GARY McQUAY GARY WEST 1996 Indiana All-Star, AP high honorable mention all-state and Bloomington H-T 1st team all-state… averaged 14.3 points and 12.5 rebounds, shooting 51.3% from the field as senior for 17-4 squad… totaled 993 career points… all-area 1st team… played in 97 games in three seasons at Purdue University, totaling 425 points, 327 rebounds and 74 blocks… led Big Ten with 36 games played as sophomore, when he averaged career bests 6.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game… was among Big Ten leaders in blocks in 1997 and 1998… diagnosed with leukemia in March 2000, he passed away from the disease in August 2002 at the age of 24.
