Thiepval, visit the British National Memorial to the Missing where the names of over 72,000 Commonwealth soldiers who died in the battles of the Somme and have no known grave, are recorded.

Start your return journey and at Beaumont-Hamel, visit the Newfoundland Memorial Park, a preserved Canadian battlefield and trench network. Then at Arras, visit the Wellington Tunnels, a tunnel network modified by the New Zealand soldiers, to provide shelter for thousands of soldiers from the relentless bombardment above. The tunnels are a time piece from both World Wars and provide an insight into conditions experienced Wellington Tunnels, Arras by the soldiers.
