Cafeteria Procedures 2020-2021 School Year Lunch Block (10:48 am – 12:55 pm)
Cafeteria Entrance:
*Prior to cafeteria entrance, students must be wearing an approved face mask/covering Students will enter the cafeteria through the Cafeteria Annex Students will sanitize hands upon arrival to the cafeteria o Hand sanitizer stations will be located in the Cafeteria Annex Students that are not wearing a face mask/covering or student ID will not be permitted in the cafeteria and will be redirected to the BRC and reported to the Assistant Principal It is encouraged that students wash their hands before leaving their assigned shops prior to lunch
Cafeteria Seating/ Lunch Lines:
Students that have brought lunches will find seating immediately in identified areas o Students will sit in approved seating (seating will be marked) and be seated facing in the same direction o 2 students will be seated at each 12-foot table o Students must leave identified empty seats between them and other students
Students that are purchasing lunches will proceed to marked lunch food lines and remain socially distanced using identified markers located on the cafeteria floor
Students will have options of one hot food line and one deli line open for all five lunches
o The deli will continue to offer pre-packaged grab-n-go items o Hot lunches will be put together on trays by the food service team and handed to each student (There will be no buffet or self-serve items) o Students will remain properly social distanced at all times through the food lines o Students will verbally inform cashiers of their account numbers, as touchpads will not be used during lunch service.
Students will remain seated for the duration of the lunch period until they are dismissed by a staff person
Lunch expectations:
Students may remove masks/coverings while eating lunch o If students need to get up from their table, they must put on their face mask/covering Students will clear lunch trays but must return to their identified seat immediately Students will clean their lunch area (pick up trash/wipe up spills) prior to being dismissed Students will behave professionally while in the cafeteria Students must ask for permission (Raising hand from table) to leave the cafeteria to use the restroom o Only a specific number of students will be permitted to leave at a time Students will not be able to go to shops or classrooms during the identified lunch period
Cafeteria dismissal:
Students will be dismissed by tables (by Campus Safety Officers/BVT Administration) o Students will exit the cafeteria in same direction Students will sanitize their hands when exiting the cafeteria o Hand sanitizer will be located at the cafeteria exits
Between Lunches:
Cafeteria tables will be cleaned thoroughly using approved cleaning materials Students will not be permitted in the cafeteria until cleaning is completed
*Students that fail to comply with the cafeteria procedures are subject to a disciplinary response from the Office of the Assistant Principal.
Additional Information:
Microwaves will not be in service during lunches- Students should plan accordingly Condiments and utensils will be individually packaged and distributed to students Peanut Free tables will be available
Breakfast Service: o Students will be able to order breakfast when they arrive in their identified homerooms o Breakfast orders will be placed through pick-up service and ordered items will be charged to each student’s individual meal account o Students will eat breakfast in their assigned shops
Lunch Service: o Hot Line – Students will proceed to service line where a Food Service Associate will build a reimbursable meal for students. This will include an entrée with sides, and choices of Milk or Juice, covered fruit and/or dessert. Individually wrapped utensils will be placed on each food tray.
. Students will be offered a small number of a la carte items available for purchase . Students will verbally inform the cashiers of their account numbers (there will be no touchpads utilized during lunch periods) . Students will stay behind the partitions and no cash will be taken during lunch service
o Deli Line – Students will maintain social distancing and wear face masks/coverings while waiting in food service lines. Grab-n-Go items with individually wrapped and packaged items will be available for a student’s reimbursable meal (There will be a limited amount of a la carte items for purchase.)
. Students will take appropriate individually wrapped utensils . Food Service Associates will hand students service trays and assist them through the line . Students will verbally inform cashiers of their account numbers, as touchpads will not be used during lunch service . Students will stay behind the partitions and no cash will be taken during lunch service
