LOI TRAINING STARTUP PHASE (1984-1989)

The Nu Skin concept originates around a kitchen table in Provo, , with the desire of Nu Skin’s founders to create high quality, personal skin care products that subscribe to the philosophy of “all of the good and none of the bad.”

With the launch of its first product line, early customers line up with their own containers to spoon out samples of the new products, and Nu Skin is born.

The company's ongoing mission is to be a force for good throughout the world by empowering people to improve lives.

LOI TRAINING STARTUP PHASE (1984-1989)

1984: A group of young entrepreneurs including Blake Roney, Steve Lund and Sandie Tillotson start Nu Skin.

1984: Nu Skin launches its first products, formulated with the philosophy of “all of the good, none of the bad.”

1985: Nu Skin recognizes its first Blue Diamond Executives.

1986: Nu Skin launches Nutriol hair products and Sunright.

1988: Body Bar, Glacial Marine Mud and Celltrex launch.

LOI TRAINING GLOBAL EXPANSION (1990-1995)

Nu Skin establishes a global vision from the beginning when the company name is registered as Nu Skin International.

This era marks the beginning of international expansion by first expanding into Canada, followed by Asia, the South Pacific and Europe.

The company adds dietary supplements to its product line and pioneers a global compensation plan for sales leaders that enables them to easily build their business in multiple markets and currencies.

LOI TRAINING GLOBAL EXPANSION (1990-1995)

1990: Nu Skin begins international operations in Canada, the first step in fulfilling the global potential of the company, which now operates in 53 markets after 30 years.

1990: Nu Skin pioneers the first Global Seamless Compensation Plan, allowing sales leaders to build their business in all Nu Skin markets without needing to worry about tax calculations or currency conversions.

1991: Nu Skin begins operations in Asia with the opening of Hong Kong.

1993: Nu Skin opens in Japan and the South Pacific region.

1995: Nu Skin begins operations in Europe in five countries.

LOI TRAINING COMING OF AGE (1996-2001)

Nu Skin goes public with its Asia Pacific markets and later consolidates all of it global operations under its public listing.

Recognizing an opportunity to create a comprehensive approach to anti-aging, Nu Skin acquires Pharmanex, the leader in the industry.

Pharmanex provides the company with additional scientific expertise and adds many innovative nutritional supplements to its product portfolio.

LOI TRAINING COMING OF AGE (1996-2001)

1996: Nu Skin takes its Asia Pacific markets public under the ticker symbol NUS.

1996: Nu Skin opens in Korea and expands in Europe.

1998: Nu Skin acquires Pharmanex, a brand that combines the natural benefits of plants with the latest nutritional science to create effective dietary supplements.

1998: The company’s public listing expands to include all global markets.

2001: Nu Skin launches the Galvanic Spa System.

LOI TRAINING TRANSFORMATION (2002-2007)

Nu Skin appoints Chief Executive Officer Truman Hunt and Chief Scientific Officer Joseph Chang to help lay the foundation for increased innovation and growth.

Nu Skin expands into Mainland China and later becomes only the second company to be granted a license for direct selling in Mainland China.

These foundational elements help transition Nu Skin into an era of explosive growth and into one of the world’s largest direct selling companies.
