop in Turin, who over 100 years ago invented the concept of the blend, the art of combining different types of coffee, still the outstanding feature of all Lavazza products. In 1946 the firm launched the first vacuum can in Italy, in 1972 the first flexible vacuum brick packaging, and in 1989 the first multiple coffee packs. That same year, the company entered the coffee portion market, the first in Italy to produce and market espresso capsule systems. A story of research and design: the constant passion for quality prompted the company to create, back in 1979, what is now known as the Lavazza Training Center, an international network of over 50 schools of coffee, around the world, where 30,000 people get training every year. For over 15 years, Lavazza has also focused on coffee design, and collaborations with outstanding chefs and designers like Ferran Adrià, Davide Oldani, Carlo Cracco and Massimo Bottura. A story of communication: Lavazza has been a pioneer, since the 1960s, in the world of communication. Together with Armando Testa, Lavazza has launched memorable ad campaigns on television: from Caballero and Carmencita, to testimonials like Nino Manfredi, to the two decades of success of the so-called “Campagna Paradiso.” Starting in 1992 the firm has supported creative photography, conveying images internationally with the Lavazza Calendar, done in collaboration with world-famous artists like Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Erwin Olaf, Elliott Erwitt and Steve McCurry. A story of commitment: as a family firm, Lavazza has always paid close attention to ethics and sustainability. In 1996 the company began to work with Slow Food, a relationship that continues today, on themes of protection of product quality with respect for biodiversity. In 2004 the Fondazione Giuseppe e Pericle Lavazza was formed, a non-profit foundation for actions of social solidarity, environmental protection and health care in Italy and abroad.

Cortile d’Onore Modules of Urban Algae Canopy and Urban Algae Façade project Ecologic Studio and Cesare Griffa with CARLO RATTI ASSOCIATI The Urban Algae Canopy by ecoLogicStudio [M.Poletto, C.Pasquero] is here presented with the 1:1 scale prototype of the world’s 1st bio-digital canopy integrating micro-algal cultures and real time digital cultivation protocols on a unique architectural system. Once completed as part of Expo Milano 2015 Future Food District, curated by C. Ratti, the Urban Algae Canopy will produce the oxygen equivalent of four hectares of woodland and up to 150kg of biomass per day, 60% of which are natural vegetal proteins. The project is part of the series HORTUS by ecoLogicStudio, special edition for Expo Milano 2015. The Urban Algae Façade is the prototype of a micro-algae façade based on Cesare Griffa’s WaterLilly 2.0 system that will be developed in a special edition for Expo Milano 2015: a project for a micro-algae vertical farm to be implemented as an architectural skin. Micro-algae, absorbing a considerable amounts of CO2 and producing oxygen, could integrate the green system of the cities, increasing their activity of absorbing carbon dioxide and, as a second skin of buildings, increasing their passive performance.

Cortile d’Onore La macchina del tempo (diam. 1 x h 3 m) project FEDERICA MARANGONI The palpitation of light is like the beating of a heart; the heart is the tempo of life. Years, hours, minutes are a human thought, related to existence and calculated forever by man by way of Time Machines built and perfected by him, sun dials and the modern wristwatch. In this golden hourglass light is a fundamental material; it is a methaphor replacing the traditional sand. It is a contemporary piece, realized in golden iron and neon tubes: by mean of its pulsing light mutates into a vital and ephemeral object, celebrative of life itself. In this special location La macchina del tempo wants to celebrate the Interni sixtieth anniversary.

She works with Tiffany as a product designer for Murano glass, throughout the ‘80s, for the old Salviati Murano and the new Salviati, for Corning Glass NY, Firme di Vetro, Christofle, Bormioli di Fidenza Vetraria, Trend. She designs restaurants in New York and many booths for the international fair Abitare il Tempo of Verona from the ‘80s up to the latest edition. In parallel with her work as an artist, leading to shows all over the world, she continues to collaborate with companies in the fields of lighting and glass, creating objects for particular clients like San Pellegrino. For 15 years she is assistant professor at Dept. of Arts and Art Education of New York University and she gives many lectures in various other Universities in USA on the theme “Art, Art& Craft, Design: confrontation, analysis and interactivity”. Portico San Nazaro Exhibition Communication Simplified project ROCCO Toscani curator OLIVIERO Toscani produced by Punkt. The exhibition explores the notions of function and design, and reflects the young brand’s philosophy of pioneering solutions for simpler living by creating products that do one thing, but do it well. The photographs, by Rocco Toscani, depict homing pigeons: the dependable messengers once used by many countries as an important mode of communication. The mechanics of the bird - its eyes, ears and respiratory system - make it ideally suited to the key role it once played. The perfectly posed pictures restore a quiet dignity to birds that many see purely as a nuisance, and bring their personality to life. Rocco’s aesthetic sensibility resonates with the brand’s vision of celebrating simplicity and enhancing normality through design.
