Congregational Participation at Temple Micah Services…It is our tradition that congregants participate in our services by reading designated passages from the prayer book, poetic readings, or parts of the Hebrew liturgy. Reading parts will be assigned in advance. If you would like to participate (i.e. an English reading, a Torah aliyah, reading the Haftarah in English, chanting Haftarah blessings, or blowing ) – please contact Adrienne Rubin at [email protected]. ------(please cut here and return the portion below) ------Yizkor Elohim (Memorial) The Yizkor service asks God to remember those we mourn and to grant them proper rest. The word Yizkor is Hebrew for "remember." For many, the service represents a kind of pact; by remembering our parents, we ensure that we will, in turn, be remembered by those who follow us. Some believe that reciting Yizkor can help promote a peaceful rest for that departed soul. Also, we remember loved ones by the acts of loving-kindness we perform in this world. In keeping with Temple Micah's tradition, we invite you to list below the names of people you wish to have memorialized. Since we read the names, we encourage you to attend the Yizkor service to personally memorialize your loved ones. Please include your telephone # in case we need to verify spelling or pronunciation. PLEASE PRINT OR TYPE THE NAMES YOU WISH TO HAVE MEMORIALIZED (if a name is difficult to pronounce, please write it phonetically to assist the Rabbi) Name: ______Relation to you:______Name: ______Relation to you:______Name: ______Relation to you:______Your Name______Telephone ______Street City State Zip We ask that Members please submit names of only immediate family (maximum of six names); and we ask Non-Members to make a small contribution of $18 for each name to be read.
